FIRST CHURCH HISTORIAN
January 26, 1832 — April 7, 1924
John Norton Loughborough became a Sabbath-keeping Adventist through the labors of J. N. Andrews. He began preaching immediately and was ordained in 1854. He became our first missionary (to California, that is!) in the year 1868. In 1878 he was sent to Europe. He was at one time president of the Illinois Conference. For six years he was superintendent of General Conference districts made up of conferences. He was the denomination's first historian, writing the book, The Rise and Progress of Seventh-day Adventists, which was followed by The Great Second Advent Movement. He was also the author of smaller books. Loughborough was the first man to receive ordination in what was later to be known as the Seventh-day Adventist Church. This occurred when he was only 22 years old. APBP 14.1 - APBP 14.2

FACT: The words, “God the Son”, “God the Holy Spirit”, “God in three persons” “three persons” “trinity”, “triune”, CANNOT be found in the Bible or Sister White’s writings. Yet this is ignored. Is adding to the word of God acceptable to you? How about worshiping the same god as Rome?👇

George Knight, a professor, and prominent SDA theologian makes this startling confession in Ministry Magazine, October 1993 - "Most of the founders of Seventh-Day Adventism would not be able to join the church today if they had to subscribe to the denomination's fundamental beliefs. More specifically, most would not be able to agree to belief number 2 which deals with the doctrine of the Trinity." In all actuality, this would have included ALL of the founders and Pioneers of the early SDA church.

Modern Adventism today now has a God the Father, god the son, and god the holy spirit. This is another gospel not in the Bible.

Witnessing Before the Great Men of the Earth

And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles. Matthew 10:18. Mar 253.1
The time is not far off when the people of God will be called upon to give their testimony before the rulers of the earth. Not one in twenty has a realization of what rapid strides we are making toward the great crisis in our history.... There is no time for vanity, for trifling, for engaging the mind in unimportant matters. Mar 253.2
Kings, governors, and great men will hear of you through the reports of those who are at enmity with you, and your faith and character will be misrepresented before them. But those who are falsely accused will have an opportunity to appear in the presence of their accusers to answer for themselves. They will have the privilege of bringing the light before those who are called the great men of the earth, and if you have studied the Bible, if you are ready to give an answer to every man that asketh you of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear, your enemies will not be able to gainsay your wisdom. You now have an opportunity to attain to the greatest intellectual power through the study of the Word of God. But if you are indolent, and fail to dig deep in the mines of truth, you will not be ready for the crisis that is soon to come upon us. O that you would realize that each moment is golden. If you live by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God, you will not be found unprepared. Mar 253.4
You know not where you may be called upon to give your witness of truth. Many will have to stand in the legislative courts; some will have to stand before kings and before the learned of the earth, to answer for their faith. WHO IS THE THIRD PERSON OF THE GODHEAD

The majority of Seventh-day Adventists and other Christians believe that the 'third person' of the Godhead is the third being of the trinity god. Adventists believe this because Ellen White talks about this 'third person' in her writings. They take a handful of Sister White's quotes and apply the trinity god to them, saying that Sister White became a trinitarian in her later life.

"Sin could be resisted and overcome only through the mighty agency of the Third Person of the Godhead." (E.White, Desire of Ages, p.671)

"He determined to give his representative, the third person of the Godhead." (E.White, The Watchman, Nov.28, 1905)

Now just looking at these quotes, you would think Sister White believed in the trinity right? I mean, she clearly says in the above quotes that the Holy Spirit is the 'Third Person' of the Godhead. But as good Adventists we don't just take little quotes like this on their own do we? We know very well, that context is king, and that we need to compare scripture with scripture, Spirit of Prophecy with Spirit of Prophecy, and Spirit of Prophecy with scripture.

"The Holy Spirit is Christ's representative, but divested of the personality of humanity, and independent thereof. Cumbered with humanity, Christ could not be in every place personally. Therefore it was for their interest that He should go to the Father, and send the Spirit to be His successor on earth. No one could then have any advantage because of his location or his personal contact with Christ. By the Spirit the Saviour would be accessible to all.
