Gerry Kibarabara

Archbishop Dr. Gerrishon (Gerry) Kibarabara is a distinguished Kenyan Christian leader whose life reflects decades of unwavering devotion to God, the church, and the nation. Widely recognised as one of the pioneering voices in Kenya’s Pentecostal movement, he emerged during a formative season when the message of salvation, the power of the Holy Spirit, and the call to holiness were taking root across the country. His contribution during those early years helped shape the spiritual landscape in ways that continue to influence generations.

Born in Kiambu County, in the Kiambaa area near Karura Forest, his early life was formed in a modest and demanding environment that instilled resilience, discipline, and a deep sense of purpose. His journey is often described as one of transformation, where strength forged through hardship was redirected through faith into a life of calling and service. From those humble beginnings, he grew into a man marked by conviction, prayer, and a relentless pursuit of God.

Over time, Archbishop Kibarabara became closely associated with the Gospel Assemblies of Kenya, where he has been widely recognised as an Archbishop and senior leader. Within this stream, he has provided spiritual oversight and guidance, while also extending his influence far beyond denominational boundaries. His leadership has consistently carried a unifying grace, bringing together church leaders across different traditions and strengthening the broader body of Christ in Kenya.

His ministry expression has been rooted in both local church leadership and wider apostolic influence. He is strongly linked with Jubilee Commonwealth Church in South B, Nairobi, which stands as a key centre of his ministry, as well as First Born Christian Centre in Gachie, Kiambu County, where major gatherings and significant moments in his ministry journey have taken place. Through these platforms, he has ministered to multitudes, nurtured believers, and raised leaders, establishing a legacy that extends across congregations and generations.

Known in many circles as a man of prayer and spiritual authority, Archbishop Kibarabara’s ministry has often been associated with themes of deliverance, spiritual warfare, and the power of encountering God. His emphasis on prayer and faith has earned him a reputation among Pentecostal believers as a leader deeply committed to the supernatural dimension of the Christian life. His teachings frequently centre on the reality of a living God who answers prayer and intervenes in the lives of His people.

Beyond the church, he has played a visible role in the public and national space. Over the years, he has participated in Christian leadership forums and national conversations, advocating for peace, unity, and moral clarity. He has been linked with broader church leadership bodies, including national Christian platforms that bring together leaders across evangelical, Pentecostal, and independent churches. In these spaces, his voice has been that of a seasoned elder, offering wisdom and spiritual direction during critical moments in the life of the nation.

Archbishop Kibarabara is also widely honoured as a father of faith, a recognition that reflects his lifelong investment in mentoring and raising leaders. His influence is seen not only in the churches he has led, but in the many pastors, ministers, and believers who have been shaped by his teaching, guidance, and example. His life carries the weight of someone who has walked with God over many seasons and has remained steadfast through change.

A significant public recognition of his journey came when he and his wife, Margaret Kibarabara, were honoured for over sixty years of ministry. This celebration brought together church leaders and national figures, acknowledging the depth of his contribution and the consistency of his service. Among those who recognised his impact were prominent leaders in Kenya, affirming his role in the growth of the church and his enduring influence within the Pentecostal movement.

Today, Archbishop Gerry Kibarabara stands as a respected elder statesman in the faith, a bridge between generations, and a living testimony of what it means to serve God faithfully over a lifetime. His story is not defined by a single institution or moment, but by a sustained journey of obedience, prayer, and leadership. From his roots in Kiambu to his influence across Kenya and beyond, he represents a generation that built the church through sacrifice, conviction, and unwavering faith—a legacy that continues to inspire and guide those who follow.
