In the case of Islam, it considers worship in a congregation greatly important, which compounded Muslims’ need for mosques (masjid) much more. With the motive of meeting this requirement, they have built many distinguished masjids in all territories where they settled. First and foremost, the Masjid Nabawi (The Prophet’ (pbuh) Masjid) in Madinah, and others such as Masjid al-Amawi (Syria), Masjid Qurtuba (Spain), Masjid Samarra (Iraq), Ibn Tulun Masjid (Egypt), Kalon Masjid (Uzbekistan), Faisal Masjid (Pakistan), Sultan Ahmet Camii (Blue Mosque), Süleymaniye Camii and Selimiye Camii (Turkey) are only some of the spectacular masjids that come to mind. We believe it is performing and will continue to perform its duty as a bridge between the past and the future, and is beautiful in other aspects due to certain unique features. While not departing from the ties of the past with its construction in the classical Ottoman architecture style, it also has an enlightening purpose for the future through various architectural points that attract attention in both construction technology and the multipurpose hall which is a venue for wedding ceremonies, fashion shows, plays, exhibitions and conferences on the first floor.

トルコ共和国宗務庁（ディヤーナト）のサフィ・アルパグシュ長官が、東京ジャーミイ・ディヤーナ
ト財団第10回総会に出席するため来日しました。
総会に際し、アルパグシュ長官は、宗務庁のもとで行われている宗教・社会・文化分野の活動
について確認するとともに、ワクフ（財団）の伝統に触れ、これらの活動を遂行するにあたって最
大限の配慮を払うよう求めました。
また、金曜礼拝に先立って会衆に語りかけ、日本のムスリムにとって東京ジャーミイが持つ意義
や、ここで行われている宗教活動について所感を述べました。その後、会衆を率いて金曜礼拝
を行いました。

Prof. Dr. Safi Arpaguş, President of the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet), arrived in
Japan to attend the 10th General Assembly of the Tokyo Camii Diyanet Foundation.
On the occasion of the General Assembly, President Arpaguş reviewed the religious, social, and
cultural activities and services carried out under the auspices of the Presidency. Referring to the
waqf tradition, he called for the utmost care and diligence in carrying out these services.
Prior to the Friday prayer, President Arpaguş addressed the congregation, sharing his reflections
on the significance of Tokyo Camii for Muslims in Japan and on the religious services provided
there. He then led the congregation in the Friday prayer.

Diyanet İşleri Başkanı Prof. Dr. Safi Arpaguş, Tokyo Camii Diyanet Vakfı 10. Genel Kurul
toplantısına katılmak üzere Japonya’ya geldi. Genel Kurul vesilesiyle Başkanlıkça yürütülen
dini, sosyal ve kültürel hizmetleri değerlendiren Başkan Arpaguş, Vakıf kültürüne atıfta
bulunarak hizmetlerin ifasında azami hassasiyet gösterilmesini istedi.
Cuma namazı öncesinde ise cemaate hitap eden Başkan Arpaguş, Tokyo Camii’nin Japonya’daki
Müslümanlar açısından taşıdığı önem ve yürütülen din hizmetleri hakkında değerlendirmelerde
bulundu, ardından Cuma namazını kıldırdı.
