DOVE Congo | New Update
There are several regions where our churches continue to struggle with threats of violence and regional wars. Our churches in the Democratic Republic of Congo are greatly impacted by a regional civil war between the DRC military and M23 rebel forces. The church in Bukavu, a city under the control of militant rebel groups, is now hosting nearly 200 refugees from DOVE churches in the Goma region. They provide shelter, food, and help the children attend school. It echoes Paul describing the Macedonians: "In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability" (2 Corinthians 8:2-3).
Many challenges remain, and it has overwhelmed the already strained resources in this region. We have responded from our crisis relief fund, and with your help we can respond more. We thank God that there have been no casualties among DOVE members in the DRC and that believers continue to serve the Lord with enthusiasm.
