Laws of sexual morality, let's take note.
^BM
π God created us for intimacy. We are relational beings, made in Godβs image with a desire for connection. In Genesis 2:18 God states ββ¦It is not good that man should be aloneβ¦β Though this principle might be applied broadly to friendships, church family, and acquaintances, it was first applied to the intimate oneness of a marriage relationship.
Throughout Leviticus 18 God gives direct, unflinching directives on what is not allowed in sexual relationships. This chapter shows us that God cares deeply about the intimate areas of our lives.
Sexual intimacy is a blessing from God, one that we should never be ashamed of, yet Satan is a master at taking what is both good and blessed and twisting it into something perverse, immoral, dangerous, and/or degrading. God wanted to spare the Israelites, and us, of these negative experiences so He gave specific, clear counsel about what types of intimacy to avoid.
In verse 5 God states βYou shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, which if a man does, he shall live by them: I am the LORD.β God, our Creator, knows that if we follow His plan for our lives we will be healthier, happier, and safer.
