TOTAL SURRENDER AS OPPOSED TO PART-TIME CHRISTIANITY.
Scripture: Col 3:17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Mal 3:16 Then those who feared the LORD spoke with one another; the LORD heeded and heard them, and a book of remembrance was written before him of those who feared the LORD and thought on his name.
:17 "They shall be mine, says the LORD of hosts, my special possession on the day when I act, and I will spare them as a man spares his son who serves him
Many of us Christians engage in part-time Christianity, trying to do what pleases God. We should glorify God all the time.
When we chose to sin or neglect our fellowship with Him, we chose to resemble Satan, doing all that is satanic...sinking and sinking.
Our call is about Christ likeness, not part-time. It should be full-time, nonstop and glorifying God.
When we neglect our relationship with God then we are part-time.
Let us come out of part-time and become fulltime.
Take your cross and follow Jesus and nothing can harm you. Let it be seen all the time that you are different.
If we neglect to pray without ceasing, it is as if you are telling God you are self sufficient.
Let's not deceive ourselves and pray without ceasing.
Read:
Col 3:23 Whatever your task, work heartily, as serving the Lord and not men.
That is the word of God.

FROM THE PASTOR'S DESK
SCRIPTURE: Psalms 137:1-7
THEME: The sorrows of captivity
1. We should not deal on our past; our past problems.
Let us focus on the problems, the solution to the problems and the 'Person' to solve our problems. Psalms vs 7
2. We should not curse our enemies neighter should we curse ourselves.
The plans of God are different from our thinking.
Let us always remember our God - He has good plans for us.
Psalms 42:3-4

FROM THE PASTOR'S DESK:
SCRIPTURE - MAT 14:22-34
THEME: FAITH IN BELIEVING
TOPIC: PETER WALKING ON WATER
*When Peter realised he was going to die, he called on Jesus and he was saved.
-It is because of the power of Jesus that he was able to walk on water.
WHY DID PETER SINK ON WATER?
*He lost the power of focus; he focused on the stormy sea (problem) Pride had come in because of his overconfidence.
*He doubted his faith.
WHAT DID PETER DO?
1. He called on the name of Jesus and he was saved.
*Even with little faith, be it small; when we are on trouble we should call on Jesus.
2. He had faith. We should take Christ by his word -Cast your burdens unto Jesus.
3. Peter looked at the problem and sank.
We should not look off from Christ and look at our problems, we must focus our eyes on Jesus and call on his name.
4. Peter called unto Jesus and he was saved from strong winds.
*When we reach at the extreme ends of our abilities, Christ is the great saviour.
5. There's no reason why we should backslide b'couse Jesus is able. The weakness of our faith doesn't please God.
6. Peter saw Jesus/Deciples saw Him and they were the winners.
*Even in a stormy situation, Jesus is present. HEB 11:6 -Without faith, it's impossible to please him. He who approaches God, must believe that He exists and He rewards those who seek Him.
-So long as the attention of Peter was on Jesus, he was okay, but he began to sink when he lost focus. We must not be distracted-Avoid distractions.
WHEN STRONG WINDS ARE RAGING, THERE'S ONLY ONE SOLUTION - JESUS.

FROM THE PASTOR'S DESK
SCRIPTURE: II CHRON 32:1-17
TOPIC: CHANGED?
THEME: Only those who call "on the name of the LORD shall be saved" - ROM 10:13
-Some of the things in life call for us to be absolutely accurate. We must get them right. Manasseh's life illustrates the truth that what we belive deep within us has a profound effect on our behauiour.
-Manasseh sacrificed his own children to idols, ruthlessly killed people and practiced all kinds of evils during his reign as king.
-The only true solution to this problem is a return to belief in God as he has revealed Himself in the Bible. Manasseh's life was dramatically changed. Indeed, the live of people to day are also transformed when they hear the truths of the Bible and respond in obedient faith!
-God's word not only saves us from Christless eternity, but also prevent us from making tragic mistakes.
"God bless you as you enjoy the service. May you all be changed by the word."

Sermon conclution:...
'Tough times don't last, tough people do! It's my prayer that as church we must continue to preach, we are faced with heartache, suffering and trouble. We will overcome in the LORD.' AMEN.
