2027 trip is open for sign ups!! We are planning to go May 17-28 2027 (dates are subject to minor change based on flights) and the estimated cost is $3,000 per person. We are planning to distribute more water filters, work on a playground at the school for the kids, provide bibles (in Swahili) and some new chairs for the church and school, and purchasing some materials and supplies for the Hands on the Spindle sewing program. This cost includes round trip flights, all lodging, food, and transportation in country as well as a Safari at the amazing Masai Mara National Reserve to close out our trip and debrief together as a team. Message me for more info! If you can't go, but can help with any of these initiatives or help us get there that would be amazing and we definitely need it. Deadline is October 19th.

God is moving in powerful ways, and growth is happening fast! Here is the latest update from Kenya:

School Expansion: We’ve officially hired another teacher to keep up with growing enrollment. That’s 3 new additions to our teaching team in just 10 months!

Clinic Upgrades: The medical clinic got some much-needed beautification and is now running with 3 staff members to expand care and meet government standards.

Partnering alongside Restoration Ebenezer Ministries, we are witnessing incredible life transformation. But with that growth comes greater responsibility.

To keep up with these additions and ensure we can cover basic operational needs (like daily meals for the kids and fuel for transportation) we need to raise our monthly funding.

What started small has grown so much—we now have 75 amazing students enrolled! As our school family expands, so do our daily needs. Every single day, we ensure our kids receive a nourishing meal and quality education from our dedicated teaching staff.

To keep this going, we need your support this month.

I woke up this morning with a Swahili phrase running through my head. I knew it was familiar from my recent trip, but the meaning was just out of reach in that early morning fog.

So, I sat down with a cup of coffee and opened the notes app on my phone.

“Bwana Asifiwe.”

It means “Praise God.”

This photo was from the Sunday I preached at Restoration Ebenezer Church. I used this phrase many times speaking to the church and various ministry groups. In fact, the ladies in the Beyond the Spindle sewing class made this shirt for me to wear for the service, and standing with them is something I’ll never forget.

That phrase was a great reminder this morning: No matter what chaos or stress you’re facing today, take a second to pause and praise Him.

A massive thank you to everyone who steps up to stand with me and Hold the Rope for this community. None of this happens without you guys.

Thinking about next spring...

I’m putting it out there now: I want you to consider coming with me on our next trip. Most of you seeing this know me. Because of that, I won’t sugarcoat it—it’s a huge commitment. Between fundraising, travel, and time away, it’s a massive leap of faith.
But if you’ve ever felt even a little pull to do something like this, don’t let the cost or hesitation block you. It will change your perspective in ways you can’t imagine.

If you’re even a little curious, let’s grab a coffee, shoot me a message, or give me a call. No pressure, just conversation.

It doesn’t take much to make a massive, life-altering impact.

Our friend Steve, one of the cofounders of Hold the Rope, recently visited Kamukuywa. He sent back these incredible photos of families who received clean water filters late this spring. Seeing our brothers and sisters benefiting directly from these efforts is a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.

Clean water changes everything!! And as you can see from Steve, it’s an absolute joy to share in this blessing with them.

But the work isn’t done. We want to continue bringing clean water and sustainable hope to Kamukuywa and the surrounding areas.

Stand with us!! Will you hold the rope for these families?

Together, we can make sure more homes have the basic, life-giving resource of clean water.

This is why we do what we do.

We are so incredibly proud to help provide clean, accessible water, but the true miracle is that through this clean water, people are coming to know Jesus.

We are thrilled to play a small role in resourcing Precious Day Academy so these beautiful kids can get an education, but it is through that school and that education that children are being raised to know Jesus.

We love being able to help keep the “Beyond the Spindle” sewing class going, but it is through those sewing machines, the fabric, and the equipment that these women, their families, and their communities are praising the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Through all of this we are constantly reminded of the truth in 1 John 4:4:

“You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”

The physical resources - the water, the educational materials, the fabric - are just the beginning. The ultimate goal is Jesus being known.
