Scripture calls us to be prepared to answer everyone who asks about our faith. As a church community, we are being challenged to grow in this area. To become people who can explain our faith, not to win arguments but to help others see the truth of who Jesus is.
We are living in a time where people are informed, curious, and searching. Each time a conversation about Jesus arises, simply saying “just believe” is often not enough for someone who is genuinely trying to understand.

This is where apologetics comes in. We must ready our hearts and minds to speak with intellectual capacity and challenge worldly systems with clarity.

For too long, we have approached conversations trying to win debates.

But we are not called to win arguments.
We are called to win hearts.

Let us be a people who are ready to listen, respond wisely and speak boldly. Not to prove others wrong but so that they may come to know Jesus Christ and embrace Him.

Salvation is not a one-time event; it’s a daily walk with the Lord. Some days we smile, some days we cry, but in every circumstance, we never give up our faith.

We are blessed to live in a time where we can practice our faith freely. The early disciples, however, faced unimaginable persecution. Many were beaten, imprisoned, and even killed for proclaiming the gospel (Acts 7:54–60, 2 Timothy 3:12).

Historical records tell of Christians being martyred, some burned alive, simply for holding on to their faith
Today, we have the privilege of praising God openly. Yet how often do we forget to share the gospel with others?

In some countries, Christians still live in fear, hiding their faith to survive. Let us, who enjoy freedom, be grateful for this day. Let us focus on what truly matters. The treasure we carry in us.

As we cultivate gratitude this week, let us give thanks for:

The ability to worship freely
The grace God has given us to carry Christ in our hearts
The gift of salvation, freedom, and life itself

Today, let us be thankful not just in words, but in spirit for the immeasurable blessings we often take for granted.

A tower was literally a tall, fortified structure often part of a city’s walls or a standalone stronghold used for defense and protection.

In mediaeval times people could climb to the top to watch for enemies, and if attacked, they could take refuge inside because it was strong and secure.

So when Proverbs 18:10 says, “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe,” it’s using the tower as a metaphor: just like people could flee to a tower to be protected from danger, we can trust in God’s name for safety, security, and refuge.

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:18

As children of God, we are called to do the will of our Father. Jesus lived to do the will of the Father and it pleased God. In the same way, we are called to live in a way that pleases Him.

One simple instruction, yet often the hardest to follow, is this: give thanks in all circumstances.

Not just when things are going well.
Not just when prayers are answered.
But in all circumstances.
Even in difficult seasons
Even when the road is heavy
Even when we feel weary

There is always something to be thankful for.
Gratitude shifts our focus. It reminds us that no matter what we face, we are still children of God and His promises over our lives remain true.

So this week, let us practice gratitude. 🙏

Let us thank God in every situation.
On the good days and the hard days.
Because through it all He is still God, and we are still His children.

The presence of the Lord is our assurance.

One thing we must be confident in is this: God is always with us.
“I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5
Because of this, we are not alone. We are not abandoned. We are held.
Scripture reminds us:
Psalms 16:5–11
“Lord, You alone are my portion and my cup; You make my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.”

God is our portion.
He secures what concerns us.
He orders our lives with purpose.
He counsels us.
He instructs us even in the quiet moments of the night.

So we must choose to keep our eyes on Him.

“I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With Him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” Psalms 16:8

This is our confidence.
When we stay close to Him, we are steady.
When we trust Him, we are secure.
When we walk with Him, we are filled with joy.

“You make known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence.” — Psalms 16:11

As we begin this week, let this be our posture:

Let us worship Him at all times. 🙏
Let our lips be filled with praise in every season.
Let us trust that His Word is true.

And let us pray that He makes His paths known to us so that we may walk uprightly and please Him.

Forgiveness is necessary for healing. 🌿

We cannot hold things against a brother, sister, spouse, and still expect grace from God that forgives us each time we fail.

Jesus said clearly:
“If you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” — Matthew 6:14 📖

Yet one thing that has wounded the church community is brethren who refuse to forgive each other.

This clouds the heart, making it difficult to hear God.
Instead of becoming merciful children, we turn into accusers always presenting before God the wrongs of another. 😔

Peter once asked Jesus,
“Lord, how many times shall I forgive? Up to seven times?”

And Jesus answered:
“I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.” — Matthew 18:21–22

Many times Jesus said,
“I desire mercy, not sacrifice.” — Matthew 9:13
Our offerings, our service, even our loud prayers mean little if we lack mercy in our relationships.

Can we show mercy as we were shown mercy?
Can we refuse grudges in the body of Christ, in our families, and our workplace? 🙏

Let us forgive without competing, without conspiring, without trying to appear holier or better than others.
Forgiveness is what we received through Christ (Colossians 3:13).

It is what we must give back relentlessly
again and again because mercy heals.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. James 1:5

Every situation in the Christian Walk requires wisdom.
Yet how often have we walked in foolishness, neglecting God’s call to seek His wisdom?

Scripture shows us where wisdom begins:
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom...” Proverbs 9:10
If there is no fear of the Lord in us, we cannot be wise.

James further elaborates on what this wisdom looks like:

The wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. James 3:17

This brings wisdom close to home.
It is not just about decisions.
It is about character.

So when you do a self-audit, ask yourself:
• Do I truly fear the Lord?
• Do I act in purity?
• Am I peace-loving, or does conflict follow me wherever I go?
• Am I considerate?
• Am I submissive? (1 Peter 2:13–23)

Scripture says we are called to submit even when we have done good and suffer for it and that this is commendable before God.

• Am I merciful?
• What do the fruits I bear look like?
• Am I impartial, or do I take sides when making judgments?
• Am I sincere in my walk with God?
• Am I sincere in my relationships?

James shows us that wisdom is reflected not only in our choices, but in how we live inwardly and outwardly.

Let us seek the Lord’s wisdom because He gives generously without blaming us for lacking.

Sunday service was deeply reflective when the pastor asked a powerful question:

If you were Jesus, what would you do to Judas, knowing he would betray you?

Many of the answers that came to mind were very human...stop him, confront him, remove him. And yet, this question revealed something important: how much we, as believers, still need to empty ourselves.

Scripture tells us that Jesus, though He was God, emptied Himself and took the form of a servant. He humbled Himself and became obedient even to death on a cross (Philippians 2:6–8).

He did nothing to protect His own image or defend His power. He chose humility so that we might have life.

This brings the question closer to home:
How do we respond when we are mistreated, provoked, or misunderstood?

When others overstep, persecute us, or frustrate us—do we choose humility, or do we assert ourselves because we can?

Jesus is the perfect picture of self-emptying. He allowed Himself to be mocked, beaten, stripped, and crucified by the very people He came to save.
He did it for the glory of the Father, and because of this, we now have the privilege of calling God Abba, Father.

In the same way, we must do the will of the father, and act on the mission we have been given. To reconcile people to God, and advance the kingdom of God in the earth. God does not ask us to be perfect or experienced.

He asks us to be willing. Just as He told Gideon to go in the strength he had, He calls us to go with what we have. We are to offer ourselves fully, even when we feel inadequate, so that others may find life.

This is a sobering reminder:
We must empty ourselves of self so that God can fill us.

The harvest is plentiful. The work is clear.
Let us do the work we have been given.

How will you live this out in your family, in your workplace, and in your church community?

📖 “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20

Faith is not optional in the Christian Walk. It is the foundation.

We cannot walk with God without faith, and we cannot afford to live in disobedience because straying from God weakens our faith. When we drift, doubt grows louder. Fear increases. The enemy begins to whisper that God will not answer us.

The disciples understood this need and cried out:
📖 “Lord, increase our faith!” Luke 17:5

This should be our prayer too. Every day. “Lord, increase my faith.”

Faith is strengthened in obedience. When we choose God’s will over our own, our trust in Him deepens. But when we ignore His voice, our confidence shrinks.

The issue is not the size of faith, but the greatness of the God in whom that faith is placed. Many believers struggle because we unconsciously magnify problems and uncertainties more than we magnify God.

We underestimate the fact that;
Jesus fed five thousand with two fish and five loaves
He called Lazarus out of the grave
He raised Jairus’ daughter from death
He healed all kinds of diseases
He cast out demons and broke all kinds of chains
Above all, He Himself rose from the dead and so much more...

This same Jesus has given us authority and power through the Holy Spirit. Yet today, many believers forget the power of Jesus Christ.

We magnify worldly pressures, entertain worry, and allow fear to dominate our thoughts. When we pray, we must pray believing that God is able.

Faith requires consistency. We cannot drift from God. We must put on the full armor of God.

📖 “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” — Ephesians 6:11

Faith is a weapon. It is our shield in battle and the only way we can truly walk with God. Let us walk boldly in Christ, anchored in His promises, confident that no mountain stands higher than the power of our Lord.
