このYouTube法話『智山の法話』に寄せる思いを真言宗智山派中央布教師会会長でもある当寺住職が語っています。

今後は智山派所属の青年僧侶の法話を定期的にお届けしてまいります。

The Chisan School of Shingon Buddhism, to which Chikurin-ji belongs, has launched a new YouTube series entitled Dharma Talks from Chisan.

In the introductory video, the head priest of Chikurin-ji, who also serves as president of the Chisan School’s Central Association of Dharma Teachers, shares his hopes for this new series.

The channel will regularly feature Dharma talks by young priests of the Chisan School.

高知の夏を彩る「よさこい祭り」が始まりました。

高知県内外からたくさんのチームが出場する中、10日からの本祭を前に、よさこい祭り常連チームである「須賀IZANAI連」の皆さんが今年も竹林寺で奉納演舞をしていただきました。

同連の合言葉は「よさこい」の言葉に掛けた「いい世よ来い、いい世さ来い！」。
互いに傷つけあうことなく、ともに認め合い、尊びあえる世の中がくるようにとの未来への祈りにみちた踊りです。

よさこい祭りに参加するどのチームも期間中事故もなく、それぞれの踊りを通じて皆に笑顔と元気を与えてくれることを願っています。

The vibrant Yosakoi Festival, one of Kochi’s signature summer traditions, has begun.

Before the main festival starts on August 10, the members of Suga IZANAI Ren, a beloved Yosakoi team that has taken part in the festival for many years, once again offered a special dance performance at Chikurin-ji Temple.

Their motto, “Ii yo yo koi, ii yo sa koi!”, is a play on the word Yosakoi. It expresses a heartfelt wish for a better world—one where people do not hurt one another, but instead accept, respect, and support each other. Their performance is a prayer for such a future.

We wish every team participating in this year’s Yosakoi Festival a safe and successful event, and hope that their performances will bring joy, energy, and smiles to everyone they meet.

昨年の秩父祭に続き、今年は高知の夏を彩る「高知よさこい祭」とコラボレーション！

「THE ALFEEよさこい組 美麗乱舞祭」として、よさこい祭りに参加します。（※THE ALFEEの出演はありません。）

これにあわせ、四国八十八ヶ所の高知県内10ヶ寺の札所では、THE ALFEEとコラボした「THE ALFEE歌朱印（かしゅいん）」を期間限定で授与します。

This summer, THE ALFEE and the Kochi Yosakoi Festival have come together for a special collaboration!

A special Yosakoi dance team, THE ALFEE Yosakoi Team “Birei Ranbu Matsuri,” will take part in the festival. （Please note that THE ALFEE themselves will not appear at the event.）

To celebrate this collaboration, ten temples on the Shikoku 88 Pilgrimage in Kochi Prefecture will offer a limited-edition THE ALFEE Kashuin, a special music-themed goshuin created in collaboration with the band.

If you’re a THE ALFEE fan—or visiting Kochi for the Yosakoi Festival—don’t miss this special opportunity!

去る22日、高野山において四国八十八ヶ所霊場会主催の物故先達慰霊法要が執り行われました。

これは、四国霊場会公認先達として多くのお遍路さんを導き、四国霊場の発展と弘法大師様の信仰の倍増のために尽くされたことに感謝を捧げ、そのご供養をお勤めするものです。

杉木立に包まれ霊気に充ちた高野山の奥の院で至心に祈りが捧げられました。

On July 22, the Memorial Service for Deceased Sendatsu (official pilgrimage guides) was held at Koyasan, organized by the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage Association.

The service honors the memory of the officially recognized Sendatsu who guided countless pilgrims along the Shikoku Pilgrimage. It is also an expression of gratitude for their lifelong dedication to the pilgrimage and to fostering devotion to Kobo Daishi Kukai.

Surrounded by towering cedar forests and the profound spiritual atmosphere of Okunoin, the sacred resting place of Kobo Daishi, heartfelt prayers were offered in remembrance and gratitude.

竹林寺の夏の恒例行事「一休さん修行」が始まりました。
これは、高知市の老舗旅館「城西館」さんとコラボして、小学校低学年の子どもたちを対象に行っている寺子屋です。

拭き掃除にはじまり、瞑想や地獄図の絵解きなど、家庭や学校ではできない体験を通じて、我慢することの大切さ、して良いことと悪いことのけじめ、他を思いやる心の育みなどを身につけてもらうことをねらいとしています。

第一回目の昨日は20人のちびっ子一休さんたちが元気に修行にチャレンジしてくれました。
こどもたちの心の健やかな成長の糧になるよう、毎回、寺の者も全力投球でこどもたちに向き合います。

この夏あと3回の修行でどんな一休さんたちに出会えるか楽しみです。

Our beloved summer tradition, “Ikkyu-san Training,” has begun once again at Chikurin-ji Temple.

Held in collaboration with Jyoseikan, a long-established ryokan in Kochi City, this temple school welcomes children in the lower grades of elementary school for a day of learning and reflection.

The day begins with cleaning the temple, followed by meditation and storytelling based on traditional Buddhist paintings. Through these experiences, we hope the children learn patience, compassion, and the importance of making good choices.

Yesterday, 20 cheerful little “Ikkyu-sans” took on the challenge with bright smiles and open hearts.

Everyone at the temple pours their heart into each session, hoping these experiences will become seeds for kindness and inner strength.

We look forward to welcoming three more groups of little Ikkyu-sans this summer.

May this summer become a season of growth, kindness, and wonderful memories for every little Ikkyu-san.

今年も竹林寺に「風鈴の小径」ができました🎐

これからの猛暑の季節、お詣りいただく方に少しでも涼を感じていただければと昨年から始めた風鈴棚ですが、今年は2倍の長さとなり、まさに「小径」になりました。

「風鈴の小径」は8月末まで設置しています。

Created to offer visitors a little moment of coolness during Japan’s hot summer, this display first appeared last year.
This year, it’s twice as long—transforming it into a true path filled with the gentle sound of wind chimes.

Take a stroll, slow down, and enjoy the soothing summer breeze.

The Wind Chime Path will be here until the end of August.
