Justice Bridge Engages Kwale County Gender Office on Referral Pathway

A focused meeting between the Justice Bridge project team and the Kwale County Gender Office started the day off in high spirits.Discussions centered on strengthening technical partnership and mapping the referral steps that will safely connect survivors of gender-based violence supported by our learning parishes to County Gender services.

The engagement reinforced the project's core principle: the church listens, supports, and refers, while trained County Gender responders lead on case response and care. This groundwork brings Kwale a step closer to a fully validated referral pathway alongside Mombasa and Kilifi.

We appreciate the Kwale County Gender Office team for their time and technical partnership in building safer systems for survivors.

Justice Bridge Advances Referral Pathway with Kilifi County Leadership

A key milestone for Justice Bridge moved forward as a section of Justice Bridge and safe Church leaders met with Kilifi County leadership to strengthen partnership and activate the trusted referral pathway between learning parishes and County Gender/GBV services. The meeting mapped out how survivors of gender-based violence who approach the church can be safely and quickly connected to professional care — reflecting our core principle that the church listens, supports, and refers, while County services lead on response.

We thank Kilifi County leadership through the Deputy Governor, mama Flora Mbetsa Chibule for their partnership and shared commitment to survivor safety.

Justice Bridge & Safe Church | Kilifi Cluster Training

Parish leaders and their teams from Rabai, Mawe Mabomu, Samburu and Kaloleni came together for a powerful training session under the Justice Bridge and Safe Church Programme.

Led by Rev. Dr. Brenda Achieng', the session tackled safeguarding, appropriate responses to survivors, confidentiality, dignity, and clear referral pathways ;equipping our leaders to build safer, more responsive churches.

This marks an important step forward — paving the way for the individual parish-level sessions expected to roll out soon across the cluster.
