Let's talk about prayer. .
James: 1. 5. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
He gives all men
Liberally (Freely)
Upbraideth not (Doesn't fault seeks faults)..
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.(NIV)....
James describes to US the Consistent nature of God.
●Gives to ALL men. ..
Luke: 6. 35. But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. -
Matthew: 5. 45. That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
The word translated maketh is "Antello"which is to set it so...that's how God just made it when it rains it will rain on both the wicked and the just.it doesn't happen by accident or magic .., Same applies with work, marriage, money, jobs, promotion etc
●Gives freely
Anything from God is free anything not free isn't of God
1 Corinthians: 2. 12. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
Romans: 8. 32. He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?.....
I love how the NIV puts James 1:6
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.(NIV)....
Without finding fault. ..
Have you heard this, after praying then someone tells you are you sure you prayed right?
Are you sure you prayed long enough?
Did you confess all the sins before you prayed?
All these are questions to find fault in you, and tell you why God won't answer your prayer. ...
Yet God doesn't ask any of such, he hears us not because of own obedience but because of the obedience of Christ...
Isaiah: 65. 24. And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
We have confidence that God answers our prayers always. .
Before we call his already their while we are speaking his already answering ..
1 John: 5. 14. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15. And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. -what a joy to know the love of the Father..That said let's go down and answer bit of questions will us Brother James extensively....
James: 1. 5. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
James: 1. 6. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
Let him ask IN FAITH. ..now there is no omnibus application of word in scriptures, what I mean by omnibus lawyers know this, is there is no word that has one meaning in the scriptures, Context will help you define the word....
So what faith will be in Hebrews isn't the same thing as what it will be in mark. ....
Can we do a poll?
Let's pick two common descriptions of faith mostly used (Hebrews 11:1, Mark 11:24)...so Hebrews is 'A' and mark will be 'B'....
A) Hebrews: 11. 1. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
B) Mark: 11. 24. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. (believe that ye receive and ye shall have them)...
Let's now pick a random text that has faith and try substituting where FAITH IS with either of the above (A, B)..
Jude: 1. 3. Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith( believe that ye receive and ye shall have them)... which was once delivered unto the saints....
doesn't make sense right?
Let's try another one
Acts: 13. 8. But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.( substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen)
If makes sense to you then we are in trouble....
Now notice that there is "Faith" and "The FAITH" if you have being following. ...
The Faith may mean Knowledge, Doctrine etc....
The point is context defines the usage of words. ..
So the Faith here in James we still in James
James: 1. 6. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. - Bible
The faith here in Context is actually knowledge which knowledge are to ask him in?
*He gives to All Men
*He gives freely
*He doesn't fault find..
Are you blessed?
Hope you are
We cover the earth
I call you blessed to be continued
