Let's pray

Heavenly Father, God of mercy and grace, we lift our hearts in praise and thanksgiving for Your goodness and loving-kindness revealed to us this morning. Thank You for watching over us through the night and awakening us to witness yet another day of Your tender mercies. Truly, “This is the day that the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24)

Merciful Father, we humbly ask You to forgive all our sins and shortcomings. Cleanse us by the precious blood of Your Son, Jesus Christ, and separate us from our transgressions “as far as the east is from the west.” (Psalm 103:12) Make our hearts pure and upright before You, that we may walk in holiness and truth.

Almighty God, we commit into Your hands all who are suffering and in distress — the hungry, the sick, the bereaved, the restless, the hopeless, and those burdened by the cares of life. Stretch forth Your hand of compassion, comfort them, and grant them a new beginning. “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

Gracious King, we place our nation, Kenya, in Your hands. Bless our leaders with wisdom, integrity, and compassion to guide Your people according to Your will. Remove selfishness, greed, and corruption from among us. We thank You for the rains that refresh our land — may they bring fruitfulness and not destruction.

Father, we entrust Your Church to You. Strengthen pastors and ministers to proclaim the Gospel with courage and wisdom. Make us all “the light of the world and the salt of the earth” (Matthew 5:13–14), spreading Your truth to those who do not yet know You.

Our Good God, visit our families and communities with love, reconciliation, peace, and unity, for strong families and societies are the pillars of both Church and nation.

Lord, each one of us has personal needs and desires. Hear our prayers and answer according to Your perfect will, that all may know You and our hope in You may never be put to shame.

Father of mercy, guide us throughout this day. Lead us in Your paths of righteousness, and let our lives reflect Your faithfulness and greatness to all we meet. Protect us from danger and harm in all our journeys.

O Lord, in faith, confidence and humility we present this prayer, believing that You have heard us. Answer us according to Your divine purpose, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Ee Mungu Baba wa rehema, tunakupa sifa na shukrani kwa wema na fadhili zako ambazo umetuletea katika asubuhi hii. Tunakushukuru kwa ulinzi wako usiku kucha na kwa kutuamsha tena ili tuwe mashahidi wa neema zako. Tunafurahia siku hii ambayo Wewe mwenyewe umeifanya, na tunayo sababu ya kukuabudu na kukusifu.

Baba mwenye rehema, tunakuomba kwa unyenyekevu utusamehe dhambi na makosa yetu yote tuliyokutendea. Tusafishe kwa damu ya thamani ya Mwanao Yesu Kristo, na ututenge na dhambi zetu k**a mashariki ilivyo mbali na magharibi. Utufanye tuwe safi na wenye moyo mnyoofu mbele zako.

Ee Mwenyezi Mungu, tunakukabidhi wale wote walioko katika shida na dhiki. Wapo wenye njaa, wagonjwa, waliopoteza wapendwa wao, wasio na amani, waliokata tamaa na wote wanaolemewa na mizigo mizito ya maisha. Tunakuomba uwatembelee kwa mkono wako wa huruma, uwape faraja na mwanzo mpya.

Mfalme mwema, tunaliweka taifa letu la Kenya mikononi mwako. Tunawaombea viongozi wetu uwape hekima na moyo wa uadilifu ili waongoze watu wako kwa mapenzi yako. Wape moyo wa kujali na kuondoa ubinafsi, tamaa na ufisadi. Tunakushukuru kwa mvua inayozidi kunyesha katika se hema nyingi humu nchini, tukikusihi uifanye iwe ya baraka wala sio ya kuleta hasara.

Baba, tunaliweka kanisa lako mikononi mwako. Watie nguvu wachungaji na wahudumu wote ili waendelee kueneza Injili kwa ujasiri na hekima. Utufanye sisi sote kuwa nuru na chumvi ya dunia ili tueneze habari zako kote duniani na hasa kwa wasiokujua.

Mungu wetu mwema, twaomba ututembelee katika jamii zetu ili tuwe na upendo, maridhiano, amani na umoja, maana jamii thabiti ndizo nguzo za kanisa na taifa.

Baba, kila mmoja wetu aombaye ombi anayo mahitaji na matakwa binafsi. Twakusihi utusikie na utujibu kulingana na mapenzi yako, ili wote wakutambue na tumaini letu lisiaibike.

Baba wa rehema, twakuomba utuongoze siku nzima, tuenende kwenye njia zako na tuudhihirishe uaminifu na ukuu wako kwa wote tutakaokutana nao. Ulinde maisha yetu kwa mkono wako na utuepushe na hatari zote kwenye mapito yetu.

Ee Bwana, kwa imani na unyenyekevu tumekuletea sala hii tukiamini umetusikia. Twaomba utujibu kwa kadiri ya mapenzi yako, katika jina la Yesu Kristo, Bwana na Mwokozi wetu. Amina.

Let’s pray.

Almighty God, all glory and honour are Yours, Abba Father. We sincerely thank You for Your goodness and mercy, which You have shown us at all times. We give You thanks for protecting us from the dangers of the night and for granting us a new day. Lord, we receive this day with great jubilation and gladness in our hearts.

O Lord, we beseech You to forgive our sins and trespasses. Father, when we remember them, we are sorry and deeply ashamed. We ask You to remove our sins from us as far as the east is from the west. Cleanse us with the precious blood of the Lamb and grant us Your grace and acceptance before Your throne of mercy.

Father, we pray for Your mighty visitation upon all who are heavy-laden, vulnerable, and facing different problems. We beseech You to attend to them according to their respective needs. May You give them Your heavenly joy, show them Your mercy, and open for them a new chapter from now henceforth, to the glory of Your name.

Lord, we present our families to You, that You may give us peace, love, harmony, and unity. May we always speak with one voice so we may have the strength to grow together in harmony and demonstrate Your goodness for the strength and unity of Your church and our nation.

Mighty King, the ultimate ruler of the universe, we pray that You look mercifully upon our nation, our people, and our leaders. Pour upon us the ever-flowing dew of Your blessings so we may have plenty within our nation’s borders. May justice always be our shield and defender. Merciful Lord, we pray that You give our leaders wisdom as they lead us. Grant them the spirit of servitude and enable them to prioritize the interests of the citizenry, most of whom are facing hard times. Lord, we beseech You to encircle our nation with a hedge of fire and protect us with Your powerful hand. May plenty be found within our borders.

Gracious Lord, we pray for the strength and continued growth of Your body, the church, so we may continue spreading the Gospel even to the world’s unknown places. Give wisdom and inspiration to all the shepherds so they may lead Your flock according to Your will. Make us the light and the salt of this dark and tasteless earth, to the glory of Your name.

Our loving Father, we, Your children, who are praying jointly here, have our own needs which we believe You already know. We pray that You will meet us at the different points of our need. We pray that You uplift us so we may never be put to shame, for we have put all our trust in You, O Lord. May we always fix our eyes on Christ, the author and finisher of our faith.

Lord, as we begin this day, we earnestly pray that You guide and protect us throughout the day as we carry out our normal chores. Give us our daily bread and supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory. May Your mighty and merciful hand sweep away all dangers from our paths.

Merciful Father, there are many petitions we could ask of You, O Lord. We believe You can see our hearts. We pray that You graciously grant our prayers. We ask all these in the mighty name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Mungu Mwenyezi, pokea shukrani zetu za dhati kwa kutupatia ulinzi usiku kucha na kwa kututunukia zawadi ya siku hii mpya ambayo Wewe mwenyewe ndiwe umeifanya. Twaifurahia na kuishangilia.

Dhambi na makosa yetu hukuchukiza, Baba yetu, lakini Wewe ni mwingi wa rehema. Fadhili zako ni mpya kila asubuhi. Twakusihi, ee Baba, usituhesabie makosa yetu wala usituhukumu kulingana na uzito wa dhambi zetu. Twakusihi utuondolee dhambi zetu ziwe mbali nasi k**a mashariki ilivyo mbali na magharibi, na utuoshe kwa damu ya thamani ya Mwanao ili tutakate k**a theluji.

Baba, kunao wana wako wengi wanaokumbwa na masaibu mengi na kulemewa na mizigo mizito. Baadhi yao ni wagonjwa, waponye; wengine wana njaa, walishe; walio uchi, wavishe; wenye huzuni, waliwaze; waliovunjika moyo, watie moyo; waliofiwa, wafariji, mradi umtembelee kila mmoja wetu kulingana na mahitaji na matakwa yake, ee Baba. Sifa na utukufu zitakurejelea, ee Baba.

Mfalme mkuu, twalikabidhi taifa letu mikononi mwako ili utubariki na utustawishe katika nyanja zote. Wape watu wako moyo wa upendo na umoja na uwape viongozi wetu hekima ili wawaongoze watu wako vyema bila ubinafsi, ufisadi, chuki wala tamaa. Twaomba utuletee amani na umoja ili tupate baraka ya ustawi ndani ya mipaka yetu.

Hali kadhalika, Baba, tunaliombea kanisa lako ili ulizidishie nguvu zako za kimbinguni liweze kuhimili mashambulizi ya yule mwovu shetani pamoja na maafriti wake. Twaomba kanisa lizidi kueneza habari zako katika pembe zote za dunia, na utufanye nuru na chumvi ya dunia. Wape nguvu na hekima watumishi wako wote ili wawaongoze watu wako kuambatana na mapenzi yako.

Ee Mungu wetu, twakusihi utuletee amani na utangamano katika jamii zetu. Twaomba maridhiano baina ya watu wamoja ili kanisa lako linawiri na taifa letu liimarike zaidi.

Mungu wetu, kila mmoja wetu aombaye ombi hili anayo mahitaji na matakwa ambayo amekuwa akiyawasilisha kwako faraghani na hadharani. Twakuomba utazame moyo wake na umtizimie maombi yake kulingana na mapenzi yako.

Baba mwema, tuanzapo shughuli za leo, twaomba utulinde sote siku yote hii nzima tunapotekeleza shughuli zetu. Mkono wako na uwe juu yetu na utuondolee hatari zote kwenye mapito yetu.

Ee Baba yetu, sisi wanao tunayo mahitaji na matakwa mengi ila twafahamu fika kuwa wayafahamu hata kabla tuyataje. Kwa sababu hiyo, twakuomba ututimizie yote yatufaayo kulingana na upendo wako mkuu; katika jina la Yesu Kristo bwana na mwokozi wetu. Amina.

Let’s pray.

Our loving heavenly Father, we glorify You and thank You for Your protection through the night and for the gift of a bright new day. We rejoice and are glad in it. Thank You for counting us among Your remnants, not because we are deserving, but because Your mercies are new every morning.

Merciful Father, we confess our sins and trespasses before You. Your Word says that if we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves. Cleanse us with the blood of the sacrificial Lamb, and remove our sins as far as the east is from the west, that we may find favour in Your sight.

Lord, we pray for Your mighty visitation upon the heavy-laden, the suffering, and the vulnerable. Carry their burdens, grant them rest, and open new chapters of peace and joy in their lives. Give them a new song for Your glory.

Father, we dedicate Kenya to You. Guide our leaders to walk in integrity, shunning selfishness, greed, and corruption. May they serve the welfare of the people above political ambition. Let peace, unity, and justice prevail in our land. We ask for the right measure of rain, that our borders may be filled with plenty.

Lord, strengthen Your body, the church, and its leadership worldwide. Help us to stand firm in faith amidst trials, and make us the light and salt of this world as we propagate Your Word to all corners of the earth as You commanded.

Merciful God, bless our families with peace that surpasses understanding. May harmony and unity dwell among us, for strong families are the pillars of both church and nation. As Your Word says in Psalm 133:3, it is pleasant when God's people live together in unity.

Father, look upon every person praying with us now. Search their hearts, perceive their desires, and graciously answer their petitions according to Your will.

As we begin this day, Lord, guide our footsteps, scatter all darkness, and let Your grace rest upon us in all our endeavours.

We trust that You know all our prayers, spoken and unspoken. Hear us according to Your great love, through Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. Amen.

Tuoshe ili tutakate k**a theluji.

Baba, kunao wana wako wengi wanaokumbwa na masaibu mengi na kulemewa na mizigo mizito. Let us pray:

Our loving heavenly Father, we glorify You as we sincerely thank You for Your protection throughout the dark night that has passed and for the gift of a bright new day in which we rejoice and are glad. Thank You for making us Your remnants. We know we are not the most deserving of all, but Your mercies are new every morning.

Our merciful Father, we beseech You to forgive us our sins and trespasses. Our sins are always before our eyes, and Your Word says that if we claim we have not sinned, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. As we approach the commemoration of Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem and the start of Holy Week, we pray You cleanse us with the blood of the sacrificial Lamb and remove our sins as far as the east is from the west, so we may find favour and acceptance in Your sight.

Our Lord, we pray for Your mighty and merciful visitation upon all the heavy-laden, the suffering, the vulnerable, and those of us who are going through difficulties of any kind. We pray You carry their heavy loads and come to their aid according to their needs. Remove all suffering from them so they may have Your rest and peace. May You give them a new song and open for them a new chapter in their lives, for Your name’s sake.

Lord, we dedicate Kenya, our land and nation, to You. We pray that You guide our leaders so they may lead Your people in the way of prosperity, peace, and unity. Help them to shun selfishness and greed. May they always mind the welfare of the people You have entrusted to them, especially during these hard economic times. We pray that peace and unity among all people may always prevail. We thank You for the rains and pray that they will be showers of blessings, resulting in plenty within our borders.

Our Father, we pray for Your body—the church—and its leadership throughout the world. Give us the strength to stand firm and steadfast, especially at this time when we face all forms of obstacles and hardships. May You help us to withstand them and always make us the salt and light of this dark and tasteless world.

Our God, mercifully look upon our families and send us Your peace which surpasses all human understanding. May all people in our families coexist in harmony and unity, for strong families are the pillars of the church and the nation.

Father, look mercifully upon every person praying with me at this moment. Look at their hearts and perceive what they earnestly desire, and answer the prayers they have presented to You from time to time, O Lord. All glory unto You.

Ee Mungu uliye nguvu yetu, twaleta sifa na shukrani kwako kwa ajili ya neema na upendo wako mkuu. Twakushukuru kwa kutulinda usiku kucha na kutuamsha asubuhi hii, tukiingia juma la mwisho la kutafakari siku arobaine za masaibu na mateso aliyopitia Mwokozi wetu Yesu Kristo. Twakuomba utusaidie kuzingatia mambo yafaayo wakati huu wa Saumu—kusali, kufunga na kutoa zaka tukiwa na moyo wa unyenyekevu na uaminifu.

Twakuomba kwa unyenyekevu utusamehe dhambi zetu zote, utusafishe kwa damu ya Yesu Kristo, utuondolee dhambi zetu ziwe mbali nasi k**a mashariki ilivyo mbali na magharibi, na utufanye safi k**a theluji ili tuweze kutenda mapenzi yako daima.

Tunawakabidhi mikononi mwako wote walio na masaibu na dhiki—wagonjwa, wenye njaa, waliofiwa, wakaao maeneo ya vita na wote wanaohitaji faraja yako. Uwaguse kwa mkono wako wa huruma na uwabebee mizigo yao, maana nira yako ni nyepesi na mzigo wako ni mwepesi.

Mfalme Mwema, tunalikabidhi taifa letu la Kenya kwako. Wape viongozi wetu hekima yako ili waongoze watu wako kwa haki na kwa maslahi ya wote. Twakushukuru kwa mvua inayozidi kunyesha tukikusihi iwe ya baraka wala isituletee maafa. Twaomba utuletee amani na ustawi ndani ya mipaka ya nchi yetu, ili wananchi wote wapate kubarikiwa kwa utukufu wa jina lako.

Tunaliweka kanisa lako mikononi mwako. Wape viongozi na wahudumu wako ujasiri na hekima ya kuwaelekeza watu wako kwa Neno lako. Utuzidishie nguvu na maarifa ili tuwe nuru na chumvi ya dunia, tukisambaza Neno lako kila pembe ya dunia.

Tunazikabidhi jamii zetu kwako, Ee Baba, ili utuletee amani, upendo na maridhiano baina ya wazazi na watoto, ndugu kwa ndugu na watu wote katika jamii zetu.

Mungu mkuu, tunayo mahitaji mengi tuliyoomba faraghani na hadharani. Twakusihi utusikie na ututimizie maombi yetu ili wanaokudharau wajue Wewe ni Mungu mweza yote. Kamwe tusiaibike maana tumeliweka tumaini letu lote kwako pekee.

Twakusihi, Ee Baba, utuongoze na utulinde siku yote nzima. Utuwezeshe kuenenda vyema ili tuangaze wema wako kwa kila mmoja tupatanaye naye. Tuondolee hatari zote kwenye mapito yetu.

Let’s pray.

Our gracious Father and merciful Lord, we lift our hearts in thanksgiving and praise, declaring You alone worthy of honour and adoration. We thank You for Your love, goodness, and mercy which have brought us into this new day. Truly, “This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

Merciful Father, forgive us our sins and trespasses, especially in this Lenten season as we reflect on Christ’s suffering and death. We are humbled by how we have wronged You and others. Do not judge us by the weight of our sins, but cleanse us with the blood of the Lamb and make us whole, for “Nothing but the blood of Jesus” can atone.

Compassionate God, we lift up the sick, the grieving, the hungry, the oppressed, and all who lack peace. Visit them with Your power, ease their burdens, wipe their tears, and open new chapters of hope. You alone are their refuge.

Lord, we pray for our nation, its leaders, and its people. Grant us peace and stability, and give our leaders wisdom to act for the good of all, especially in these hard times. We thank You for the rains and pray they yield abundant harvests for both people and livestock. Teach us to use this blessing wisely.

We pray for Your church worldwide. Strengthen us to boldly proclaim Your gospel and be a fountain of hope. May we be salt and light in a dark world, steadfast against the attacks of the evil one who seeks to hinder our worship and thanksgiving.

Merciful Father, bless our families with peace and unity, knowing strong families build strong communities, churches, and nations.

Lord, each of us has unique needs, and we trust You already know them. Hear us and meet us at our points of need. May we never be ashamed, for our trust is in You.

Guide, counsel, and protect us throughout this rain-filled day as we work and fulfill our commitments. May our steps always please You.

Ee Mungu Mwenyezi na Baba yetu wa mbinguni, tunalitukuza Jina Lako Takatifu asubuhi hii, tukikushukuru kwa dhati kwa ulinzi wako usiku uliopita na kwa kutufanya mabaki yako teule katika siku hii mpya yenye mwangaza. Kwa ujasiri tunatangaza na kutamka kwamba hii ndiyo siku Uliyoifanya, nasi tutafurahi na kushangilia.

Ee Bwana, Neno Lako latukumbusha kwamba tukisema hatuna dhambi, tunajidanganya wenyewe, na kweli haimo ndani yetu. Tunapoendelea na msimu huu wa Saumu, tunakusihi kwa moyo wote utusamehe dhambi zetu zote na makosa yetu. Tunaomba uziondoe mbali nasi k**a vile Mashariki ilivyo mbali na Magharibi. Tunyunyizie maji yako matakatifu na utusafishe kwa damu ya thamani ya Mwanakondoo, na utufanye tukubalike machoni pako, Ee Bwana.

Bwana, tunakuletea walio dhaifu, wanaopitia magumu, na wenye uhitaji. Ee Bwana, tunakuomba ukumbuke rehema. Mfalme wa wafalme, tunaomba kwa ajili ya taifa letu la Kenya, tukijua vyema kwamba uliichora mipaka yake hata kabla ya mwanzo wa wakati. Tunaomba kwa dhati kwamba daima kuwe na amani, upendo, na mshik**ano kati ya jamii zetu mbalimbali na katika kila sehemu ya nchi yetu. Waongoze viongozi wetu na uwape hekima yako ya mbinguni ili watuongoze kulingana na mapenzi yako bila tamaa, ufisadi, na ubinafsi. Haki iwe daima ngao na mlinzi wetu. Tunakushukuru kwa mvua na tunaomba baraka zako juu ya ardhi yetu ili wingi upatikane ndani ya mipaka yetu.

Bwana wa rehema, tunaomba kwa ajili ya mwili wako, kanisa, ili ulitie nguvu kusimama imara na kuchukua nafasi yake k**a sauti ya maadili katika jamii. Tunaomba ulinzi wako wa kiungu tunaposambaza Injili yako hadi miisho ya dunia, k**a ulivyoamuru katika Neno Lako. Tunatangaza na kutamka kwamba nguvu ya damu inamshinda shetani! Hakuna silaha itakayoundwa dhidi yetu na shetani na mawakala wake itakayofanikiwa. Injili lazima isambae duniani kote kwa gharama yoyote. Bwana, twaomba utufanye nuru na chumvi ya dunia.

E Mola, tunaomba kwa ajili ya familia zetu ili utupe amani na mshik**ano, kwa kuwa familia imara ndizo nguzo za jamii imara, kanisa imara, na taifa imara. Utusaidie kukuza amani na upendo na kuepuka mabishano, farakano, na chuki miongoni mwa watu wa familia moja.

Baba mpendwa, sisi watoto wako tupo hapa kuonyesha upendo na imani yetu kuu kwako. Hatutambui mungu mwingine, kwa kuwa miungu mingine yote ni kazi ya mikono ya wanadamu. Wewe ni Mungu mwenye nguvu na tumaini letu pekee. Unajua matamanio na haja ya mioyo yetu. Unajua yale tumekuwa tukiyatarajia, Ee Baba mpendwa. Tunajua kwamba ukiwa upande wetu, hakuna atakayekuwa dhidi yetu. Tusiwe kamwe washindwa au wenye aibu, wala tusidhihakiwe na wale wanaokudharau.

Tunapoanza siku hii, Baba mwenye huruma na upendo, tunaomba baraka zako, kibali chako, mwongozo wako, na ulinzi wako tunapotekeleza majukumu yetu ya kawaida. Mkono wako wenye nguvu na huruma uwe juu yetu kutawanya giza na kusafisha njia zetu dhidi ya hatari zote. Utupatie nguvu ya kuiga Kristo na kufuata nyayo zake siku nzima na zaidi.

Bwana, tunaomba utujalie kwa neema maombi na dua zetu kulingana na upendo wako mkuu na huruma yako, kwa jina la Mungu Baba, Mungu Mwana, na Mungu Roho Mtakatifu. Amina.
