Diocese Unveils Integrated Strategic Plan
Catholic faithful and diocesan partners unite to blend spiritual growth and community transformation.
CWA members and Diocesan staff gathered at Immaculate Conception Shrine to celebrate the Feast of St. Monica alongside the official launch of Diocesan Strategic Plan for (2026 - 2030). The event brought together priests, religious sisters and brothers, Catholic Women Association (CWA) members and key development partners.
Presiding over the celebrations, His Lordship Bishop John Mbinda encouraged CWA members and Diocesan staff to carefully utilize Time, finances and Personal talents to serve their families, church and society. He urged them to draw inspiration from the life of St. Monica, '' remain steadfast in prayer and resilient in the face of trials".
The diocesan CWA Chairlady Rosemary Muya applauded the newly commissioned Catholic Women Association members saying that the association has attained national recognition and trophy rewards. She added that the CWA members are currently 1275 in the diocese.
Caritas Coordinator Dr. Kamar Imana during the official launch of the integrated strategic plan said the plan is designed to serve as an operational roadmap for diocesan service delivery and partners collaboration.
Additionally Caritas Director Fr. Denis Odongo, stated that the Integrated Strategic Plan aims to improve pastoral care, Healthcare, Livelihood, education, peacebuilding and access to water in Turkana.
His Lordship Bishop Mbinda, symbolically handed over copies of the strategic plan booklet to key partners. Representatives from the Danish Refugee Council (DRC), Sapcon, Unicef, Catholic Relief Services, Turkana University College, Apad, Tupado and the County Government of Turkana were among those in attendance, reinforcing a shared commitment to sustainable development and service delivery throughout the diocese.
