*Evening Prayer.*

Our heavenly Father,
We bow down before your throne of mercy this evening.
We worship you our Lord for you are worthy to receive all the glory and honour and power.

We confess our sins to you Lord and believe in what your word says in 1John 1:9 that you will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Father, we are going through hard and distressful times due to the current global pandemic, but we thank you Lord for you have been our helper, protector and our guide every day.
Lord we plead for mercy upon the world. Our eyes are looking up to you Lord our healer, behold there is nothing that is too hard for you . Hear our cry Lord and shorten these days of suffering for us.

Lord ,we pray for all who are affected by this disease, may your healing power rest upon them. We pray for the bereaved, that Lord you will comfort them deep in their hearts. We pray for all the medics, that Lord you will give them strength and divine protection . We pray for our president and all the leaders as they make hard decisions during this period. Lord give them the wisdom they need at this time.

Our dear Lord, we pray for the Church ,that Father you will keep our love for you burning even in this time when we are not meeting together. Father, bind us together with cords of love that cannot broken.
Hide us under the shadow of your wings. Do not leave us nor forsake us Lord.

In the mighty Name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.

*VICTORY ROOTED IN FAITH*
_Friday, 17th April 2020_
*_1 John 5:4 “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith._*”
If there are two things that I am well acquainted with, it's weakness and fear. I know what it's like to feel weak. And I also know what it's like to look fear in the eyes, and with everything in me, want to run in the opposite direction. But glory to God, fear and weakness aren’t our inheritance.
*Your faith in Jesus is a precious possession*. Not only does it open the gates of heaven to you, but it also causes you to triumph in the fierce battles you now face here on earth. The Lord promises us victory over our enemies including the *COVID19* pandemic.
I want to encourage you today by drawing upon the verse from the Bible that says: *_“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith”_* _(1 John 5:4)_ It’s imperative that we know how to live and move by faith in Jesus Christ and submit to Him alone.
*You are born of God*; your faith is in Him, and it allows you to be victorious in the present and future. I praise God that you’re an overcomer in Christ. To those of us with fearful hearts, *_“Be strong, and do not fear, for your God is coming to destroy your enemies. He is coming to save you.” Isaiah 35:4_*

*Your faith is also a shield* that empowers you to stop the fiery darts of the enemy against your life _(see Ephesians 6:16)_ . The Bible says that the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour _(see 1 Peter 5:8)_ . *The enemy’s goal is to paralyse you* . Fear is one of his favourite weapons but I have faith in what Jesus has spoken to me in His Word: *_“‘Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you’”_* _(Luke 10:19) ._
As the darkness cannot stand the light, the devil cannot stand the joyful faith of God’s children. Have faith in God, don’t let yourself be intimidated, and you will have the victory. Fear and faith cannot keep house together; when one enters, the other departs in Jesus Name.

*Faith is your responsibility*. It isn’t God’s, it isn’t your pastor’s, and it isn’t your spouse’s. The only one who can guarantee that you enjoy a strong faith is YOU. God has given you the tools you need to develop a strong faith, the kind of faith that moves mountains, shuts the mouths of lions, quenches the flames of fire, turns weakness to strength, and puts whole armies to flight _(Hebrews 11:33-34)._

*You build your faith by hearing the Word of God again and again* _(Romans 10:17)_ . Feeding your faith is the seed; hearing it again and again is how you water the seed and build faith. Just as with natural muscles, *repetition is the key to building strong faith* . As you feed your spirit, remember that faith comes by hearing, but so does doubt. So, mind what are you listening to? Mind what the news you rely on? Mind what are your friends are telling you? Guard the precious Word you’ve sown into your heart by refusing to consume anything contrary.
*When you build your faith by hearing the Word on a daily basis, truth will come, faith will come and then VICTORY will be your portion in Jesus Name*.

God Bless you All.

Word for today

Ecc3;1-end

TOPIC: A SEASON FOR EVERYTHING

Have you ever asked your self why we have different seasons like summer, autumn, winter etc and it comes with different expectations and preparations?

It's a time in the world now to be silent for God to speak to us, Ecc3:7.

At this particular time of Covid-19, the whole world is at standstill because of this pandemic but the Lord is reminding us that the battle is His all we have to do is take our positions. He has already conquered for us.

We keep getting reports from every where, on the social media, our friends, etc but let's believe the report from our Lord Jesus Christ. Uncertainty and fear has become part of us because of this pandemic but we shall take our positions.

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF US AS CHRISTIANS

1. We should not fear. Josh1:9 have I not commanded you to be strong and courageous. We should be a source of encouragement to the whole world because we are the light of the world.

2. Trust in the Lord. Ecc3:11, says no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to the end. We can only trust Him fully because He is Alpha n Omega.

3. Doing good. Ecc3:12
We can do nothing better during our lifetime than rejoice and do what is good and right. We need to understand every season and learn from it. Let's learn to do the right things that pleases God. Let's be our brothers keeper especially during this trying times.

Finally brethren we can't change some of the situations that we find ourselves in but we can align ourselves with God's timing.

This is a great moment where by when we overcome we shall rejoice, look back and say the Lord has been our Ebenezer.

Keep hope strong, because we shall conquer this season of Covid - 19.

Blessings.

*Word for today 14th April 2020*

*The assurance of God’s promise*
*Hebrews 6:13-20*

In the past one month we have prayed and called the name of the Lord to take away this pandemic. But it seems the more we pray the more the cases are rising!

We have assurance from this text that God will surely do it for us,

i) Abraham patiently waited for God’s promise which He made on oath and indeed it came to pass Isaac the son of promise was born. Let us wait patiently in prayer and trust God it will come to pass.

ii) It is impossible for God to lie, He is our healer, strong tower, salvation, physician, he calms the storms, shepherd…. our ultimate answer.

iii) Hope in God is a sure and steadfast anchor. The hope of the risen Christ brings joy and triumph over our difficulties and cares.

My prayer is when all this is done and the Lord has fought the battle for us the words of Numbers 31:49 will be true to all of us; .. “Your servants have counted the soldiers under our command, and not one is missing.
