So, what does Jesus’ resurrection mean to you and I?

The apostle Paul, who had also initially been a skeptic of Jesus’ resurrection, explains its impact on our lives.

“For Christ has completely abolished death, and has now, through the Gospel, opened to us men the shining possibilities of the life that is eternal.” —2 Timothy 1:10, Phillips

In other words, Jesus’ death and resurrection opened the door for us to have eternal life with Christ. But, there is an obstacle preventing us from going to heaven. The apostle Paul explains.

“You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions…” —Colossians 1:21, NLT

The obstacle to us having eternal life with Christ is that we have sinned and rebelled against a holy God. Although God loves us beyond our understanding, his perfect justice requires payment for our sins. The penalty is death.

Many wonder why an all-powerful, loving God can’t just forgive us without punishing us for our sins. Why does he demand justice?

Imagine entering a courtroom and you are guilty of murder. As you approach the bench, you realize that the judge is your father. Knowing that he loves you, you immediately begin to plead, “Dad, just let me go!”

With tears in his eyes he responds, “I love you, son, but I’m a judge. I can’t simply let you go.”

Presenting the evidence against you, he bangs the gavel down and declares you guilty. Justice cannot be compromised, at least not by a judge. But because he loves you, he steps down from the bench, takes off the robe, and offers to pay the penalty for you. And in fact, he takes your place in the electric chair.

This is the picture painted by the New Testament. God stepped down into human history, in the person of Jesus Christ, and was crucified on the cross for us. Jesus is not a third-party whipping boy being punished for our sins, but rather he is God himself. Stated more bluntly, God had two choices: to punish us for our sin, or to receive the punishment himself. In Christ, he decided to pay the penalty for us.

In other words, God’s perfect justice is completely satisfied by the death of his Son, Jesus Christ. All of our sins—no matter how bad they are or have been—are completely paid for by the blood of Christ.

Throughout this week, the Spirit of the Lord has been whispering something to me. I was, however, slothful to get it, and today during church service, He showed it to me practically.

God has been talking to me about the importance of having my body systems align with his word and obey his time. Our bodies operate on feelings. You will ask for food because your body feels hungry. It will communicate the feelings to your brain and then you'll figure out how to get food for it. Your body will feel tired, exhausted or even painful. It will communicate to your brain the same and the brain will find a solution to the challenge. Similarly, when you say you want to go to the washroom for a long/short call, it is because your body has felt something that does not have to be in there and has to be excreted immediately. Your brain has been created as a powerful tool to work for you. You know we have the mind of Christ, right? 1 Cor 2:16, 1 Pet 4:12.
We will discuss the brain topic in relation to the mind of Christ next time.

So your brain will find possibilities of getting a washroom so you can ease yourself.
But check this out;
Do you know that the reasons we keep moving out of service in church entail running to the washroom, picking a phone call and/or “just relaxing yourself” then come back in after a while?.
Did you also know that every movement you make out of service distracts the move of God during service time, first for yourself, then to your fellow congregants? This is not because the spirit of the Lord can be distracted -Because no one can instruct God 1Cor 2:16, and He is all-powerful-
But it is because you detour yourself and your neighbours from concentration. This is the trick of the devil for you not to get the word in its full entirety because he knows what you will become and what he will be turned to when the word diffuses into you.

Over time, I have learnt that I can train my body and brain to be dormant to feelings, and get them surrendered to the word and time for communion with God. I have learnt that my bladder may be full. The body may have tried to send signals to the brain so that I can ‘excuse’ myself for a minute, bit because they have been rendered powerless by the presence and the word of God, they cannot move me. I will sit in a service from the inception of it to the end without moving out.
That's me. Once I set my foot in the presence whether in the sanctuary of corporate worship, or during my own communion with God, I will not move out till the session is done. My systems know that it is time for God.

You can train yourself to tarry in that place for the time you have to be there without being destructed. Your body was made by God. It MUST be subject to God.
That is what the Lord was reminding me today. That I can tarry in a church service from the start to the end without having to pop out to relax or run to the washroom.

How does is start? Learn to pray in the Spirit, and to speak in tongues. It will help you hear God's voice over your body's.

You don't know how you can hear God's voice?

What do you do when your hen lays eggs and then eats them? Where I grew up from, we would burn it's beak to make it short so it doesn't eat the eggs anymore.
But also, veterinarians will tell you that that hen is suffering from some deficiency - probably calcium - and will ask you to find foods or medications that would treat that situation.

What do you do to a cow that that has milk but doesn't want you to milk it? Well those of you that rared cattle would understand whatever you'd do to get the milk out of it.

But why this struggle? It's because the chicken doesn't produce the eggs for itself neither does the cow produce the milk so it can take it. No. They do it for others to benefit. And surprisingly, they will never sturve to death because they did not eat their own eggs or drink their own milk. They are always fully taken care of by the owner.

What's the lesson here for a Christian Character?
If you are blessed with any gift - be it singing, preaching, teaching, healing, making wealth, etc-, it is not for you. You produce for others. And you can never be dry because you did not hold back your ministry because the pastor didn't pay you. For Jesus to confirm that Simon Peter loved him, he asked that he "feeds his lambs" when Jesus was gone. John 21:15.
So you see, Peter was not appointed Apostle for his own benefit, no, but for the saints. When time came and Peter refused to "Kill and eat" just because he thought he wasn't called to preach to the Gentiles, (Ats 10:9-16), God called a Gentile to minister to all (Paul) and we see Paul saying in Gal 3:28 and Col 3:11 that there is no difference between Greek and Gentile, Circumcised or uncircumcised, slave or free........ Something that Peter, a person who was left in charge of the church of Christ failed to recognise.

If we keep our gifting to ourselves, we would get "de-beaked". Scripture is given for the profit of all and perfecting of the saints in Love, for Christ. And it's you that enjoys the knowledge of the scriptures that should help in perfecting fellow saints.

God bless you.

So what's that weighing you down? Is it spiritual or physical? Whatever it is, remember there is a time you were like this boy in the picture, where you heard and saw hard times, but you still played and laughed anyway. Why? Because you had parents, and you had full trust that they will still provide. You did not allow the situation around deter you from believing that you will still eat, be treated and taken to school.
But the more we grow and think we are more knowledgeable, we start drifting from the course of faith. Scripture warns us that the more the sons of men increased in knowledge, evil also increased. And do you know faithlessness is sin in it's own? If you'd stay this happy, trusting in your parents and never at a time got disappointed in them, even when they often failed to meet up with the expectations sometimes, how much more should you trust and believe God who is the author of our lives? How much more should you believe God who owns all the silver and the gold? Why not stay happy, knowing that He has your back?
He created the eons and He commands time. Nothing takes Him by surprise. He is always working, even when we choose to turn our eyes away from what He's doing.
REJOICE IN THE LORD ALWAYS AND AGAIN I SAY REJOICE.

'spossible.

That joy and happiness we possessed even when our eyes couldn't see what's in the next minute. The hope we had even when we had nothing to see and hold on. Nothing ever moved us. We had big dreams, which in most cases, we were not ale to explain. Our parents told us we will be what we dream, but they, deep inside knew that they didn't have the capacity to grant that wish. But here we are today with at least a minimal hope to hold on. We have come to learn that we have lived an indifite and unexplainable life before, but we still made it. Sometimes, we think it's because we worked harder. Sometimes, that maybe we had a friend or ralative somewhere. But then we come to know that there are those that have trusted in the hand of man, and been put to shame. Remember that *he who trusts in man is accursed* we are now able to tell that if God were not for us, our advaseries would have taken us alive. God coined us in hope and Grace. He gave us beauty where it was meant for ashes. What the enemy meant for evil, God turned it around for our good. We can never take our eyes away from Him. We have been in this together with Him, and he will guide till the day is done.
IT IS ONLY THROUGH JESUS THAT WE CAN DO ALL THINGS BECAUSE HE GIVES US THE DTRENGHT TO.
Praise the Lord

RICH IN THE WORD -The Importance:

I bless you with the blessings of God in the Most High the Creator of Heavens and Earth, He who formed the world and everything embodied in it. He Blesses and no man curses, raises and no man brings down. Be blessed in all your endeavors in Jesus Christ.

Allow me to tackle the third portion in our series of RICH INTHE WORD, and today, I am tackling the importance of getting RICH IN THE WORD OF GOD.
You see, God is WORD -John 1:1 And He speaks to us by the same WORD
Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; HEBREWS 1:2
He therefore requires us to understand Him by the same WORD.
In most cases, we find ourselves in moments when we doubt whether God is actually at work -sometimes we have read scripture that is full of promises from God for us, some times the men of God spoke to us through the word of prophecy. We believed and prayed over it, But it never happened like we expected.
We then thought, 'Maybe it will not happen again'

But God is reminding us today, that as long as the word is His and has come from his mouth, it must work.
For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. ISAIAH 55:10-11 KJV
----the the WORD of God cannot fail----
God wants us to know that He will follow His WORD to bring it to accomplishment. When He speaks it, even when you do not see it yet, it is already budding.
The moment you take your attention from the WORD, you will not see the fruits, it could pass you and you may never recognise it did.
Lord, help us to understand you by the entirety of your WORD, that we will not fail to understand when you work. In Jesus' Mighty Name we Pray.
AMEN

1 KIngs 18:27 KJV
And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.

Some people have put timelines on God's working. They are like "if you want God to work swift or hear your prayer fast, call him/pray at this time because that is when the heavens are clear-open"

Hey, let us wake up from such assumptions and ignorance. God is ever ready to listen and work. Scripture says that our confidence lies in the fact that when we call him, he hears.......any and every time......
Our God never sleeps nor slumbers. He is awake now like he will be in the midnight.
call upon him, pray, presents your desires unto him. HE IS BUSY WORKING. LET HIM MAKE YOU PART OF HIS WORK TODAY.

TWO REASONS WHY WE FAST

The bible clearly teaches us that "To be carnally minded is death..... Rom 8:6. Whenever the flesh increases in power, it subdues the spirit, this technically means that our spirits start losing out a lot on matters concerning LIFE. When our spirits diminish, we lose communication with God.....God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” John 4:24. Our spirits must be alive for us to communicate with God. This means we have to JOLT our spirits into life and remembrance of God. This is why we should fast. To bring our spirits back into full action with God. So, we fast to humble our flesh so we can exault our spirits to commune with God on higher realms.

Secondly, Our flesh is enemy to the spirit. what it craves for, is contrary to the spirit desires...........For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want -Galatians 5:17.
Flesh and spirit cannot stay on the same lane. They fight. You remember when Jacob Wrestled with angel in the dream? His leg was broken. That is what happens when the flesh is so full of itself. So point two is that we fast the pull down the battles waged by the flesh against the spirit. If the scuffles continue, there will definitely be death.
Remember, God is spirit and only communicates with us through the spiritual medium. We fast to get our spirits fully concentrated to the spiritual matters such that when we Speak to God in Prayer by His Spirit, there is a greater flow of conversation without external detractors.
MAY GOD GIVES US THE ABILITY TO ALWAYS PUT OUR BODIES TO SUBMISSION SO AS TO ALLOW FOR CONVENIENT RELATIONSHIP WITH THE SPIRIT OF GOD.
