THE CHURCH OF GOD 7TH DAY, (NEW JERUSALEM)
The Church of God (7th Day) New Jerusalem is a Sabbath-keeping, Bible-based church built on the foundation of the Prophets and the Apostles and recognises the Headship of Jesus Christ (Yeshua ha Massiach)-Ephesians 2:20-22. We preach repentance from death works and salvation through baptism in Jesus' name. The Church upholds the Commandments of God and the Faith of Jesus (Exodus 20:1-17, Revelation
14:12; 12:17). Our earthly headquarters is Jerusalem, Israel. This headquarters was established in 1952 from a unanimous decision by the Church Council of 1931 in Salem, West Virginia, USA. The Church in Kenya was established in the 1970s through the Great work of Andrew N. Dugger from Jerusalem Israel, and international missionaries: A.M. Schumaker and William Huer of Yakima USA who was the Africa-Carribean General Overseer. Administratively, the Church is organised into regions each having a Regional Oversees, several Pastors and Deacons. Elder Paul Bor is the General Overseer. OUR BELIEFS
Our believes are enshrined in the Scriptures which is the infallible word of God. This is documented in the Church's 40 Points of Doctrine which were developed and compiled in 1917. We believe in salvation through faith in Jesus (Yeshua) the Messiah, repentance from sins, baptism by immersion in water and by the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:37, 3:19, 1:5,8; Romans 10:9-11). The Ten Commandments in their entirety are in force in the New Testament and every Kingdom-bound Saint is required to live in obedience to these Commandments. (Matthew 19:16; Revelation 14:12, Ecclesiastes 13:13). The seventh day Sabbath was blessed and hallowed by God from the beginning for man to keep through all generations (Genesis 2:1-3; Exodus 20:8-11; Matthew 2:27; Isaiah 66:23). Our Saviour set us an example (Luke 4:16). We believe in the The Lord's Supper accompanied by the washing of feet, as the only feast that is instructed upon us by Jesus in the New Testament. This replaced the Old Testament's Passover feast (Matthew 26:17-29, John 13:4-15; 1 Corinthians 11:23-30, 5:7-8). We believe in the soon second coming of Jesus at an untold time to establish His 1000-year reign on earth, to bring everything subject to God and to execute judgement upon the sinners (Luke 12:35-40; Revelation 5:10; Matthew 25:31-46; 1 Corinthians 15:20-28).
