P.C.E.A Umoja Parish-T.E.E for TEENS Graduation

P.C.E.A Umoja parish located in Nakuru East Presbytery. Was honoured to have a graduation ceremony for children that are transitioning to the adolescent stage, a lot happens in their physical and emotional make up.
They find themselves in a stage marked with identity confusion as they are no longer children, but they are yet to become youth.
In attempt to search for identity, this becomes a stage of exploration, and they therefore become very vulnerable to be misguided, taken advantage of, and abused. It is for this reason that the T.E.E Department started a two-year mentorship program known as the T.E.E. Mentorship course (TEE for Teens).

As we are approaching the August holidays, we would like to remind you about the
*The Crossing Mentorship Course*

This course is specifically designed for preteens (11-14yrs old). It is teaching in a story form with daily devotions. The devotional pages contain probing questions, scripture verses, wisdom for living, suggestions for prayer, and reflective journaling.
The Crossing uses the wildebeest analogy to prepare teens for their migration from childhood to adulthood. It warns them of the dangers that lie ahead of them and shows them how to navigate through the changes that occur at puberty, as well as building their capacity to confront the challenges of adolescence.
These objectives are achieved through the five units in this course as listed below:
*Stepping Stone One* – This is the first level. It focuses on helping the child form an identity of his/her own by guiding them to answer the question “who am I” from a Christian perspective.
*Stepping Stone Two* – The second level helps the teenagers develop a positive value system by exploring the question: “what are my morals and values”?
*Stepping Stone Three* – This third level helps the students answer the question “How can I survive school”? It prepares them to adjust to the new environment of high school, which they have never been and, of course, carries various challenges with it.
*Stepping Stone Four* – This is the fourth level that focuses on the question “what I believe”. It will help the teens to form a strong Christian foundation.
*Stepping Stone Five* - The final level helps the teens answer the questions “how I can make an impact in the world”. It helps them explore the opportunities they have made a difference in society.
There is also a *teacher’s/ mentor’s guide* book, which guides the mentor/teacher on the weekly or monthly encounter with the learners.
