2 Corinthians 8:1-10
The grace of God
* The church in Macedonia
- A church that Paul testifies of their love.
- A church that poverty was a challenge, infact the Spirit of God through Paul confesses of their poverty
- A church that surprised Paul through their ability to give.
- A church that gave of their own free will.
.......Yes yet poor, the grace of God enables one to out do his/her ability, why? Coz Christ, rich as he was he made himself poor for our sake, in order to make us rich by means of his poverty.
# A believers wealth is based on all he has: faith (faith in God and that He is Jehovah Jireh, faith in His Spirit....that its not by power or might but by His Spirit, faith in the Christ and His grace that empowers us......that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us), speech, and knowledge, in his eagerness to give and love ( this eagerness and love is the key to unlock each and every door with the provision that one needs to accomplish the desires of giving).
- We all are equipped with the ability to out do our physical abilities and limitations if only we surrender all to God, if only we love God the right way.....not coz we have it all but coz He is God
- Our ability to love God shouldn't be determined by the riches we have but by our love to God.
- By the grace of God we are more than we appear physically.
* The church in Macedonia begged and pleaded for the privilege of having a part to help God's pple in Judea (begging to give!), How is that possible?! 2 Corinthians 9:6-9~ sowing more willingly as they had decided, not with regret or out of a sense of duty but with gladness( for God loves as cheerful giver) so as to harvest more; coz God is able to give you more than you need so that you'll always have all you need for yourselves and more than enough for every good cause.....God gives generously to the needy, His kindness lasts forever.

Sermon
Holding on through the storm
*Job 23:1-17
* Job was hit by 4 attacks; He lost his source of income, Job lost his wealth, Job lost His family and Job lost his health. This are mostly the attacks that the devil replicate in our lives.
* His friends instead our giving him hope, they judged and blamed him for things that had happened to him.
* Job despite of all this and the efforts of seeking God without an answer he comes to this conclusion :-
♡ God knows.....23:10.
God knows what is happening, He knows my paths, He knows my tomorrow and He knows why. God is all knowing and nothing can be hidden from Him.....not even my pain or my tears. And He does as He wills.
-Mark 6:47-56......the disciples are in the sea and there is a storm and Jesus walks on water and He sees what's happening to the disciples and He comes to their aide.
- All that is required of me/you in times of struggle is to stay on course and stay focused on Him who sees, hears and helps.
♡ God is in control 23:10
- Job is sure of one thing: this are just trials and God knows and God is in control. Yes he doesn't understand what's happening in heaven but he is sure that there is an end to his suffering, coz not only is God in control but also He does what He pleases.
- Everytime God prepares a trial, He prepares a way out.
♡ At the end of this trial, Job believes that he will come out shining refined as gold.
- Job not only does he believe that all this pain has an end but also he will come out as gold..in verse 1&2 Job speaks of his pain and bitterness but all he wants is to find God, He is seeking God and to come close to Him and present his case. Job's trials didn't push Him away from God but drew him near to God.
- I believe that whatever is happening in your/ my life now will draw me/you near to God and help me/you seek God. Job confesses that he is unable to find God, but he still strives to find God and he is sure that God knows.
- God let the devil drag Job through all this pain and shame to prove to him that Job is not like the devil thought of him. Job was righteous right from the beginning and he'll remain in that state no matter what, and Job came out a better person than the time he entered into trouble.

Sermon
Courage, determination, obedience and commitment
Joshua 1:1-9
Hebrews 4:1-11
*The beginning of the plight of Israel begun when God gave Abraham a promise and year down the line, God fulfills the promise in the time of Joshua and God bestows the power to deliver the descendants of Abraham to the promised land to Joshua, just after the death of Moses, God promotes Joshua to leadership, and promises to be with Joshua all through this mission.
* Joshua is to lead what we call the generation of faith (looking at Joshua and Caleb who believed despite of the obstacles that with God on their side they were gonna take the land of Canaan- the place of rest, the place of inheritance).
* Inorder to live a live of peace and rest, victory had to be achieved, God said that he would push the inhabitants as his pple progressed ,meaning God took upon himself that he was going to give the israelites victory.
# God asks Joshua to be courageous (courageous faith that God is with Him). God repeats it several times to Joshua that he shouldn't fear but be courageous for he(God)is with him, an assurance that despite of what they'll encounter on the way, God is with them. Yes the enemy may seem stronger, yes the devil may be strong but I am determined of victory for He who is in me stronger than the one who is in the world. The flesh is weak but His Spirit in me is stronger than my flesh.
urges Joshua to have consistent obedience, for two cannot walk together unless they agree, and that agreement between Joshua and God is obedience of the laws of God passed to the israelites through Moses. God will lead those who obey him for that makes him a priority in our lives, holding him in a higher honour and giving him all the glory. Joshua and we gotta obey God for him to lead us and grant us victory.
also requires Joshua to be committed to the word of God, he is to lead the israelites with the word of God, to read it understand and meditate on it, that what he thinks, speaks and acts is all the word of God. The word is the light that leads his feet and our feet, only the word makes our thoughts right and only the word makes our actions acceptable and only the word secures our victory. The word of God purifies the spring of living water in our hearts, instead of producing filth and death, we produce live because the word in us brings forth life.
The courage (is a pure determination that we are covered, protected and catered for) is as a result of obedience to God and commitment to His word. Namwandama Bwana (17)......Amini ukatii .

Be loyal and faithful, and God will forgive your sin. Obey the LORD and nothing evil will happen to you. Proverbs 16:6

18/11/2022

The Lord God asks "Have you noticed how pple are saying that I have rejected Israel and Judah?"
* God listens and hears what pple are saying us and our current situations.
* He sees the way they look at us with contempt
***** but O He is God, he who keeps all covenants, and just as sure as the day and night comes at the right time and as long as the laws that control the earth and the sky hold, God will maintain and keep his covenant. He will be merciful to us, restore and prosper us.

It's time
We are at a time when life is full of uncertainties, we are encountering attacks all the time, the body of Christ (the church) is under attack, there is an invasion of the devil in our believe system, in the churches and in the world. In some counties in Kenya churches are being directed on how to worship, crusades are slowly being turned into an illegal act, the leadership in our churches is slowly crippling worship services....all in the name of comfort. It is time now to take your purse or bag and sword ( if you have no sword, sell your coat and buy one), coz now the body of Christ is suffering the same fate as criminals (Luke 22:35-38). Remember the sword here refers to the word of God, Hebrews 4:12, for a believer to stay steadfast and win this battle we all need to be well acquainted with the word of God and fellowship with the Holy Spirit, for this sword is much effective in the hands of the Spirit of God.

Those that live in the new life/covenant are not bound by the covenant of the law- that which brings death, because they hate that which is wrong but love that
which is right (the power of grace), just like Christ because his Spirit is in them

You are yet to see the best of God
Life is more about ups and downs, great blessing, sometimes loss and pain. Yet you still keeping the faith and trusting God for greater and mighty deeds in your life....But there is that kaspirit of doubt, that very tinny kaspirit that whispers in your ear, "you are not worthy for that blessing, remember you've fallen short of the grace of God, or you've had the best of God , look how far he has brought you, you don't need anything more from him"..... remind that kaspirit that God is not yet done with me and there is still much more in store for me, am yet to reach my divine boundaries for in 1 Samuel 17 God delivers more promise to David that somehow shocks him and in verse 18 David says "what more can I say to you! You know me well (In David's mind, there is that memory of his sins), and yet you honour me, your servant". when God chooses to honour and bless a man, he looks beyond his achievements and shortcomings, even beyond his sins, for he is a gracious and merciful forgiving God and nothing can hinder his decisions. Keep the faith
