Life is often described as a journey, a constant interplay of joys, struggles, and growth. It unfolds with questions about meaning, purpose, and connection. Religion, for many, serves as a compass on this journey, offering guidance, comfort, and a sense of belonging. It teaches us to look beyond the material, to seek deeper truths, and to live with compassion and integrity.

On this Sunday, consider the idea that life is sacred, not only in grand moments but in the ordinary—the breath you take, the sunrise you witness, and the relationships you nurture. Religion, in its essence, might remind us that while we are finite beings, our actions, love, and faith can echo infinitely.

Reflect on how your life aligns with your values or beliefs today. Are you walking the path you aspire to? Is your faith (religious or otherwise) helping you navigate life with purpose and peace? Let this Sunday be a moment to realign with gratitude, humility, and hope.

What does this day inspire in you?
Here are some of the biblical excerpts/Lessons you we can reflect on:
1. Life as a Journey with Purpose:
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." – Jeremiah 29:11
This verse reminds us that life is not random. It is filled with divine purpose, even in times of uncertainty.

2. Seeking Deeper Truths:
"Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." – Matthew 6:33
This encourages us to prioritize spiritual growth and divine guidance over material concerns.

3. Living with Compassion and Integrity:
"He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." – Micah 6:8
This verse exhorts us to live a life of humility, justice, and mercy, reflecting God’s character in our actions.

4. Gratitude for the Ordinary:
"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." – 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Gratitude transforms how we view life, helping us find sacredness in the everyday.

5. Hope in Faith:
"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." – Hebrews 11:1
This reminds us to trust in God’s promises, even when the future is unclear.

6. Alignment with God’s Will:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." – Proverbs 3:5-6
Faith invites us to surrender our plans and trust in God’s wisdom and direction.

As you reflect today, consider how these verses resonate with your journey. Are there areas where you can draw closer to God’s purpose for you? How might these truths inspire your actions and attitude in the coming week?

SMOKE ON THE MOUNTAIN.
Mar 27 2023
.

“May the glory of the LORD endure forever;may the LORD rejoice in his works-

He who looks the earth, and it trembles, who touches the mountains, and they smoke”
Psalms 104:31&32

Our good LORD rejoices in everything He’s created that is why He oftentimes manifests himself to us in different and various so that we neither go off track or loose faith in his provision and sustenance of our dear lives and most importantly to maintain course in serving him as the Holy book directs.

God is always so close to us but we miss his presence in us because we are distracted by many little things like worrying about what to eat or wear on a particular day or event. We are God’s and he’s always up and about running our errands. Back in time in the Midian desert God descended in form of fire to Moses. Sometimes you could be “moses” but you could miss to notice the fire 🔥 because you accept to be distracted by whatever is going on in your church and it happens that when you don’t attend the church could’ve been your day to have an encounter with God

Israelites failed to witness the smoke on the mountains and missed a dear encounter with God because they got distracted by their leader’s absence while he was advocating for them at the feet of God, they so much shifted their attention and claimed they wanted a physical God and actually created one in form of a calf whereas GOD himself had been there on the mountain 🏔️ and manifested himself as smoke on the mountain the entire time.

Brethren I encourage us to clean our eyes ,focus on the mountain until the smoke appears and embed our faith on him lest we get distracted by little undeserving things.

PASTORING YOUR PASTOR.
Has it ever hit you how your pastors' soul get nourished? Or have you ever been bothered by how your vicars' spiritual garden is watered?
Today in my reflection i realised that being a pastors parent, sibling and moreso spouse isn't just a matter of being present but offering a shoulder for them to lean on when they are dejected and when their souls are weary and need reassurance. These people play a concrete role in our day to day lives. They need to be loved, helped, preached to and encouraged to face their fears positively. Parents/guardians are the greatest companions that we have and they play a key role in our spiritual growth. As pastors need a spouse to go back to after delivering in the alter so do our parents need us to go back to them when we are grown. This enlightens their hearts and assures them that indeed they did great raising us.

GOD'S WORKMANSHIP
Ephesians 2:10
For we are his workmanship created in christ jesus to continue with the good work he prepared for us beforehand.
After the elections results are released we should bear in mind that all of us has a purpose God established in us before we were born. we should lead exemplary life and fulfil God's desire which isn't rioting, insulting our fellows, destroying peoples property and killing one another on tribal or political affiliation basis. . I pray for peaceful co-existense in kenya as we await presidential poll results. May the peace of God which transcends all understanding prevail over our motherland Kenya.

TODAY'S REFLECTION.

1. Dr. Ben Carson said, "I struggled academically throughout elementary school yet became the best neurosurgeon in the world in 1987."

LESSON: Struggling is a sign that you are on a verge of success. Don't quit yet.

2. Bill Gates said, "I didn't even complete my university education but became the world's richest man."

LESSON: School does not make you rich. School is only supposed to polish what will make you rich, not make you rich.

3. Christiano Ronaldo said, "I told my father that we would be very rich but he couldn't believe me. I made it a reality."

LESSON: Your words rule your life. If you mean what you have said, each word will come to pass. You get what you say.

4. Hear Lionel Messi!, "I used to serve tea at a shop to support my football training and still became one of the world's best footballers."

LESSON: Believe in your dream. Don't let your pain tell you how your future will look like.

5. Steve Jobs penned, "I used to sleep on the floor in my friends' rooms, returning coke bottles for food, money, and getting weekly free meals at a local temple, I later on founded Apple Company."

LESSON: That you are small today doesn't mean you will be small tomorrow. Keep trusting God.

6. Former British PM, Tony Blair said & I quote, "My teachers used to call me a failure, but I became a Prime Minister."

LESSON: Don't let someone else's opinions of you become your reality.

7. Bishop David Oyedepo said, "I started Living Faith Church from a lawn tennis court with three members only & preached prosperity. Many of my friends criticised me, but today we have the largest church auditorium in the world & two world-class universities."

LESSON: Believe in yourself even if no one does & never think of quitting.

8. Nelson Mandela said, "I was in prison for 27 years & still became president."

LESSON: You can be anything you want to be no matter where you have been or what you have been through.

from Rev'd Adera Martin Godfrey

THE CUP: LUKE 22:41-43
41 He withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed,
42 “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”
43 An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him.

REFLECTION
There's a grace when the heart is under fire
Another way when the walls are closing in
And when I look at the space between
Where I used to be and this reckoning
I know I will never be alone....

APPRECIATION
Thanks to everyone who have been part of this journey
Thanks to family, friends, mentors, and loved ones.
One day everything will make perfect sense.

CONCLUSION
Tiga warĩ mwena wakwa ũkĩndũĩrĩra (Had you not been on my side fighting for me)
Thũ cia ngoro yakwa nĩcingĩahotire (The burden of my heart would have won)
Tiga wanjaragĩria ukanjĩraga atĩri (Had your Word not told me that)
Mothe mekĩkaga nĩguo nyone wega (Everything happens for my good)
Refrain:
Igũru ria maũndu mothe wee wĩ Ngai (Above all things you are God)
Wĩkaga magegania maihũrite hinya (You do miraculous and powerful things )
Na nikio ngoro yakwa ĩiyũire gĩkeno (This is why my heart is full of joy)
Nĩkumenya atĩ mah we wĩmũndũirĩri (Knowing that You will fight on my behalf)

YESTERDAY, TODAY AND TOMMOROW
We ain't destined to failure tommorow because we failed yesterday because we can actually rewrite the story today. All these are different days and we ought to live through them with enthusiasm and charisma because each day is a new opportunity to try again with a change of tact.
Someone once said “yesterday's fire is today's ashes” we therefore can't dwell on yesterday's power, authority, influence but accept what today brings and adjust to changes just like the ashes are used as lime and is very instrumental in our day to day lives since it has a variety of uses however useless they may be considered.
One's past should however be used to influence today positively and not to haunt.
We should be encouraged to be Better than what we are today tomorrow.
