REV. FR. JEFFERSON MUTINDA APPOINTED VICAR GENERAL
His Lordship Rt. Rev. John Mwandi, has appointed Rev. Fr. Jefferson Mutinda as the Vicar General of the Catholic Diocese of Kitui, effective 27th August 2026, in accordance with Canon 475 §1 of the Code of Canon Law.
The appointment has been shared through a memorandum dated 27th August 2026 addressed to all priests, religious men and women, and the Christians of the Catholic Diocese of Kitui.
“Following my consecration as the Bishop of Kitui on 8th August 2026, I appoint Rev. Fr. Jefferson Mutinda as the Vicar General of the Catholic Diocese of Kitui with effect from 27th August, 2026. Rev. Fr. Jefferson Mutinda has been the Parish Priest of St. Mary’s Parish, Miambani since 20th August 2024.” reads part of the memo
Fr. Jefferson is also a member of the College of Consultors and the Diocesan Tribunal.
The Bishop has commended Fr. Mutinda to the fatherly guidance of St. Joseph and to the intercession of Our Lady of Protection.
