πΏ Happy Madaraka Day from World Wide Gospel Church Kyumbi πΏ
Beloved in Christ,
On this special day, as our nation celebrates Madaraka Day, we take a sacred pause to thank the Lord for the gift of freedom. June 1st, 1963 marked the beginning of Kenyaβs journey toward self-governance, and today, we rejoice in how far the Lord has brought us.
The word "Madaraka" means "freedom or responsibility," and indeed, freedom is a precious gift from God. Galatians 5:1 reminds us:
βIt is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.β
As a church, we believe that true freedom begins in Christ freedom from sin, fear, and bo***ge. While we celebrate our national independence, let us also reflect on the spiritual freedom weβve been given through the cross.
May we honor this day by praying for our leaders, loving our neighbors, and using our freedom not just for personal gain, but for building a just and Godly society.
Let us also remember that with freedom comes responsibility to be salt and light (Matthew 5:13-16), to serve one another in love, and to speak life over our nation.
We wish you a joyful, peaceful, and prayerful Madaraka Day.
May God bless you, and may God bless Kenya
