🌅*OUR MORNING DEW*🌅
BLESSED IS THE MAN WHO FEARS THE LORD
Psalms 128:1 "Blessed is every one who fears the Lord, Who walks in His ways. 2 When you eat the labor of your hands, You shall be happy, and it shall be well with you. 3 Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine In the very heart of your house, Your children like olive plants All around your table. 4 Behold, thus shall the man be blessed Who fears the Lord.
As we rise to see another new day, we must understand that life’s greatest blessing is not found in money, power, or possessions, but in walking with God. The foundation of a stable, fruitful, and peaceful life is the fear of the Lord.
Today many people fear the future, fear failure, fear sickness, fear poverty, and fear death. But the Bible teaches us that there is one fear that brings life, peace, protection, and blessing — the fear of the Lord.
The man who fears the Lord is not abandoned. He is not forgotten. He is blessed.
Psalm 128 paints a beautiful picture of the life of a God-fearing person. It shows us a man who walks with God, works with dignity, enjoys peace in his home, and leaves behind a legacy of blessing.
1. THE FEAR OF THE LORD BRINGS BLESSING
“Blessed is every one who fears the Lord, who walks in His ways.” — Psalm 128:1
The Scripture begins with a declaration, not a suggestion:
“Blessed is every one who fears the Lord.”
This means the blessing is available to everyone who chooses to honor God.
To fear the Lord does not mean to be terrified of Him. It means:
• To honor Him,
• To reverence Him,
• To obey Him,
• To hate evil,
• To put Him first in every area of life.
The fear of God changes how we speak, think, behave, and live.
Proverbs 8:13 says:
“The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; pride and arrogance and the evil way.”
A man who fears God cannot comfortably live in sin. His heart desires righteousness.
As you begin this day, make a decision:
• Walk honestly,
• Speak truthfully,
• Live humbly,
• Honor God in secret and in public.
The blessing of God follows the man who fears Him.
2. THE FEAR OF THE LORD BRINGS FRUITFUL LABOR
“When you eat the labor of your hands, you shall be happy, and it shall be well with you.” — Psalm 128:2
God never intended for His children to labor without reward.
The person who fears God experiences:
• Fruitfulness,
• Satisfaction,
• Joy in labor,
• Peace in provision.
There is a difference between working hard and being blessed. Many work hard but have no peace. But when God blesses the work of your hands, your labor becomes fruitful.
The fear of God attracts divine favor upon your efforts.
This means you need to:
• Fear God in your business.
• Fear God in your workplace.
• Fear God in your studies.
• Fear God in leadership.
• Fear God in finances.
Do not use corruption, deceit, or compromise to advance yourself as people of the world and those who do not fear God do. The blessing of the Lord is greater than dishonest gain.
Proverbs 15:16 says:
“Better is a little with the fear of the Lord, than great treasure with trouble.”
A peaceful life with God is better than riches without God.
3. THE FEAR OF THE LORD BLESSES THE FAMILY
“Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine in the very heart of your house, your children like olive plants all around your table.” — Psalm 128:3
The blessing of the fear of God does not stop with one person. It flows into the family.
A God-fearing man becomes:
• A blessing to his wife,
• A blessing to his children,
• A blessing to generations.
The wife becomes “a fruitful vine” — a symbol of joy, productivity, beauty, and nourishment.
The children become “olive plants” — symbols of strength, stability, growth, and future inheritance.
Today many homes are filled with confusion because God has been removed from the center. But when the fear of God enters a home:
• Peace returns,
• Love increases,
• Respect grows,
• Prayer becomes powerful,
• Families become united.
Encouragement to Families
Parents must not only teach children success; they must teach them the fear of God.
A child who fears God carries wisdom for life.
4. THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS THE FOUNDATION OF WISDOM
Proverbs 1:7 says:
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.”
True wisdom begins with God.
Education without God can produce intelligent fools. Skills without God can become destructive. But the fear of the Lord gives wisdom for right living.
The fear of God teaches us:
• What to avoid,
• What to pursue,
• How to make righteous decisions,
• How to walk safely in life.
When a man fears God, he avoids traps that destroy others.
Proverbs 14:27 says:
“The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to turn one away from the snares of death.”
5. THE FEAR OF THE LORD BRINGS CONFIDENCE AND SECURITY
Proverbs 14:26 declares:
“In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, and His children will have a place of refuge.”
The world is full of uncertainty, but those who fear God have confidence.
Why? Because they know:
• God is their defender,
• God is their refuge,
• God is their provider,
• God is their protector.
The fear of God removes the fear of man. When you walk with God, you walk with assurance.
6. THE FEAR OF THE LORD LEADS TO LIFE AND LONGEVITY
Proverbs 19:23 says:
“The fear of the Lord leads to life, and he who has it will abide in satisfaction.”
And Proverbs 10:27 says:
“The fear of the Lord prolongs days.”
Sin destroys, but the fear of God preserves.
God promises:
• Satisfaction,
• Protection,
• Peace,
• Long life.
This does not mean trials will never come, but it means God will sustain those who fear Him.
7. THE FEAR OF THE LORD PRODUCES RICHES, HONOR, AND LIFE
Proverbs 22:4 says:
“By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches and honor and life.”
Notice the order in this verse:
1. Humility,
2. Fear of the Lord,
3. Riches,
4. Honor,
5. Life.
God promotes the humble and the reverent. The world chases riches first, but God says: “Seek Me first.”
When the fear of God becomes your lifestyle, blessings follow naturally.
Conclusion
The fear of the Lord is not bo***ge — it is freedom.
It is not weakness — it is strength.
It is not loss — it is gain.
The man who fears the Lord:
• Walks in blessing,
• Enjoys peace,
• Lives wisely,
• Builds a strong family,
• Walks in confidence,
• Experiences satisfaction,
• Receives honor and life.
In Our Morning Dew today, God is calling us back to reverence, holiness, obedience, and humility.
Let the fear of the Lord become our foundation.
