"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood..."
The true enemy is not other people. Paul identifies the struggle as one against spiritual forces of evil. This reminds believers to avoid hatred and bitterness toward others while remaining spiritually alert.
3. Put on the Full Armor of God (vv. 13–17)
Each piece of armor symbolizes a spiritual truth:
Belt of Truth – Live honestly and be grounded in God's truth.
Breastplate of Righteousness – Live a righteous life through Christ and make godly choices.
Shoes of the Gospel of Peace – Be ready to share the good news and walk in peace.
Shield of Faith – Trust God to withstand doubt, fear, temptation, and discouragement.
Helmet of Salvation – Be confident in the salvation God has given through Christ, protecting your mind.
Sword of the Spirit (the Word of God) – Know and apply Scripture. This is the believer's offensive weapon against deception and temptation.
4. Pray at All Times (v. 18)
Paul concludes by emphasizing constant prayer. Prayer keeps believers connected to God, strengthens them, and enables them to remain spiritually watchful.
