Kakegawa International Christian School is located in Japan. KICSchool serves families, both Japanese and international, including many students from immigrant families who struggle to pay the tuition to keep their children in a private school. Students are from 12 different countries, learning both English and Japanese. KICS is unique in that it is run in a homeschool style, so that students can
study at the level they are able, whether below or above their age level average. Students are also able to study in an environment of peace and safety, some having experienced bullying in public schools. Others have not been able to fit in due to language barriers, special needs, etc. NOTE: PLEASE RESEARCH OUR SCHOOL AND NON-PROFIT FOR ASSURANCE OF AUTHENTICITY. The Bostrom and Crooke families, who started KICS from a homeschool support group after homeschooling their own 13 children for 10 years, are 2nd generation missionaries in S.E. Asia, originally coming to the mission field in the 1950's and the 1960's (sent out from New Covenant Church in Hampton, VA), and now their grandchildren are carrying on their ministry, both church and the school. We are striving to help students attend or stay in KICS that have no other option and want to complete their education (preschool through high school) in a loving, flexible, accepting environment. KICS has been a member school of A.C.S.I (Association of Christian Schools International) for 8 years, but is not recognized by the Japanese government, hence no financial support from the government.
