PCEA Rurii Church

PCEA Rurii Church PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF EAST AFRICA. This Church expresses the faith of the Reformed tradition.

The Presbyterian Church of East Africa is part of the Holy Catholic or Universal Church; worshiping God Almighty, All-wise, and All-loving, in the Trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, the same in substance, equal in power and glory; adoring the Father, infinite in majesty, of whom are all things; confessing our Lord Jesus Christ, the Eternal Son, made very man for our salvation, gl

orying in His cross and resurrection and owing obedience to Him as the Head over all things in His Church; trusting in the promised renewal and guidance of the Holy Spirit, proclaiming the forgiveness of sins and acceptance by God through faith in Christ and the gift of eternal life; and labouring for the advancement of the Kingdom of God throughout the world. This Church receives the Word of God, contained in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, as its supreme rule of faith and life; avows the fundamental doctrines of the Catholic faith founded thereupon, and in its interpretation and teaching thereof adheres to the guiding principles of the Protestant Reformation. This Church receives the historic Confessions of the Faith known as the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, and Short Catechism as containing the same substance of faith of the Church. Until such time as this Church shall exercise its right to frame its own Confession of Faith, it adopts as a subordinate standard the statement known as The Short Statement of Faith adopted by the Presbytery of East Africa in the year 1943. Central to this tradition is the affirmation of the majesty, holiness, and providence of God which creates, sustains, rules and redeems the world in the freedom of sovereign righteousness and love. Related to this central affirmation of God’s sovereignty are the other great themes of the Reformation, such as:
the election of the people of God for service as well as for salvation, covenant life marked by a disciplined concern for order in the Church according to the Word of God; a faithful stewardship that shuns ostentation and improper use of the gifts of God’s creation:
the recognition of the human tendency to idolatry and tyranny, and the need to call the people of God to work for the transformation of society by seeking justice and living in obedience to the Word of God; and the motto Ecclesia reformanda, semper reformanda. “the Church reformed, always being reformed.”

THEME: LOCAL CHURCH, MISSION & EVANGELISM

2 Peter 3:17–18

PRAYER
🌺🌼🌸
🌸 Heavenly Father, our gracious and eternal God,
We come before You with humble and thankful hearts. You are the Lord of the Church, the Head of the Body, and the Master of the harvest. To You alone be glory, honor, and praise—now and forever. Amen.
🌸 Lord, we thank You for Your Word that warns us, guides us, and calls us to growth. Guard our hearts and minds so that we may not be carried away by error, compromise, or lawlessness. Help us to stand firm and to grow daily in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
🌸 Father, we surrender our bodies, minds, and desires to You.
Help us to discipline ourselves and to put to death the fleshly nature. Let the refining fire of the Holy Spirit work deeply within us—purifying our hearts, renewing our minds, and shaping us into vessels of honor that You can use for Your glory in the local church, in mission, and in evangelism.
🌸 Lord, we lift up our local churches before You.
Release revival among us—revival in our pulpits, revival in our worship, revival in our homes, and revival in our hearts. Stir dedication, commitment, and spiritual growth among all members. May every church group and ministry bear fruit that remains.
🌸 Father, we bring before You our church leaders—ministers, elders, and all entrusted with leadership. We ask for Your divine protection over their lives and callings, especially against the subtle and destructive temptations of the three Fs.
🌸 Protect them from moral failure and sexual temptation—female or male.
Grant them purity of heart, discipline of mind, and integrity in conduct. Help them to flee from immorality and to walk in holiness, accountability, and faithfulness.
🌸 Guard our leaders from the temptation of finance.
Preserve them from greed, corruption, misuse of resources, and the love of money. Teach them to be faithful stewards, content in You, transparent, and upright in all financial matters.
🌸 Father, shield them from the temptation of fame.
Deliver them from pride, the desire for recognition, and self-glory. Keep them humble at the foot of the cross, remembering that leadership is service and that all glory belongs to You alone.
🌸 Lord, cover the families of our leaders with Your peace.
Strengthen marriages, protect children, restore joy where there is weariness, and renew strength as they face difficult church dynamics. Help them to fix their eyes on Jesus and to depend fully on the Holy Spirit for guidance, strength, and empowerment.
🌸 Father, we pray for the entire congregation.
Teach us to seek Your face continually, to love Your Word, and to apply it faithfully in our daily lives. Grant us patience in affliction and perseverance in trials, that we may grow to maturity—complete and lacking nothing.
🌸 Lord, we commit mission and evangelism into Your hands.
Let the church arise and boldly proclaim the Gospel—from our Jerusalem to the ends of the earth. Give us courage to speak Your truth in love and compassion for the lost.
🌸 Raise strong discipleship programs for new believers.
Ignite in us a hunger and thirst for prayer, the Word, and fellowship. Raise Friends of Mission and men and women with a heart for the lost and the broken.
🌸 We pray for mission projects such as the Mother Esther Girls Rescue Centre, water projects, and all outreach initiatives. Provide resources, favor, and effective mobilization. Let lives be transformed and communities renewed through these works of love.
🌸 Father, we remember missionaries, evangelists, pastors, teachers, and all Christian workers.
Anoint them afresh with the Holy Spirit. Strengthen them, protect them, and let the power of the Gospel be evident through their service.
🌸 Finally, Lord, help us as members of PCEA to honor You in all our decisions, actions, and relationships. Let our lives be a living testimony of Your grace, truth, and love.
🌸 We surrender the local church, mission, and evangelism fully into Your hands.
Do exceedingly and abundantly above all we ask or imagine.
🌸 To You alone be all the glory, now and forever.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior we pray, Amen. 🌸
