1 Peter 1:3-9
[3]Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
[4]and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you,
[5]who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
[6]In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.
[7]These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
[8]Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,
[9]for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

Don't hold the sexual values and practices they held in Egypt- our traditional cultural sexual practices

Don't follow the sexual ethos of canaan- modern contemporary sexual practices

Reason 1.
You now belong to the LORD

Reason 2.
Pursuing sexual purity guarantees a good enjoyable life

Avoid

1. In**st

a. Vertical first order blood relations ( relationship by birth)

b. Horizontal second order relationship (relationship by marriage)

2. Adultery
3. Be******ty
4. Idolatry ( sexual)
5. Homosexuality

PAINS OF SEXUAL IMMORALITY

I. Honour - sows dishonour in the community

II. Health - ravages ones Health

III. Home - destroys happiness in a home.

IV. Holiness - attracts God's judgement

a. At first God will be patient with you giving you a chance to repent.

b. God will give you up and stop struggling with you to be pure ( Judicial Hardening)

c. Left to yourself you will be so defiled , you will no longer have a sense of shame, embarrassment, restraint, or the fear of the Lord. You will be a proud and open sinner

d. You will proceed to approve those who do such things an ardent advocate of evil living.

e. The wrath of God which you have justly accrued will be poured on you in its full measure.

If this bothers you then you can still be helps call to the Lord and He will save and protect you from sexual sins. Amen

God did not give us a gift detached and separate from Himself but he gave us Himself

Gods gift was

1. God with us (incarnation) Matthew 1:22 - God the Father
2. God for us (cross) Romans 8:31 - God the Son
3. God in us (pentecost) John 14:17 - God the Holy Spirit

A gift acquires meaning only when it is enjoyed. May you genuinely, authentically receive and enjoy the God's gift of Christmas -the gift of Himself
