Mothers' Union in Machakos Diocese, Kenya, has marked our 150th anniversary with the launch of a lasting legacy project: the successful drilling of a borehole at Daystar Hostel.
Officially launched on 1 July, the project represents a gift that will bless both present and future generations, providing a vital source of water for the young women living at the Tumaini and Patience hostels.
The project was launched by the Venerable Vicar General, Canon William Matolo, on behalf of the Rt. Rev. Patrick Munuve, alongside the Mothers' Union Executive Committee, with the day's reflections centred on Proverbs 16:9: 'In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.'
This anniversary legacy project is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through faith, vision and service. As we celebrate 150 years of Mothers' Union, we give thanks for the continued dedication of our members around the world who are transforming lives and strengthening communities.
