Position can be given instantly, but character is built over time. If that process is rushed, leadership becomes fragile and often harmful.
What happens when promotion is faster than transformation:
Responsibility exposes immaturity
Authority amplifies hidden weaknesses
Pressure reveals lack of depth
Influence spreads unrefined character to others
Biblical support:
1 Timothy 3:6
“Not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall…”
→ Promotion without maturity leads to collapse.
Luke 16:10
“He who is faithful in little is faithful also in much…”
→ Growth and faithfulness must be proven before greater responsibility.
Proverbs 4:18
“The path of the righteous is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter…”
→ Growth is progressive, not instant.
Summary:
Rushing people into leadership may look efficient, but it is spiritually dangerous. True wisdom allows time for transformation, ensuring that when promotion comes, the person can carry it with strength, humility, and consistency.
