Let us Pray

Almighty, ever-living God,
make our hearts more open to your love
in these days of Eastertide,
when you have made known to us the depth of that love.
You have rescued us from the darkness of error:
make us adhere more firmly to the teachings of your truth.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
Amen.

________

The Lord bless us, and keep us from all evil, and bring us to everlasting life.
Amen.

โš ๏ธ ST. PADRE PIOโ€™S WARNINGS ABOUT CONFESSION MOST CATHOLICS IGNORE โœ๏ธ

St. Padre Pio was known as one of the greatest confessors in the history of the Church. Thousands traveled from around the world just to confess to him because he understood the seriousness of sin and the power of Godโ€™s mercy.

Here are some of the warnings he gave that many Catholics still ignore today:

โœ๏ธ Going to confession without true repentance
Many confess their sins but have no real desire to change. Padre Pio warned that confession without sincere sorrow becomes empty words.

โœ๏ธ Hiding sins in confession
He strongly warned against intentionally withholding mortal sins out of fear or embarrassment. God already knows our sins โ€” confession requires honesty and humility.

โœ๏ธ Receiving Holy Communion in mortal sin
Padre Pio reminded Catholics that the Eucharist is sacred. Receiving Jesus unworthily wounds the soul even more deeply.

โœ๏ธ Treating confession like a routine
Some people rush through confession without examination of conscience, prayer, or reflection. Padre Pio taught that we should prepare seriously before entering the confessional.

โœ๏ธ Returning to sin carelessly
Godโ€™s mercy is infinite, but we must fight against sin with prayer, fasting, discipline, and sincerity. True repentance includes the desire to avoid sin.

โœ๏ธ Neglecting prayer after confession
After confession, many return immediately to distractions. Padre Pio encouraged prayer, thanksgiving, and silence after receiving Godโ€™s forgiveness.

โœ๏ธ Forgetting spiritual warfare is real
Padre Pio often battled demonic attacks personally. He warned that the devil fears confession because it restores grace to the soul and breaks the chains of sin.

Confession is not punishment.
It is healing.
It is mercy.
It is a return to the Fatherโ€™s embrace. ๐Ÿ™

โ€œDo not be afraid to approach the confessional. Jesus is waiting for you there.โ€ โ€” St. Padre Pio

St. Padre Pio, pray for us.

I AM A CATHOLIC, AND I STAND WITH POPE LEO XIV. I STAND IN PRAYER FOR PEACE.

At a time when Donald Trump publicly attacked the Holy Fatherโ€”calling him โ€œweakโ€ and โ€œterribleโ€โ€”we are reminded that the voice of the Church has never been about pleasing political powers. It has always been about proclaiming truth, even when that truth is uncomfortable to those in authority.

When the Pope speaks about peace, he is not speaking from a place of weakness, but from the heart of the Gospel. In a world shaken by conflict, war, and division, choosing dialogue over destruction is not cowardiceโ€”it is courage. Refusing to be drawn into political hostility is not silenceโ€”it is wisdom.

He was not chosen because of nationality or ideology, but because the Holy Spirit called him to shepherd the Church in a time like this. And as he continues to call for peace amid rising global tensions, his message stands in stark contrast to voices that fuel division and aggression.

As Catholics, our response is not to echo insults, but to remain rooted in faith. We stand not in anger, but in prayer. Not in hatred, but in hope.

Because in the end, the Church does not belong to politicsโ€”it belongs to Christ. And no criticism can silence a message grounded in truth, love, and the unwavering call to peace.

10/04/2026

Have you ever wondered what happens to the Paschal Candle after the Easter season ends, or what the Church does with the candles from previous years? The answer is both practical and deeply symbolic, because the Paschal Candle represents the light of Jesus Christ, the Light of the world.

First, the Church does not throw away old Paschal Candles carelessly.
Because the Paschal Candle is a sacred symbol used in worship, especially during the Easter Vigil, it is treated with reverence even after its primary use is over. The Church handles it in a respectful and dignified way.

Second, many churches continue to use the previous Paschal Candle until it is naturally finished.
If the candle is still large and usable, it may continue to be lit during special occasions such as baptisms or funerals. This ensures that the candle fulfills its purpose fully rather than being wasted.

It is about stewardship and respect.

Third, when the Paschal Candle becomes too small or damaged to use, the Church usually disposes of it in a reverent manner.
This is often done by burning the remaining wax completely or burying the remnants in church grounds. These methods show respect for objects that have been set apart for sacred use.

Nothing sacred is treated as ordinary waste.

In some places, the remaining wax from old Paschal Candles is melted down and reused to make new candles for the church.

This practice symbolizes continuity, the light of Christ continues to shine from year to year, even as new candles are prepared.

In the end, the Church treats Paschal Candles from past years with dignity because they have served as a visible sign of Christโ€™s presence among His people. They are not discarded casually but used fully, reused respectfully, or laid to rest reverently.

The message is simple, the light that once burned to proclaim the Resurrection is honored, even after the flame has gone out.

Now you know.
