Luke 4:14-21

In the Gospel reading, Jesus reads from the scroll of the prophet Isaiah in the synagogue, proclaiming:

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord."

He then declares, "Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing."

This passage emphasizes Jesus' mission to bring hope, healing, and liberation. It invites the faithful to reflect on how they can continue Christ's mission in their own lives, bringing good news to the poor and freedom to the oppressed.
