missionaries at Mulunguni are actively using cattle for agricultural labor, mainly for digging, tilling, and preparing the soil for planting. This traditional and practical method helps them cultivate their farm efficiently while reducing costs and physical strain.
By using trained oxen to pull plows, the land is broken and turned in readiness for planting. The cattle make it possible to prepare larger portions of land in a shorter time compared to manual digging. In addition, the animals help in transporting farm inputs such as manure, seeds, and tools around the farm.
This approach promotes sustainable agriculture, improves soil productivity, and supports food security for the mission. It also demonstrates wise use of available local resources, encouraging self-reliance and stewardship of the land.
The work at Mulunguni is a powerful example of dedication, teamwork, and sustainable farming in action.
