SIX WAYS YOU MAY BE DESTROYING THE CHURCH

Church is not destroyed only from the outside.
Sometimes, the greatest damage comes from within.

God has called every believer to protect the unity, purity, and mission of His Church. Yet many unknowingly contribute to division, discouragement, and spiritual decline through attitudes and behaviors that grieve the Spirit of God.

Here are six ways we may be destroying the Church without realizing it:
1️⃣ 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀
Gossip, backbiting, slander, and careless speech create division and wounds among believers. Words can destroy relationships, ministry teams, and church unity.
Before speaking, ask yourself:
“Am I protecting this person?”
“Am I protecting the unity of the Church?”

2️⃣ 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴
Negativity spreads quickly. The Israelites complained in the wilderness and infected the entire camp with discouragement.
Complaining magnifies problems while minimizing God’s power.
Faith speaks hope. Complaining spreads fear.

3️⃣ 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁
The Church does not exist to serve our preferences. We are called to serve Christ and His mission.
A self-centered believer weakens the body of Christ, but a surrendered believer strengthens it.

4️⃣ 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁-𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀
God gives vision to His Church. Sometimes growth requires change, sacrifice, and faith.
When people resist every new step, they may unknowingly hinder what God desires to do.

5️⃣ 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗔𝗯𝘀𝗼𝗿𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
When life becomes completely centered around ourselves, our problems, feelings, and insecurities, we lose sight of God’s mission.
The more we focus only on ourselves, the more spiritually miserable we become.

6️⃣ 𝗝𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴
Pride often disguises itself as spiritual maturity.
Instead of quickly criticizing others, we should first examine our own hearts and approach others with humility, love, and grace.
