お盆は、帰ってきた先祖をお迎えし、
共に過ごし、そしてまた送り出す時間。
しかし先祖は、
お盆の時だけ私たちのもとに帰ってくる存在ではありません。
目には見えなくても、
暮らしの中に、
受け継いできた記憶や土地の中に、
いつも静かに存在している。
お盆という節目は、
そんな普段はあまり意識することのない存在に、改めて心を向ける時間なのだと思います。
今こうして日々を過ごせていること。
先祖に心を向けることは、
過去を振り返るだけではなく、
今ある命に気づき、
感謝することでもある。
今年も満龍寺では、送り盆祭りを開催します。
夕暮れのお寺に集まり、
音楽を聴き、
移ろいゆくときを感じ、
それぞれの時間を過ごす。
そしてともに、
大切な人たちへ思いを向け、
感謝とともに送り盆の供養を行います。
賑わいの中にも、祈りがあり、
祈りの中にも、喜びがある。
それぞれの形でこの夏の終わりに集い、
目には見えない、
いつも私たちとともにあるものたちに意識を向ける。
そして、またそれぞれの日常へ。

Obon is a time to welcome our spirits of ancestors, spend time with them, and eventually see them off.
Yet our spirits of ancestors are not only with us during Obon. Their presence lives quietly in our everyday lives, in the memories and traditions passed down through generations, and within each of us.
Obon gives us a moment to pause, remember where we come from, and turn our hearts toward those who came before us—with gratitude for the life we live today.
As the sun sets, we gather at Manryuji to share music, food, and time.
As night falls, we come together in prayer to honor and give thanks to our ancestors.
There is prayer within the celebration, and joy within the prayer.
Join us at the end of summer, and take a moment to connect with the unseen presence that is always with us.
