Sunday Service Recap – 25.01.2026

Praise the Name of the Living God! His grace has been sufficient throughout the week, and we gathered with thankful hearts to honor and praise Him — “Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise” (Psalm 100:4).

It was yet another beautiful and Spirit-filled day at Full Gospel Churches of Kenya- Karura L.C.A - Gachie Branch. The service began with a reflective Morning Devotion, dedicating the entire day and service before the Lord, laying a strong spiritual foundation of prayer, worship, and expectancy.

This was followed by a Bible Study session led by Elder Thuo who recapped previous teachings on love from1 Corinthians 13:1–13. He concluded by emphasizing that love is the foundation of our Christian faith: Love is learned by abiding in Christ, Love is practical and visible, Love is a measure of spiritual maturity, and Love is eternal and reflects the very nature of God.
He encouraged the church to desire to love as the Lord loves, reminding us that Jesus is the true standard (the “SI unit”) of love. As 1 Corinthians 13:13 teaches, love surpasses all else, and as believers, we must always strive to love one another—even when it is difficult—because love is the greatest commandment.
The main service then began with a joyful and uplifting time of praise and worship led by Mama Hanna and Deacon Esther, ushering the congregation into heartfelt adoration and thanksgiving before our Creator (Psalm 95:6).

It was Morning Devotion Sunday, and together with the Reubenites family, the church was richly blessed with inspiring and joyful ministrations. Deacon Regina guided the congregation in preparing to give, after which the Shalom Choir ministered in song as members joyfully presented their tithes and offerings before the Lord. Mrs. Kamenju shared the announcements and warmly welcomed the day’s preacher, Elder Mary.

The day’s message was themed “Having a Strong Foundation”, drawn from Matthew 7:24–27. She reminded the church that every firm building must have a strong foundation. Jesus teaches that those who hear His words and put them into practice are like a wise man who built his house on the rock. When the rains came, floods rose, and winds blew, the house stood firm because its foundation was secure.
In the same way, a life built on Jesus Christ—the unshakable Rock—will remain firm (1 Corinthians 3:11). He does not sway, He does not fail, and our foundation must be rooted in Him through consistent prayer (1 Thessalonians 5:17), obedience (John 14:15), fasting (Matthew 6:16–18), and a committed Christian walk.

She reminded the church that storms and floods will surely come—trials, disruptions, and hardships are part of life (John 16:33). However, they do not destroy a life that is founded on Christ. Job was given as an example of a man whose foundation was strong—though he lost everything, he remained steadfast because he knew God deeply (Job 1:21–22; Job 2:10).

The congregation was also reminded that the Lord is our refuge (Psalm 11:1–3), and that when foundations are shaken, our help does not come from human strength but from the Lord alone (Psalm 20:7).
Nahum 1:7 assures us: “The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him.”
We are therefore called to stand firm and build strong foundations because tomorrow is uncertain.
In conclusion, Elder Mary encouraged believers to rest fully in God — “Truly my soul finds rest in God; He is my rock and my salvation” (Psalm 62:1–2). She affirmed that Jesus is the tested and precious Cornerstone (Isaiah 28:16), and called the church to trust in the Lord wholeheartedly — “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5).

We thank God for a powerful and edifying service. May we continue building our lives on the firm foundation of Christ.

May this week be filled with God’s grace, favor, and unshakable faith.
SHALOM!

18.01.2026 Sunday Service Recap

Praise the name of the Living God. We give thanks to the Lord for His care, love, and faithfulness throughout the week.

Sundays at Full Gospel Churches of Kenya- Karura L.C.A - Gachie Branch are always special moments in God’s presence, and this Sunday was no exception. The day began with a reflective morning devotion led by Deacon David who dedicated the entire service and day before the Lord, setting a spiritual foundation of prayer and expectancy.

This was followed by a Bible Study session led by Dennis Gitonga equipped believers through scripture on how to strongly walk daily in faith, obedience and spritual maturity.

The main service then began with a joyful and uplifting time of praise and worship led by Mrs. Robert and Brother Tirus Njoroge, ushering the congregation into heartfelt adoration and thanksgiving before our Creator.

It was Asherites Family Sunday, and together with the Sunday School and the Dance Team, the church was richly blessed with inspiring and joyful ministrations. Sister Grace guided the congregation in preparing to give, after which the Shalom Choir ministered through song as members joyfully presented their tithes and offerings before the Lord. Deacon Oscar shared the announcements and warmly welcomed the day’s preacher, Reverend Kamenju.

The service centered on the Lord’s Table, with Reverend Kamenju delivering a profound teaching from 1 Corinthians 11:17–32. He reminded the church that Communion was instituted by Jesus Himself. The bread represents His body broken for us, and the cup represents His blood, sealing the new covenant (1 Corinthians 11:23–26). The Lord’s Supper is therefore a sacred act of remembrance and participation in Christ’s redemptive work, not a ritual to be taken lightly.

Paul’s warning against partaking in an unworthy manner (v.27) was emphasized. Reverend Kamenju clarified that this does not require perfection, but rather self-examination, repentance, and reverence. Scripture calls believers to examine themselves to ensure they are living in faith (2 Corinthians 13:5). Failure to discern the body of Christ invites God’s loving discipline—not condemnation—because the Lord corrects those He loves (1 Corinthians 11:29–32).

Drawing from Joshua 20:1–9, he explained that God distinguishes between unintentional failure and deliberate rebellion. While believers may stumble, persistent and unrepented sin dishonors Christ and hardens the heart. He further noted that church participation alone does not equal salvation. Just as some Egyptians left Egypt with Israel and enjoyed temporary benefits without inheriting the Promised Land, people today may enjoy church fellowship without a genuine relationship with Christ. Eternal life comes only through Jesus.

Reverend Kamenju then led the congregation into a solemn time of self-examination before sharing the bread and the cup. The presence of the Holy Spirit filled the atmosphere, and the church experienced a deeply spiritual and reverent moment.

He later concluded the service with prayers, blessings, and the benediction as the congregation was dismissed in peace.

May this week be filled with unlimited grace from God.
Have a lovely and fruitful week.

SHALOM.

11.01.2026 – Sunday Service Recap

Praise be to Jesus!
We thank God for the gift of life and for granting us yet another Sunday to gather together and exalt His holy name.

The vibrant day began with a morning devotion led by Mrs. Kamenju, who dedicated the day’s activities before the Lord, setting a reverent and expectant atmosphere. This was followed by an enriching Bible Study led by Brother Dennis Gitonga, focusing on the powerful theme of Redemption. He reminded the congregation that we belong to Jesus because He purchased us through His death on the cross.

Drawing from the Old Testament, he explained how God instituted the Year of Jubilee as a legal system of redemption (Leviticus 25:8–12, 23), a time when debts were cancelled, captives were set free, and land was restored. While the Jubilee was temporary and cyclical, it pointed to a greater fulfillment in Christ. In Luke 4:18–20, Jesus declared that He had come to proclaim freedom for captives and release for the oppressed—not through another Jubilee year, but through Himself. Jesus became our eternal Jubilee.

Through His sacrifice, Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law (Galatians 3:13–14). Since the law demands perfection and condemns all who stumble even once (James 2:10), Jesus took the curse upon Himself so that we could receive the blessing. As Ephesians 2:1–8 reminds us, though we were once dead in sin, God made us alive in Christ by grace. When God looks at us now, He sees a redeemed people—rescued from sin, Satan, and death—because we were bought at a price.

Through Jesus Christ, believers also inherit the blessings of Abraham (Genesis 12:1–4): favor, purpose, increase, and spiritual inheritance. Like the disciples on the road to Emmaus whose hearts burned as Jesus revealed truth to them (Luke 24:32), our hearts are awakened when we understand the depth of redemption. The cross represents not only forgiveness, but also freedom, restoration, authority, and inheritance.

The main service then began with a joyful time of praise and worship led by Sister Grace and Sister Wambui, ushering the congregation into heartfelt adoration and thanksgiving before our Creator.

It was Choir Sunday and the service was led by brother Tyrus Njoroge. Together with the Issachar Family and the Dance Team, the church was blessed with their uplifting and inspiring ministrations. Sister Nyambura Ndung’u guided the congregation in preparing to give, after which the Shalom Choir ministered in song as members joyfully presented their tithes and offerings before the Lord. Deacon Grace shared the announcements and warmly welcomed the day’s preacher, Reverend Kamenju.

Reverend Kamenju delivered a timely and powerful message titled “From Laughter of Doubt to Laughter of Joy,” drawn from Genesis 21:1–7, which records the fulfillment of God’s promise to Abraham and Sarah. For many years, Abraham’s family deeply longed for a child. Due to delay, Sarah asked Abraham to have a son with Hagar (Genesis 16), an attempt born out of impatience, yet God’s original promise remained unchanged.

When angels later visited Abraham on their way to S***m and Gomorrah, they declared, “By this time next year, Sarah will have a son” (Genesis 18:12). Sarah laughed—not in joy, but in disbelief—because the promise seemed humanly impossible. However, by Genesis 21:6, her laughter had been transformed. What began as doubt became heavenly laughter—the laughter of fulfillment and joy. God turned mockery into celebration.

The message reminded the congregation that nothing is too hard for God. Often, discouragement comes when life makes us feel like we have failed, but trusting in the Lord is never in vain. When God steps in, He restores joy and causes His people to laugh again.

This divine pattern is seen throughout Scripture:
Elizabeth rejoiced when she conceived in old age (Luke 1:24–25);
Hannah moved from tears to joy when God answered her prayer (1 Samuel 1);
Blind Bartimaeus moved from begging to celebration after receiving his sight (Mark 10:46–52);
And in John 11, those who laughed at Jesus’ words about Lazarus were left in awe when Lazarus was raised.

Reverend Kamenju concluded by encouraging the congregation that the Holy Spirit brings laughter, restoration, and joy. The same God who made Sarah laugh will make us laugh again. What once caused mockery will become a testimony of celebration.

He then prayed for those with various needs, spoke blessings over the congregation, and led the church in the benediction.

Being the second Sunday of the month, the church later gathered for an open-air crusade at Gachie–Gichagi Shopping Centre. The outreach, led by the Evangelism Team, provided an opportunity to take the Gospel beyond the church walls. Through praise, worship, and the preaching of God’s Word by Reverend Kamenju, many in the community were drawn to listen and were called to repentance and faith in Christ.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you throughout the week.

Shalom! Shalom!

04.01.2026 – Sunday Service Recap

Praise the name of the Lord, and Happy New Year! We thank God for His grace and faithfulness in allowing us to see a new year.

The first Sunday of 2026 was filled with joy, thanksgiving, and heartfelt worship before the Lord. The service began with a soul-stirring morning devotion led by Mrs. Robert, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere where congregants were drawn into praise, worship, and adoration of God’s greatness.

This was followed by a Bible Study session led by Elder James K. Thuo, who continued the teaching series on Love, drawing from 1 Corinthians 13:7 “Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”
Elder Thuo illustrated this scripture through powerful biblical examples. He highlighted the friendship between Jonathan and David (1 Samuel 18:1–3). Jonathan, the son of King Saul, demonstrated selfless and sacrificial love by protecting David, even at great personal cost. Though aware that David was God’s chosen king, Jonathan chose truth over privilege. He risked his position, endured humiliation, and faced threats from his father, King Saul, all because of his genuine love for David. Jonathan’s actions reflected a love that protects, trusts, hopes, and perseveres.

The second example was drawn from the life of Prophet Hosea. In Hosea 1:2, God instructed Hosea to marry an adulterous woman, Gomer, and Hosea obeyed out of love and trust in God. Despite Gomer’s unfaithfulness and the painful circumstances surrounding their marriage—including the symbolic names given to their children (Hosea 1:6–9)—Hosea continued to love, protect, trust, and persevere. Even after Gomer left him and fell into bo***ge, God commanded Hosea to take her back (Hosea 3:1–2). In obedience and love, Hosea redeemed her at a cost, demonstrating unconditional love and perseverance. Through this story, Elder Thuo reminded the congregation that loving like God loves is not easy, but as believers, we should purpose to love God and others with such depth and commitment in 2026.

The main service then began with a vibrant time of praise and worship led by Brother Graham and Mrs. Gichorio, leading the congregation into joyful adoration and thanksgiving before our Creator.

As the year began, the Evangelism Team, led by Brother Ngatia, took charge of the service. Together with the Youth, they presented uplifting and inspiring ministrations. Brother Graham guided the church in preparing to give, after which the Choir ministered as members joyfully presented their tithes and offerings before the Lord. Deacon David later shared the announcements and warmly welcomed the day’s preacher, Reverend Kamenju.

Being the first Sunday of the year, Reverend Kamenju shared six prophetic messages for the church in 2026, with Psalm 23:2 “He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters.” as the guiding verse for the year:

He encouraged the congregation to trust God’s leading, provision, and peace throughout the year. The service concluded with prayers, blessings, and the dedication of our children into God’s hands as they prepare to return to school, followed by the benediction.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you throughout this year, and may He crown 2026 with His goodness and favor.

Happy 2026!
Shalom!

28.12.2025 Sunday Service Recap – Post-Christmas Service

Praise the name of the Living God, for He is good. By His grace, He has carried us through the year, and with grateful hearts, we rejoice as we approach the close of 2025.

The service opened with a soul-stirring morning devotion led by Deacon Regina, setting a reverent atmosphere of prayer and spiritual preparation. This was followed by a Bible Study session led by Elder James K. Thuo, who continued the teaching series on Love from 1 Corinthians 13. He recapped the characteristics of love and concluded with 1 Corinthians 13:7, reminding the church that love always protects, trusts, hopes, and perseveres.

The congregation was then ushered into a powerful time of praise and worship led by Deacon Martha and Mrs. Orinda, lifting hearts in praise, adoration and thanksgiving.

It was Choir Sunday -Shalom Choir and Mama Njambi led the service. The choir ministered joyfully through festive songs celebrating the close of the year. Additional uplifting presentations were made by the Women’s Fellowship and the Kigoocho Team, alongside powerful testimonies from members that encouraged and strengthened the congregation. Brother Mburu guided the church in preparing to give, after which the choir ministered as members joyfully presented their tithes and offerings. Deacon David later shared the announcements and warmly welcomed the day’s preacher, Reverend Kamenju.

Reverend Kamenju shared the Word from Psalm 65:6–11, emphasizing verse 11: “You crown the year with your bounty, and your carts overflow with abundance.” He taught that every year comes with God’s appointed blessings—His cart overflowing with provision, favor, and grace. Drawing from Isaiah 6:1, he reminded the congregation that God’s train of blessing fills the temple, and it is our responsibility, through faith and obedience, to receive what He has prepared.

He encouraged the church to trust God for the coming year, noting that just as each year crowns us with a new age, it also brings new blessings. Even if one feels they did not fully receive their crown this year, God remains faithful to crown the next year with goodness, for His storehouse is never empty. He reminded believers that even the small things we often overlook are answered prayers to others.

The congregation was further encouraged to write down their vision and make it plain (Habakkuk 2:2), for God crowns our years with purpose. Vision helps us recognize and walk in what He has ordained. Reverend Kamenju concluded by declaring Isaiah 60:1, calling the church to arise and shine in the new year, affirming that crowns are given to victors—and in Christ, we shall be victorious in 2026.

As we stand at the threshold of a new year, we are reminded that God has already gone ahead of us. His cart of abundance is full, His grace is sufficient, and His promises are sure. May we cross into 2026 with faith, vision, gratitude, and expectation—ready to receive the crown the Lord has prepared for us.

You are warmly invited to our Cross-Over Kesho Service on 31st December at our Sanctuary in Mugacha. Let us begin the new year in God’s presence, with Him firmly on our side.

Shalom! Shalom!

Sunday Service Recap – 21.12.2025 (Pre-Christmas Sunday)

Praise the name of the Living God!
As the year draws to a close, we humbled ourselves before our Maker with hearts full of gratitude and thanksgiving.

The service began with a soul-stirring morning devotion led by Brother Jeremiah Ngatia, creating a warm atmosphere of prayer and spiritual readiness. This was followed by an enlightening Bible Study session led by Elder James K. Thuo, who continued the teaching series on Love, focusing on 1 Corinthians 13:6 — “Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.” He illustrated this truth through powerful biblical examples.

The first example was the friendship between Jonathan and David. Jonathan, the son of King Saul, knew that David was God’s chosen and anointed king of Israel. Despite being the natural heir to the throne, Jonathan chose truth over personal gain. He repeatedly risked his life to protect David (1 Samuel 19:1–7; 1 Samuel 20), even defying his father Saul, whose jealousy drove him to attempt killing David. Jonathan’s love for David was rooted in truth and obedience to God’s will, not ambition or envy.

The second example was John the Baptist, who was born before Jesus and entrusted with the mission of preparing the way for the Messiah. John openly acknowledged that Jesus was greater than him, declaring that he was not even worthy to untie His sandals (John 1:27). When Jesus began His ministry, John did not compete or establish a parallel ministry; instead, he joyfully stepped aside, rejoicing in the truth of Christ’s supremacy.

The final example was the parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11–24). After squandering his inheritance in a distant land and finding himself in desperate need, the son returned home in repentance. His father, filled with compassion, ran to meet him, embraced him, clothed him with the finest robe, and celebrated his return. This illustrated God’s love for those who forsake evil and return to Him. Elder Thuo concluded by reminding the congregation that heaven rejoices whenever a sinner repents and turns back to God (Luke 15:10).

The congregation was then ushered into a powerful time of praise and worship led by Deacon Esther and Deacon Martha, lifting hearts in adoration and thanksgiving.

The service was led by the Triumphant Sisters and Brothers, under the leadership of Sister Shiko. Uplifting presentations from the Triumphant Sisters, the Triumphant Children, and the Josephites Family greatly encouraged and blessed the congregation. Mama Mungai guided the church in preparing to give, after which the Shalom Choir ministered beautifully in song as members joyfully presented their tithes and offerings before the Lord. Deacon Regina later shared the announcements and warmly welcomed the day’s preacher, Reverend Kamenju.

Reverend Kamenju encouraged the congregation from Isaiah 43:1–3, reminding us that the Lord promises to be with us as we pass through waters and fire. Drawing from Psalm 23:1–6, he affirmed that the Lord is our Shepherd who walks with us through every season. He further shared from Isaiah 45:1–3, declaring that God goes ahead of His people to level mountains, break gates of bronze, and cut through bars of iron.

He emphasized that through the Holy Spirit, God not only walks with us but also goes ahead of us in every area of life — business, work, school, family, marriage, and ministry. As long as we accept His anointing, He prepares the ground for us. He reminded the church that God trains our hands for battle (Psalm 18:34), empowers us to scale walls (Psalm 18:29), and grants unmerited favour by leveling the ground for a soft landing.

The service concluded with prayers, blessings, and the benediction as the congregation looked forward to celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.

As we celebrate this Christmas season, may Christ be born anew in our hearts and lives.
Have a blessed Christmas with family and friends.

Merry MerryChristmas brethren and Shalom! Shalom! 🎄✨

LATE POST!!!!

14.12.2025 – Sunday Service Recap

Praise the name of the living God, and glory be to Him in the highest!
We thank the Lord for yet another glorious Sunday in His presence.

The service began with a soul-stirring morning devotion led by Mrs. Kamenju, creating a warm atmosphere of prayer and spiritual readiness. This was followed by an enlightening Bible Study session led by Elder James K. Thuo, who continued the teaching series on Love, focusing on 1 Corinthians 13:6: “Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.”

He drew lessons from 2 Samuel 1:6–16, the account of the Amalekite who came to King David claiming to have killed King Saul after he was wounded in battle. Expecting a reward, the man presented Saul’s crown and armlet to David. Instead, David ordered his ex*****on because he claimed to have killed the Lord’s anointed. This powerful account illustrated that true love for God does not rejoice in wrongdoing but stands firmly with truth and righteousness.

Elder Thuo also highlighted the story of Joseph and Potiphar’s wife (Genesis 39:8–23) as a vivid example of godly love. Joseph refused her advances not out of fear of punishment, but out of love for God, truth, and righteousness. As he declared in Genesis 39:9, “How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?” Joseph did not delight in evil, even when secrecy and opportunity made sin appear easy. In contrast, Potiphar’s wife chose deception and false accusation, revealing a heart that rejected truth and embraced wrongdoing.

The congregation was then ushered into a powerful time of praise and worship led by Mama Hanna and Sister Grace, lifting hearts in adoration and thanksgiving.

The service was led by the Reubenites Family under the leadership of Mrs. Mworia. Uplifting presentations from the Reubenites Family, the Reubenites children, and the Men’s Fellowship greatly encouraged and blessed the congregation. Kijana Barobaro Alex guided the church in preparing to give, after which the Shalom Choir ministered beautifully in song as members joyfully presented their tithes and offerings before the Lord. Mrs. Kamenju later shared the announcements and warmly welcomed the day’s preacher, Reverend Kamenju, our spiritual father.

Reverend Kamenju delivered a powerful sermon on Giving, drawn from 2 Corinthians 9:12. He emphasized that giving—through offerings—is an expression of gratitude to God. Offerings given in faith, obedience, and love rise before God as a sweet-smelling fragrance, pleasing to Him not because of their size, but because of the heart behind them. He reminded the church that giving is not limited to money alone, but also includes the time we give to God through fasting, serving, cleaning the church, and preparing for Sunday services.

He shared the inspiring example of Truphena Muthoni, a young girl from Nyeri County who hugged a tree for 72 hours to raise awareness about deforestation—demonstrating sacrificial love and commitment. Reverend Kamenju encouraged the congregation to emulate an even greater love for Christ by loving Him with all our heart, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30), remembering that Jesus is the true vine (John 15:1).

He further encouraged believers to cultivate hearts of gratitude and to continually express love and thanksgiving to God. He referenced the healed cripple at the Beautiful Gate (Acts 3:6–10), who leapt, walked, and praised God openly for all to see. In closing, Reverend Kamenju urged the congregation to express gratitude to God through giving our time, resources, and praise—rejoicing before Him “like calves released from the stall” (Malachi 4:2).

The service concluded with prayers, a blessing, and the benediction.

In the afternoon, the church gathered for an open-air crusade at Namba Nane Shopping Centre, led by the Evangelism Team. Members of the community were drawn together for a time of praise, worship, and the sharing of God’s Word. Uplifting presentations from the Women’s Fellowship, Men’s Fellowship, Youth, Kigoocho Team, and the Choir powerfully ministered to those present through songs, testimonies, and drama.

The Word of God was preached with power by Brother Orinda, calling listeners to repentance, faith, and renewed commitment to Christ. Many were encouraged and strengthened as the Gospel was proclaimed in the open, fulfilling the call to take the message of salvation beyond the church walls.

The day concluded with a joyful time of praise through song and dance, as we thanked God for His faithfulness and for being with us throughout the year.

We give God all the glory for His faithfulness and for the continued work He is doing among us.

Shalom! Shalom!
