MAY 31st 2026:TEACHING BY PASTOR DAVID KAGENYI

Today’s message at church centered on a powerful theme: “Foundations and Pillars of Christian Maturity in order to become His Disciples.” A timely reminder that discipleship is not accidental, it is built intentionally in Christ.

1. The Foundation: Jesus Christ

Everything begins with the right foundation. Scripture made it clear that the only true foundation for a believer’s life is Jesus Christ.

We reflected on:

Matthew 7:24–27 — the parable of the wise and foolish builders, where only the house built on the rock withstands storms.
1 Corinthians 3:11 — “For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
Ephesians 2:20 — Christ as the cornerstone upon which the church is built.

The emphasis was simple but deep: if Christ is not the foundation, everything else will eventually collapse under pressure.

2. The Pillars of Christian Maturity

Once the foundation is set, a believer’s life is sustained by spiritual pillars that support growth, stability, and maturity.

a) Scripture

Faith is nourished through the Word of God.

Romans 10:17 — “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”
The Word shapes belief, direction, and spiritual strength.
b) Prayer and Fasting

A life connected to God through discipline and dependence.

Isaiah 58:6 — highlights fasting as a means of breaking bo***ge and aligning with God’s will.
Prayer and fasting sharpen spiritual sensitivity and authority.
c) Fellowship

Christian maturity thrives in community, not isolation.

Acts 2:43 — the early church walked in unity, reverence, and shared life in Christ.
Fellowship strengthens accountability, love, and encouragement.
d) Believing in Christ

Faith in Jesus is central to salvation and righteous living.

John 3:16 — God’s love expressed through Christ.
Romans 10:9 — confession and belief in Jesus as Lord leads to salvation.
Galatians 2:16 — justification comes through faith, not works.

The message also highlighted two spiritual expressions that sustain intimacy with God:

Praise — acknowledging God for what He has done.
Worship — honoring God for who He is.

These are not just church activities, but lifestyles that keep the believer spiritually aligned and humbled before God.

Christian maturity is not built overnight. It is a daily commitment to remain rooted in Christ, strengthened by His Word, sustained in prayer, anchored in fellowship, and expressed through genuine faith, praise, and worship.

A life built this way does not crumble when storms come, it stands firm, because it is founded on the Rock.
