NUMBER YOUR DAYS
2 Chronicles 27:6 "So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the Lord his God."
Life is not measured by how long it lasts, but by how well it is lived. Scripture never celebrates age alone; it honors obedience, purpose, and completion.
This year, you'll add a new year to your age, what is your life about?
You can't afford to waste another year.
Genesis 5:27 records that Methuselah lived 969 years. The scripture records his length of days, but nothing about his impact. Jesus lived 33 years, yet the New Testament is all about His works of impact in three years. He fulfilled His assignment, revealed the Father, and altered history. In John 17:4, He could say, “I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do."
One life was long. The other was fully invested.
Jesus understood urgency. John 9:4 “I must work the works of Him that sent me, while it is day”
Paul echoed this wisdom: “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:16). Time must be rescued from waste, distraction, and foolishness.
In Psalm 90:12 Moses prayed, “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom”
He had watched time swallowed by disobedience, delay, and unbelief. His prayer was born from experience.
He understood the brevity of life, the cost of wasted years, and the urgency of living wisely.
To number your days is not to count time, it is to value it. It is to live deliberately, not carelessly.
A year will pass whether you prepare or not.
What is taking most of your time?
What is shaping your attention?
Every new year is a new chapter.
And every chapter asks a question: what will this one say about you?
When you number your days, you stop applying your heart to things that do not matter. You choose wisdom, purpose, and obedience.
I'm sure this helped!
PRAYER: FATHER, TEACH ME TO NUMBER MY DAYS AND TO VALUE THE GIFT OF TIME YOU HAVE GIVEN ME
