Glory be to God's most holy name!
Beloved ones! I am very happy to meet you at this wonderful time. This is the word that our Lord God wants to speak to us on this day "Honor thy father and thy mother"
Our Lord God wants to tell us this fifth commandment of the Lord which we do not follow in our lives. Many people these days eat good, nutritious food to live longer. They will exercise. They take great care of the body. But, thus a man does not live long (long days). God's scripture advises us to live long.
However, the scriptures of the Lord say that you should honor your father and mother so that you may have good things and your life may be prolonged (Ephesians 6:2, 3). This is the truth. Beloved! The Lord says many people today do not take good care of their father and mother. Because of this, we are transgressors of the Lord's commandment. We can sing, worship, and be powerful preachers. Maybe the doer of many miracles or perhaps the ruler of the country, anyone who violates this Lord's fifth commandment is a sin. Due to this, even the kingdom of God may not be reached. Often our Lord reminds us of this commandment. The apostle calls it the first promise of promise (Ephesians 6:2).
When our Lord Jesus Christ came to this earth, Mother Mary who gave Him birth, before He died on the cross, He said to John, the disciple of His love, Behold your mother. He said to His mother, Behold, your son, even when He was dying on the cross, He did His duty to His mother and went away (John 19:26, 27). Our Lord Jesus Christ is our example. And it is because we do not do the duty to the mother and father that the Lord says as one of His commandments, the fifth commandment.
Beloved! Many people today leave their father and mother as soon as they get married, but this is a very serious sin.
Dear brother and sister, how much that father and mother must have struggled to bring you up? Think about it. How much effort? This father and mother must have taken, to make you study and reach such a great position. So now how lovingly you bring up your child. This is how your mother and father raised you. So don't forget your mother and father! Notice that we say it as the Lord sends us to give some examples below!
A farming family in a village, they were raising a son as a pet in that house. He studied well in the school in that town. By scoring high marks, he got a place in an engineering college. But the family doesn't have the money. So the father said, I can't do it, I don't have any money. However, without listening to her mind, the mother told her husband that if our son studies and becomes an engineer, all our debt would be paid off, and preparations were made for his studies. Everything was sold by the time the son completed his studies, the land, and the house. The father goes to work as a laborer and meals are served at home. In this situation, the son's studies are over and the son's graduation ceremony, so the invitation letter from the college has come to the mother and father. That beautiful mother, to her husband, our son will be an engineer. She said and sent that you should attend our son's graduation ceremony. This father never came to town much. He does not have good clothes. So there was a torn dhoti and a torn shirt. Putting it on, he went to attend his son's graduation ceremony. At the college gate, he told the security guard his son's name and asked him to bring him. The security told his son. This father was also eager to see his son. As the son was coming in the distance, he saw his father. When he saw that his father had come with a torn dhoti and a torn shirt, he got angry. Do you know what he said to the rich friends who asked him, who is he? He said that he is a servant of our house. Hearing these words, the father's heart burst and died on the spot.
See, this son is going to become an engineer in a beggar situation. Where his father loses his property, loses his house, and loses everything. Did you see the gift we got for that father who thought he would pay off our debt, feed himself, and save us anyway? Did you see the words of the Son that the compassionate man got? The father could no longer bear the title of servant of his house, once the son said. So on the spot, the heart burst and he died. So beloved! The Lord observes and hears how you treat your father and mother.
Therefore, because this is happening in many families, the Lord tells you this Lord's fifth commandment so that it does not happen.
Beloved! This is one of the reasons why so many are dying prematurely these days (Ephesians 6:2, 3). So, if someone died suddenly, why did the Lord take him so quickly? We will be lamenting all that. His short life is God's punishment for breaking this fifth commandment. The Lord does not help those who do not keep His commandments (Deuteronomy 28:1-14). So be careful in your Christian life. Don't forget that the Lord is watching your actions (Psalm 139:1-16) and the words you speak (Malachi 3:16).
Consider how those who belong to other religions today honor their mother and father. They walk according to the oath of their mind, even though they have no oath. Therefore they are long-lived.
In the Houses near my house, other religious families live. A family of them often goes to town and can’t see them for long days. One day I asked him. Then he said that his mother is in his native town and he pays five thousand a month to take care of her and has a servant. If I call her to come here and I will take good care, my mother will not leave her native town. Therefore, we are taking care of her with a servant. For half the day, my wife and I go to town to take care of my mother. For work, he said he was staying near my house. Do you know how old his mother is? 82 years old. As Christians, we say that this old man and the old woman will not die after so many days, and we see them killing their old father and mother by giving them some pills and medicine. Know that the kingdom of God cannot come to such people because they have violated the commandment not to kill!
Beloved! See how a worldly man looks after his mother and father.
See how they honor their mother and father, even though they have no oaths and commandments, just as we Christians have oaths and commandments. The Lord is pleased with such people, regardless of their religion (Acts 10:35).
So beloved! Let us Christians repent from today! Let's obey God's commandments!
Mother and father may not endow you with property or house. But God has a great blessing from them. Do you know what it is? A blessing by word of mouth.
In general God's servants and God's children should desire to receive the blessings of elders. Children these days don't like that. They don't know about that. Read in the scriptures, when Isaac was old, he looked at his eldest son Esau and said, "My time of death is near. Therefore, I must bless you. So, go hunt and bring me a delicious meal." Hearing this word, Isaac's wife Rebecca looked at her youngest son, Jacob! You must receive your father's blessing, So take a good goat from the flock and come. I will cook it. She said give that food to your father and get his father's blessings. Jacob did the same and claimed his father's blessing by deceiving his father and saying that he was Esau. This Isaac did not give away property, bond, or bond for his son. He blessed him (Jacob) with the words of his mouth.Read through the scriptures (Genesis 27:1-41).If a word proceeds from the mouth of the Father, our Lord God is able to do so. Jacob, the blessed Israel of the Father's Word, is today an unshakeable nation. (Genesis 32:24-28) Isn't this a blessing according to the word that came out of Isaac's mouth that day!
So dear ones! From now on, don't think of your mother and father as careless and insignificant! Don't beat your mother and father (1 Timothy 1:9-11), and don't speak to hurt them! This is why everyone competes to get the elders' blessings from now on. But let us not forget that if our father and mother speak a curse word, it will work in us as well. But God's people should know that it will not work if you take good care of your father and mother and curse you (Psalm 102:8). Therefore, the Lord wants to bless you dear brother and sister. Therefore, do not break this fifth commandment of the Lord! says the Lord.
Likewise, the women who are married, why should you not accept your father-in-law who is your husband's father, your mother-in-law who is your husband's mother, as your own mother and your own father, just as you love your own father? Why don't you follow God's fifth commandment from today, "Honor your father and mother, so that it may be good for you and that your life may be long!" and receive God's blessing. The Lord says to tell you this commandment. Regarding this Lord's fifth commandment, the Lord says that this is the first commandment with promise (Ephesians 6:2,3) so let us make this commandment important and keep it and receive God's blessing!
