Dr. Joshua Talena, during his ministration at Omega Fire Ministries South Africa, shared how a female music minister attended his meeting many years ago to minister in song. Let me inspire today being 1st February u can do better ds 2026
He was very keen on maximizing time during the service; therefore, he insisted on not giving her a platform.
The female minister, however, pleaded persistently for an opportunity to bless the people.
Reluctantly, Dr Talena instructed that only 20 minutes be given to her.
The lady ministered within the stipulated time frame and was given a cash honorarium of #100,000 after the meeting.
She left excitedly.
A few years later, that same minister had evolved to become a global brand in the gospel music sphere.
She became one of the most sought-after music ministers in Nigeria.
Dr Talena said he sought to host the same lady, but this time it was extremely difficult to get her attention.
He, however, succeeded in bringing her to his church and gave her a cash honorarium of 5 million naira.
Guess who the lady is?
Minister Mercy Chinwo.
It was the same lady who had begged him for a chance to minister years back, but today, the story is different.
My focus here is not on the amount of the honorarium, nor on the debate over whether a music minister should charge.
Instead, my emphasis is on the wonders of growth and how it can produce numerous positive changes in a man’s life.
This made me realize that every area of our lives where we are despised or face rejection is an indication that we need to intensify our growth in that area.
Rejection is a message from your destiny that your growth level is minimal.
Therefore, the biggest response to rejection is GROWTH.
Instead of becoming bitter at those who despise or reject you, utilize such energy to pursue growth and watch how the table will turn.
When growth is in place, value will increase and when value increase, the rejected will become the accepted and eventually the celebrated.
Let this inspire you.
Your commitment to personal growth and development will always remain your biggest strategy to attain relevance in this generation.
MAY WE GROW
