John.4.17 - "I have no husband," she replied.

Are you sure? Are you sure you don't have a husband?

So you are not having anything in you that is disturbing you?
So you're trynna say, that you're not struggling with any secret sin?
And if not so, you want to say you are not having any issue that is pressing you?

So you're okay? You have nothing that's eating you!?

Yoh, not that way. Every man has something that hurts him, something that brings him down. That's why we all need a saviour.

The moment you come to terms that indeed I need help, you will be very free.

You won't have to lie to people, you won't have to cry on your bed all night, you won't have to live trying to prove a point, you won't have to upload posts trying to convince yourself that you have solace, you won't have to do anything but rest in his love!

So do you have a _husband_ ?

*Just ensure you're doing something.*
John.4.27(part a) Just then his disciples arrived. They were astonished to find him talking to a woman,(NLT)

God is taking you to greater levels. That is established. Your destiny is great. You are a masterpiece of God.

But please don't be lazy. Just ensure you're doing something.

In the key verse, it said _and Jesus was talking to a woman_
If you read verse 6, it says that the reason why Jesus sat at the well is because he was tired. (I hope you've remembered that this is the story of the Samaritan woman at the well)

Despite being tired, he was still doing something and infact he was doing his father's work! His real mission.

Either enrol for a course, if not in a school, enrol online. There are free courses.
You can start a small business. If not, read books, if not produce content on social media, if not go clean the church. But just ensure you're doing something!

Don't be lazy! Go out, trust me it's full of challenges but it's fun! It's a productive way of being a youth!

Don't be shocked if the results exceed even your predictions! Because while tired, Jesus shared the gospel with an adulterous woman who became a witness of the gospel and the whole village heard her voice!

You can do it! Just don't be idle. Incase you don't have an idea inua mkono🤷‍♂️

*How to know God.*
John.7.17 If anyone chooses to do God's will, he will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own. (NIV)

See what this scripture is suggesting! That if you want to know whether the things of that Jesus taught are indeed from God, do them. And then check the results you will get and you will know whether they are indeed from God or not!

In this verse, Jesus had taught in the temple and the Jews were so amazed! So they asked how do you know all this things yet you haven't read them? Then Jesus answered them and said, the teachings I teach are not mine, they are from God!

It is at this point that he gave this advice, or rather he gave this choice.

If you want to know whether the things in the Bible are from God, practice them. Do them and our key verse has said you will know!

You can't know the things of God by just reading them and saying Amen. No. If you are not certain about it, just do it the way you have read it.

The psalmist says, I have tested of the Lord and I know that he is good!

Have you tested?
Have you tried tithing?
Have you tried loving your enemies?
Have you tried living above sin?
Have you tried fasting?
Have you been baptised?
Have you tried reading the Bible daily?

If not, you will never know if the things of God are truth or not.

*The spirit of lies.*
John.8.44 For you are the children of your father the Devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning and has always hated the truth. There is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies. (NLT)

When you hear the statement, the devil is a liar, it's not just empty words. It's the truth. The devil is a liar.

Anything that is not consistent with the truth is as dangerous as the devil himself. Infact, in our key verse today it says _he is the father of all lies_.

Lying is his native language. Earlier in the verse it says _there is no truth in him..._

Be careful not to fall a victim of lies or be a liar. We are young believers and there's no more important thing than knowing the truth.

Do not learn lies. Discern teachings that are carrying truth. Also, do not lie. It's a sin to lie. If you lie, you speak the language of the devil, so you become his child.

But what is truth? How do I speak the truth? and How do I learn the truth?
John.14.6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, *the truth* , and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (KJV)

Jesus is the truth. To speak the truth speak Jesus,speak like Jesus,have the mind of Jesus. To learn the truth, learn Jesus.

And this is why we are born again. We are saved from the spirit of lies(that makes us speak lies and also that sponsors/promotes learning things that are not truth)

*They that are in God.*
Ps.91.9 - If you make the Most High your dwelling- even the LORD, who is my refuge-
Ps.91.10 - no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your dwelling.
Ps.91.11 - For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;
Ps.91.12 - they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

Living in God is a plus! Being born again is an advantage. Because in the family of God they are privileges.

And they may not be really privileges but they are the way of life.

Among this advantages are the ones we have in our key verse today,

1. No evil will conquer you.
Evil may come(actually it will come) but because you live in God, it will not win over you.

2. No plague will come near you. A plague is a major disaster, an occurrence that brings a lot of loss. This one will not come at all!

And how will this be achieved? It has said in verse 11 that he will send his angels to do that job.

So you, by the fact that you are born again and therefore in the family of God, you live in God. And in God you are having angels as body gaurds.

So walk with confidence!

*It's possible to live above sin.*
Jude.1.24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, (KJV)

Many of us think that living a holy life is not possible. We think living above sin is something that is very special.

So we end up living a sinful life and we keep repenting every Sunday. And we repent of the same same sin.

This kind of life is a life of children. You are a Christian yes but a baby. In the things of God you don't have muscles. So you can't represent God the way you should.

But living above sin is possible. Living a holy life is possible. But how?

First, you can live a holy life by discipline. You keep values and principles that you follow yourself.

If your sin is lying, you keep measures that will help you avoid lying(for example you can decide not to be talking too much)

If your sin is fornication, you can put strategies, for example, ensure you're not indoors with the opposite s*x and you're only two, or invite a friend!

If your sin is po*******hy, you can decide to be going to bed early or organise fasting of being online once or twice a week(you are just offline)

This is the first way of living above sin. You yourself you put in measures.

The second way is in our key verse today. God is able to keep you from falling. God himself deploys grace that will insist and ensure you don't sin. This kind of grace will always help you to do what is right. And the verse said he is able to present you faultless before the father.

In psalms 23:3 it says ... *he leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.*

However, the second way cannot be achieved without the first one. You must show God that you want to live above sin and then He will send his grace. And then people will begin to wonder how you make it in life!

*It's in God.*
John.4.33 "Who brought it to him?" the disciples asked each other. (NLT)

God is a sufficient supplier. He never lacks. But at times, we find that we lack. But why do we lack yet the God we serve has all things?

In this context, the disciples were wondering where Jesus got food from. Because they had gone to buy food while he remained with the Samaritan woman at the well.

So, who gave Jesus the food? It was God. In verse 32 he said, _I have food you don't know about._ And this is how we get supply from the sufficiency of God.

By knowing who we are and what we were born to do. When you are in that position, you know your food.

Jesus said, my nourishment is to do that which my father sent me to do. When you do what God created you to do, you get supply of everything you need.

And guess what you need, you need to do what God created you to do.

What if I don't know what God created me to do? We will discuss how to know your purpose.

*Trouble for our troublers*
Matt.18.7 "How terrible it will be for anyone who causes others to sin. Temptation to do wrong is inevitable, but how terrible it will be for the person who does the tempting. (NLT)

Today's devotion is a prayer. We are praying against the people who are in our lives and this people are the ones tempting us. We are praying that their schemes shall not work. They will not succeed to make us fall into sin.

Before we pray, in the context above, the disciples had asked who is the greatest in the kingdom. Then Jesus called a child and said unless you are converted and be like this child you cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. And then he said it's the least that are the greatest.

Then he made the statement above, that in the world yes there is sin, but woe unto anyone who makes this(the people who are like children and are doing all they can to enter the kingdom and become great in the kingdom) anyone who tempts them to sin shall encounter very terrible happenings.

Now in your life, it's possible to tell this kind of people. It could be a friend who keeps asking you to take drugs, it could be your boyfriend/girlfriend who keeps asking for s*x, it could be your boss who keeps irritating you, it could be your neighbor next door who keeps causing trouble, it could be your parent/gaurdian who is pushing you to the wall, it could even be pressure from the happenings in your life. And this things want to make you sin. And sin is separation from God.

But today I declare freedom in the name of Jesus!

Make this Prayer.

Father in the name of Jesus, I declare today any person who is bringing temptations in my life to make me fall, I declare that their schemes will not work in Jesus name. I speak the blood of Jesus over my spiritual life, I speak the blood of Jesus over my social life, I speak the blood of Jesus over my social life and I speak the blood of Jesus over my mental life.
In Jesus name, Amen.
