The Church of Christ has several key beliefs and practices in common across its congregations. These shared points are rooted in the New Testament and guide their worship and daily Christian life:
1. Christ Is the Head of the Church
Jesus Christ alone is recognized as the head of the church (Ephesians 1:22–23).
There is no central earthly headquarters or pope.
2. Bible as the Only Authority
The Bible, especially the New Testament, is the sole rule for faith, doctrine, and practice (2 Timothy 3:16–17).
Traditions not found in Scripture are avoided.
3. Name Reflects Ownership by Christ
The name “Church of Christ” is used because the church belongs to Christ (Romans 16:16).
It is seen as a description, not a denominational title.
4. Simple New Testament Worship
Common elements in worship include:
Singing (usually without musical instruments)
Prayer
Teaching and preaching from Scripture
The Lord’s Supper (Communion) every Sunday
Giving as an act of worship
5. Belief in Baptism for the Forgiveness of Sins
Baptism by immersion is essential and is for the forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38; Mark 16:16).
It is done after personal belief and repentance.
6. Unity and Christian Living
Members strive for unity based on Scripture (John 17:20–21).
Emphasis on holy living, love, humility, and obedience to God.
7. Autonomy of Local Congregations
Each congregation governs itself under elders and deacons.
No congregation rules over another.
8. Focus on Evangelism
Teaching the gospel and saving souls is a major mission (Matthew 28:19–20).

THE VOICE OF GOD
Brethren, today many people ask, “Where can I hear the voice of God?” The answer is simple and clear: God speaks through His Word. The Bible is not the voice of man; it is the voice of God revealed to mankind.
The Scripture tells us, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God” (2 Timothy 3:16). When the Word of God is read and preached correctly, it is God speaking to our hearts. This is why the Church of Christ stands firmly on the Scriptures alone.
Jesus Himself said, “He who hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has everlasting life” (John 5:24). Faith does not come from dreams or human opinions, but “by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17).
Therefore, if we desire to hear God’s voice, we must open the Bible, listen with humility, and obey its teachings. When we follow the Word of Christ, we are not following man—we are following God.
May we always listen, believe, and obey the voice of God found in His Word.
Amen.

119:49-56 (NASB)

49 Remember the word to Your servant,
In which You have made me hope.
50 This is my comfort in my affliction,
That Your word has revived me.
51 The arrogant utterly deride me,
Yet I do not turn aside from Your law.
52 I have remembered Your ordinances from of old, O LORD,
And comfort myself.
53 Burning indignation has seized me because of the wicked,
Who forsake Your law.
54 Your statutes are my songs
In the house of my pilgrimage.
55 O LORD, I remember Your name in the night,
And keep Your law.
56 This has become mine,
That I observe Your precepts.

After they saw Jesus perform miracles, they wanted to make him a secular King. Note below.

“When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.”(John 6:15)

Even the Apostles for a short time were thinking secular kingdom. Men today continue to think secular kingdom on earth. Jesus wasn’t hindered in being the king of the kingdom of God. He is King of kings, he is the potentate, he has a kingdom in earth as in heaven, but spiritual. He was given the kingdom from God to be king, with all authority in heaven and in earth. Jesus is King, and men need not try to control something that is of God. The kingdom is within the spiritual heart, ruling the inner man of those that have humbled their hearts to the rule of God.

“It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.”(Psalm. 118:8-9). Man will fail you, God will not!
