The History and Growth of Welcome Pentecostal Church – Kitale
Welcome Pentecostal Church, Kitale, traces its origins to a meeting held at the home of Richard and Beatrice Aiyabei. During this gathering, Bishop Kisorio met with several church leaders to discuss matters concerning ministry and the advancement of the Gospel. As the meeting continued, Bishop Kisorio suggested that they hold a brief worship service. At the conclusion of that service, he declared that regular Sunday worship services would thereafter be conducted at the Aiyabei family home. This marked the humble beginning of Welcome Pentecostal Church.
As regular services continued in the Aiyabeis’ residence, the congregation steadily grew in number. With increasing attendance, the need for a dedicated place of worship became evident. United by a common vision, the members worked together to purchase a parcel of land on which Welcome Pentecostal Church was established. Through the leadership of Pastor Amos Ngeywo, the church continued to experience both spiritual and numerical growth. As a result, the congregation embarked on the construction of a larger and more modern sanctuary to accommodate its expanding ministry and outreach. This development project continues to progress as a testimony to God's ongoing provision and grace.
Over the years, Welcome Pentecostal Church has developed into a vibrant center for worship, discipleship, fellowship, ministry, and evangelism. Beyond its regular church services, the church has become widely recognized for hosting its Annual Women’s Conference, a significant gathering that has impacted and transformed many lives through powerful worship, sound biblical teaching, fervent prayer, and spiritual empowerment.
The church's ministry has extended beyond its local congregation through community outreach initiatives, leadership development, discipleship programs, youth and children's ministries, and missions-focused activities aimed at advancing the Kingdom of God. Through these efforts, countless individuals have encountered Christ, grown in their faith, and been equipped for Christian service.
From its modest beginnings in the home of the Aiyabei family to its present status as a thriving congregation with its own property and a growing church facility, Welcome Pentecostal Church, Kitale, stands as a testimony to God's faithfulness, visionary leadership, unity among believers, sacrificial commitment, and unwavering dedication to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
As we celebrate over 20 years of ministry, we renew our commitment to the God-given vision of "Influencing the World for Christ." We remain devoted to fulfilling this vision through our five core pillars:
