BREAKING NEWS:
It's now official Rev. Fr. John Mwandi is the new Bishop-Elect of the Catholic Diocese of Kitui.
The news has been announced by Bishop Joseph Mwongela at our Lady of Africa Kitui Cathedral .

Until his appointment, Very Rev. Fr. John Mwandi had been serving as the Vicar General of the Diocese of Kitui and Parish Priest of Holy Spirit Mulutu Parish.

Archbishop Maurice Muhatia Makumba of the Catholic Archdiocese of Kisumu has today erected a new parish; St. Anthony of Padua Ligega which until its er****on was under St. Leo the Great Catholic Parish - Mban.

The Archbishop has Apointed Rev. Fr. Norbert Ogonya as the Parish Priest.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HIS GRACE MOST.REV.ARCHBISHOP PETER JOSEPH KAIRO,ARCHBISHOP EMERITUS OF CATHOLIC ARCHDIOCESE OF NYERI.

His Grace was Born on May 24, 1941,83 Years ago in Londiani, Kenya . On November 1, 1970, at St. Mary's Parish Molo, he was ordained as a priest of The Catholic Diocese of Nakuru by the late Archbishop Ndingi Mwana'a Nzeki.

On March 17, 1983, he was appointed as the Bishop of The Catholic Diocese of Muran'ga Just a few months later, on May 21, 1983, he was ordained and officially installed as the Bishop of Muran'ga.

His dedication and leadership continued to shine, and on April 21, 1997, he was appointed as the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Nakuru . His tireless service and commitment were recognized, leading to his appointment as the Archbishop of Nyeri on April 19, 2008. He was later installed in this esteemed position on June 14, 2008.

After reaching the age of 75, as per the Canon law, Archbishop Kairo retired on April 23, 2017.
