Title: Appreciating the Gifts of Peace
Text: Matthews 5:9
Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the sons of God.
Peace is one of the most profound gifts. It's not merely the absence of conflict but the presence of wholeness, harmony, and divine assurance. In a world filled with anxiety and unrest, God's peace stands as a sacred treasure.
1. Peace is a Gift from Christ
> “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
— John 14:27
Jesus offers a peace that surpasses what the world can offer. His peace calms troubled hearts and gives courage amid uncertainty. To appreciate this gift is to trust in His promises and find rest in His presence.
2. Peace Comes Through Trust in God
> “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.”
— Isaiah 26:3
True peace is rooted in our relationship with God. When our minds and hearts are focused on Him, we experience stability and serenity. Gratitude for this peace grows when we recognize how it shields us from fear and worry.
3. The Fruit of the Spirit Includes Peace.
> “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness…”
— Galatians 5:22
Peace is not only given by God—it also grows within us through the Holy Spirit. When we allow the Spirit to work in our lives, peace becomes evident in how we respond to trials and treat others.
4. We Are Called to Be Peacemakers
> “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”
— Matthew 5:9
Appreciating peace also means sharing it.
When we value the peace God gives, we seek to spread it in our families, communities, and the world
Reflection:
Take time to thank God for the gift of peace—both inward and outward. Let His peace rule in your heart, guard your thoughts, and guide your actions. In doing so, you not only honor God’s gift but become a vessel of peace to others.

[5]Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Overcoming the spirit of lust
Genesis 19:15-17
[15]And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.
Hata alfajiri ndipo malaika wakamhimiza Lutu, wakisema, Ondoka, mtwae mkeo na binti zako wawili waliopo hapa, usipotee katika maovu ya mji huu.
[16]And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.
Akakawia-kawia; nao wale watu wakamshika mkono, na mkono wa mkewe, na mkono wa binti zake wawili, kwa jinsi BWANA alivyomhurumia, wakamtoa wakamweka nje ya mji.
[17]And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.
Ikawa walipomtoa nje, mmoja alisema, Jiponye nafsi yako usitazame nyuma, wala usisimame katika hilo bonde po pote; ujiponye mlimani, usije ukapotea.
James 1:15
[15]Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Halafu ile tamaa ikiisha kuchukua mimba huzaa dhambi, na ile dhambi ikiisha kukomaa huzaa mauti.
Lessons

God wasn't pleased with them.God destroyed S***m coz of lust
2.Lust grows to cause death

RETURN TO GOD

1. Repentance and Forgiveness: In 1 John 1:9, it says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." This highlights the importance of confessing sins and the assurance of God's forgiveness.

2.God’s Mercy
Joel 2:12-13 states, "Even now, declares the Lord, return to me with all your heart, with fasting, weeping, and mourning. Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love." This underscores God's readiness to forgive and His compassionate nature.

3. The Parable of the Prodigal Son**: In **Luke 15:11-32**, Jesus tells the story of a son who returns to his father after squandering his inheritance. The father's warm reception symbolizes God's joy and acceptance when we return to Him.

4. **Renewal of the Heart**: **Ezekiel 36:26** speaks of a transformation: "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh." This reflects the internal change that accompanies a genuine return to God.

5. **Restoration and Healing**: **Jeremiah 24:7** says, "I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart." This illustrates the holistic restoration that comes with returning to God.

These teachings together convey a message of hope and reconciliation, emphasizing that returning to God involves sincere repentance and that God is always ready to welcome back those who seek Him earnestly.

CHURCH USHERING GUIDE 2024
The term Usher is derived from ush, meaning “to enter into.”
It also comes from the Latin term ostiarius ("porter", "doorman") through Norman French, and is a cognate of the French huissier. Ushers were servants or courtiers who showed or ushered visitors in and out of meetings in large houses or palaces.
Ushers are also referred to us attendant, guide, helper, assistant, supporter, es**rt, doorkeeper, doorman, gatekeeper, doorperson, aide, commissionaire, usherette or conductor.
An usher is a person who welcomes and shows people where to sit, especially at a church, theatre or when attending events.
The ushering and protocol unit of the church is one that is saddled with the responsibility of ensuring orderliness, security and the smooth running of church services.
The ushers are seen as the extension of the Pastors' hand as they provide the first impression of the church and the ministry of the Pastor.
The concept of ushers is very biblical actually, and very necessary. God was the very first usher - as he ushered in day and light (Gen. 1:3-4). God ushered man into the Garden of Eden (Gen 2:15). Ushers or forerunners are depicted throughout the Bible. In the Old Testament, they were there to collect money (2 Kings 22:4), to guard the gate of the temple (1 Chronicles 9:19) and ushers were even present in Ezekiel's vision of the future temple (Ezekiel 40:45-46).
The doorkeepers guarded the gates of the house of Yahweh (1 Chronicles 9:23), closing and opening them at the proper times (1 Chronicles 9:27) and preventing the unclean from entering the sacred enclosure (2 Chronicles 23:19); they had charge of the sacred vessels and of the free-will offerings (2 Chronicles 31:14)
In the scriptures David in Psalm 84:10 ESV said “For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness. ”
In the new testament the disciples of Jesus served as ushers in
