TOKYO UNION CHURCH was founded in 1872 and is an ecumenical and international congregation of English-speaking Christians. The word “union” is used to indicate that the membership is composed of Christians from many churches and nationalities who are united through a common faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The members of Tokyo Union Church bring the richness of their own Christian heritage and experience into our worship, study, fellowship, and service. Tokyo Union Church is independent and financially self-supporting. Our Vision: A diverse community of growing, committed Christians in the heart of Tokyo, sharing the light of Christ with all nations.

Introducing Golden Club — a new monthly gathering at Tokyo Union Church offering practical, compassionate support for the later seasons of life.

Beginning October 25, this seven-session program brings together trusted TUC members and guest professionals for workshops on voice training, fall prevention, financial planning, caregiving, mindfulness, and more - plus a worship showcase with tea.

All are welcome.

Rooted in TUC’s values of faith, hope, and community, Golden Club is a space to learn, connect, care for one another, and walk alongside each other with dignity and grace.

📍 Sessions take place every fourth Sunday, 13:00–14:30, at TUC.

What happened to our Young Adults this year? ✊

They drove north together for four days and were strengthened by Scripture, baptism, the breaking of bread, and prayer. They worshipped, barbecued, walked, prayed, and came home sunburnt, tired, yet nourished — knowing God and each other better than when they began.

To note: No actual baptism took place in the course of the trip😉…. But hopefully later 😎

We hope to see you again next year - for our Annual Young Adults Summer Trip! 🙏🏻🫶

Oh yes, it’s been a while — but here we are with another episode of Q&A with Pastor Hector. This time we’re sitting with one of the hardest questions: **Why pray if it doesn’t end the pain?**

Pastor Hector talks about prayer not as a magic fix, but as relationship, honesty, and movement. We pray with our words, but we also “pray with our legs” — in the choices we make, the justice we pursue, and the quiet ways we keep going when life still hurts, echoing Frederick Douglass’ line about praying “with my legs.”
