A father left 17 Camels as an Asset for his Three Sons.

When the Father passed on, his sons opened the will.

The Will stated that the Eldest son should get Half of 17 Camels;

The Middle Son should be given 1/3rd of 17 Camels;

Youngest Son should be given 1/9th of the 17 Camels;

Since it is not possible to divide 17 into half or 17 by 3 or 17 by 9, the sons started to fight with each other. Finally they decided to go to a wise man and seek his advise.

The wise man went through the will carefully and listened to them keenly. After giving this thought, the wiseman brought one camel of his own and added to the 17. This increased the total to 18 camels.

Now, he started reading their father’s will to them again;

Half of 18 = 9.
So he gave 9 camels to the eldest son.

1/3rd of 18 = 6.
So he gave 6 camels to the middle son.

1/9th of 18 = 2.
So he gave 2 camels to the youngest son.

When you add this up:
9 + 6 + 2 = 17
This leaves 1 camel, which the wise man took back......

MORAL LESSONS:

1. The attitude of negotiation and problem solving is to find the 18th camel i.e. the common ground. Once a person is able to find the common ground, the issue is resolved.

HOW TO CALM YOUR HUSBAND'S MIND

1. MAKE LOVE TO HIM

A man can get tired, a man can go through burn out, a man can question himself, a man can worry, a man can get discouraged; which is why it is important for you to remind him of his greatness, celebrate his achievements and tell him how proud you are of him. This motivates him

9. STAY FAITHFUL TO HIM
Nothing destabilizes a man like when he suspects or finds out that the wife he loves and has given his all to is entertaining, flirting, sleeping with or longing to be with another man. Spare him this torture

10. BE EASY TO TALK TO

HOW THE APOSTLES DIED.

1. Matthew. Suffered martyrdom in Ethiopia, Killed by a sword wound.

2. Mark. Died in Alexandria, Egypt , after being dragged by Horses through the streets until he was dead.

3. Luke. Was hanged in Greece as a result of his tremendous Preaching to the lost.

4. John. Faced martyrdom when he was boiled in huge Basin of boiling oil during a wave of persecution In Rome. However, he was miraculously delivered From death.
John was then sentenced to the mines on the prison Island of Patmos. He wrote his prophetic Book of Revelation on Patmos . The apostle John was later freed and returned to serve As Bishop of Edessa in modern Turkey . He died as an old man, the only apostle to die peacefully

5. Peter. He was crucified upside down on an x shaped cross. According to church tradition it was because he told his tormentors that he felt unworthy to die In the same way that Jesus Christ had died.

6. James. The leader of the church in Jerusalem , was thrown over a hundred feet down from the southeast pinnacle of the Temple when he refused to deny his faith in Christ. When they discovered that he survived the fall, his enemies beat James to death with a fuller's club.

This was the same pinnacle where Satan had taken Jesus during the Temptation.

7. James the Son of Zebedee was a fisherman by trade when Jesus Called him to a lifetime of ministry.

As a strong leader of the church, James was beheaded at Jerusalem. The Roman officer who guarded James watched amazed as James defended his faith at his trial.

Later, the officer Walked beside James to the place of ex*****on. Overcome by conviction, he declared his new faith to the judge and Knelt beside James to accept beheading as a Christian.

8. Bartholomew. Also known as Nathaniel. He Was a missionary to Asia. He witnessed for our Lord in present day Turkey. Bartholomew was martyred for his preaching in Armenia where he was flayed to death by a whip.

9. Andrew. He Was crucified on an x-shaped cross in Patras, Greece. After being whipped severely by seven soldiers they tied his body to the cross with cords to prolong his agony.

His followers reported that, when he was led toward the cross, Andrew saluted it in these words, "I have long desired and expected this happy hour. The cross has been consecrated by the body of Christ hanging on it". He continued to preach to his tormentors For two days until he expired.

10. Thomas. He Was stabbed with a spear in India during one of his missionary trips to establish the church in the Subcontinent.

11. Jude. He Was killed with arrows when he refused to deny his faith in Christ.

12. Matthias. The apostle chosen to replace the traitor Judas Iscariot. He was stoned and then beheaded.

13. Paul. He Was tortured and then beheaded by the evil Emperor Nero at Rome in A.D. 67. Paul endured a lengthy imprisonment, which allowed him to write his many epistles to the churches he had formed throughout the Roman Empire. These letters, which taught many of the foundational Doctrines of Christianity, form a large portion of the New Testament.

Perhaps this is a reminder to us that our sufferings here are indeed minor to compare to the intense persecution and cold cruelty faced by the apostles and disciples during their times For the sake of the Faith.
And ye shall be hated of all men for My name's sake: But he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

Obviously people who say such things are looking forward to a country they can call their own.
If they had longed for the country they came from, they could have gone back.
But they were looking for a better place, a heavenly homeland. That is why God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them."Hebrews 11:13-16

“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church.”

Ephesians 5:25

What a golden example Christ gives to his disciples! Few masters could venture to say, “If you would practise my teaching, imitate my life;” but as the life of Yahshua is the exact transcript of perfect virtue, he can point to himself as the paragon of holiness, as well as the teacher of it. The Christian should take nothing short of Christ for his model. Under no circumstances ought we to be content unless we reflect the grace which was in him. As a husband, the Christian is to look upon the portrait of Christ , and he is to paint according to that copy. The true Christian is to be such a husband as Christ was to his church. The love of a husband is special. The Messiah cherishes for the church a peculiar affection, which is set upon her above the rest of mankind: “I pray for them, I pray not for the world.” The elect church is the favourite of heaven, the treasure of Christ, the crown of his head, the bracelet of his arm, the breastplate of his heart, the very centre and core of his love. A husband should love his wife with a constant love, for thus Yahshua loves his church. He does not vary in his affection. He may change in his display of affection, but the affection itself is still the same. A husband should love his wife with an enduring love, for nothing “shall be able to separate us from the love of Jehovah, which is in Christ our King.” A true husband loves his wife with a hearty love, fervent and intense. It is not mere lip-service. Ah! beloved, what more could Christ have done in proof of his love than he has done? Yahshua has a delighted love towards his spouse: He prizes her affection, and delights in her with sweet complacence. Believer, you wonder at Messiah’ love; you admire it—are you imitating it? In your domestic relationships is the rule and measure of your love—“even as Christ loved the church?”

When It Stinks
In John 11, when Jesus showed up at Lazarus’ house four days after he had died, Lazarus had been in the tomb so long that his body stunk. At times, we all have things in life that stink. Maybe a relationship feels so dead that it stinks. Your finances stink. The layoff stinks. That mistake you made that set you back stinks.

Jesus went to the tomb, where the stink was, and told them to roll away the stone. Sometimes we think that God will help us only if we’re good enough, but God goes to the stinky places in our lives. That person who hurt you—it stinks. God is saying, “Let Me in. I’m going to wake up the healing, wake up the restoration, wake up the new beginning.” That past mistake you made and feel condemned about—it stinks. God is saying, “Roll that stone away. I’m waking up forgiveness, cleansing, and redemption.” It’s not too late for whatever stinks in your life. God is saying, “Let Me in.”

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You are the God who is willing to go to the stinky places in my life and bring redemption and resurrection. Thank You that You don’t require that I be good enough to qualify for Your goodness. I am inviting You in to touch and wake up what seems dead. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
