DR. JACK CHEROP: THE DOCTOR TURNING HIS LENS ON KENYA'S HEALTHCARE STORY
He spends his days saving lives in Baringo North's toughest terrain. In his other life, he picks up a camera — and saves stories from being forgotten.
Meet Dr. Jack Cherop: a medical doctor by profession, a storyteller by calling.
From over 6,400 entrants in the Safaricom & M-PESA Foundations' "Capture the Good Challenge" , he has fought his way to the Top 9 national finalists — armed with nothing but a single photograph and a story only a doctor could truly tell.
His winning image, "Beds of Dignity," captures a quiet revolution at Kui Kui Health Centre — where mothers, children and the elderly once shared worn-out mattresses. New adjustable hospital beds, funded by the Safaricom Foundation, restored something money can't easily buy: dignity.
Dr. Cherop didn't just witness this transformation. He lived it, as a doctor who has treated patients on those very mattresses.
That's what sets him apart. He's not an outsider pointing a camera at poverty — he's an insider showing us hope.
Now the story moves to its final chapter, and you decide what happens next.
If he wins, the prize goes beyond a trophy — it funds a community project in his name, back home in Baringo North. A doctor's photograph could become a lasting gift to his own people.
One man. Two callings. One community waiting to benefit.
Vote for Jack Cherop. Let Baringo North's story reach the top.
