God seals His work, not yours! On Calvary He performed a work. He brought salvation by grace; you respond by believing. Then He seals that work, securing it never to be tampered with.
Where does the seal come?
Not the body, not the soul, but the SPIRIT.
Ephesians 1:13-14 (KJV)
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
It's unto the praise of His glory!
You cannot add to His work. Good works do not add anything to God's work. They are for rewards and crowns, not for salvation.
At the judgment seat of Christ (Bema), we will not be asked whether we believed or not, but if we worked. What did we do in our bodies? The question on believing is NOW, and works follow for something else.
2 Corinthians 5:10 (KJV)
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; (Bema) that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
We do not appear here because we believed, but because after we believed we also worked. How did we yield to the Spirit of God within our spirit to help improve our state to look like our never-changing standing?
Watch your soul; that is the place for works for rewards.
The Spirit is the place for grace for salvation.
You do not work for salvation; you believe for salvation. You work for rewards.
