-Today christians are looking for solutions where it's not
Jeremiah 2:11Jer.2.11 - Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.
Jer.2.12 - Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the LORD.
Jer.2.13 - For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
- This foreign God can't speak nor hear but the hearts of men have turned to them
The traditional God demand/advocate for
*Sacrifices (Blood for biding covenants)
*They major on circumcision especially women circumcision
*Pray with certain conditions and postures
*it majors on Meat and drunkardness
*They target the weak and poor in the society

THE POWER IN WORDS
-God has exalted his word above his name
Ps.119.130 - The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.
Gen.1.3 - And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
*It's by words that what we see was created
-Words have creative power
-it's the words of the gospel that we hear that pulled us to salvation
-it's by the word of God that we are transformed and made new
-There is power in spoken words
Gen.22.16 - And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:
Gen.22.17 - That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
Joel.3.10 - Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.
-life and death , blessings and curses are on our mouths
-we shall give an account of every words we spoke
- confession brings possession
-we shall overcome by the testimonies of our mouths

-words are messages to our destiny
-We have been given the Name of Jesus Christ to proclaim it

SEDUCING SPIRITS

1Tim.4.1 - Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
1Tim.4.2 - Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
1Tim.4.3 - Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

2Tim.3.1 - This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2Tim.3.2 - For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

2Tim.4.10 - For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.
- seducing spirits have turned many believers to turn away from Christ
- poor doctrines are schemes that the devil is using to corrupt believers mind
Luke.17.1 - Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!
- The devil will set snares on men to destroy human relationship with God
- offences in the lifes of the believers has snatched them the joy of salvation
- When men love the world they become enemies to God
- when believers are lovers of the world they start running away from the fellowship of believers
1Cor.15.33 - Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
-The devil is in the work of corrupting and turning men's heart a way from God
- The company of people you spend time with can be seducing spirits that can turn you into a sinner
- It's by prayers, fasting and reading the word of God that we shall know this seducing spirits
- It's for believers to stand farm and contend for their salvation because more difficult times are coming
- This seducing spirits brings bargaining and compromising in spiritual matters

BE SURE THAT YOU ARE SAVED
*Acts.4.12 - Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
*John.14.6 - Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Steps to be sure of our salvation
1.Seeing/understanding our sins
2.Confession of sin
3.Putting faith in Christ
4.Turning away from sin
5.Fix our past life
*Rom.3.23 - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Psalms 51:1-19
- if we sin we should ask for forgiveness and not hide them from God
- if we confess our sins we should thank God for his forgiveness
- we should have faith that by Jesus Christ our sins are forgiven*Rom.1.21 - Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
*Jer.31.34 - And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
*1John.1.9 - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
- After confession we should rest ourselves in Christ believing that he won't remember them any more
*1John.5.13 - These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
-after confession and walking the journey of repentance we should run away from those sin

WALKING WITH GOD
Genesis 3:8-9
*Walking with God is alive long journey of companionship with the devine
*Aligning our steps with him
*It's a spiritual journey and glowing in him
*becoming more like Christ taking away anything separating us
Gen.5.24 - And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
*We should have a fellowship with God
Gen.6.9 - These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
-We should draw near to God by letting him mould us to his desires
Jas.2.23 - And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
The practicality of the journey with God
-its a daily activity/practice not an occasional
- walking the talk(integrity, compassion, forgiveness , justice
Mic.6.8 - He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
-Its not a smooth journey but we shall make mistake and find many difficult but by the character we have developed by the grace of God and repentance
Reward of walking with God
