Here is an update on Anderson and Dacia Nagaoka's (our daughter) home construction work. They lost their home, and his parents' home next door, in a terrible fire earlier this year. Since there was an OLD Japanese home on the land right next to it, Anderson (with family and friends helping) has been working HARD for months to rebuild it from the basic frames. This month they are getting to the bottom of the amazing donations that were given to help in recovery. At this time they estimate about $10,000 is still needed to cover supplies to finish the house. For now they are living in his parents' 1 bedroom emergency city housing (in the living room) with their 1 1/2 and almost 3 year old children (Laura and Scott). Summer was HOT, so thankfully the weather is cooling down finally. Please keep praying for them!

Updates and some huge answers to prayer after our daughter Dacia, husband Anderson, grand babies Scott (2) & Laura (1), and parents-in-law Carlos & Dulce Nagaoka, both lost their homes and everything in them to a fire last Thursday🔥 😭 This was after 3 YEARS of putting all of their time and money into fixing up the two older Japanese homes they had bought. All gone in 45 minutes. 😢 Today was their first day to stay "home" and try to rest. Several Brazilian church friends quickly offered their homes to stay in, and many have given clothes, shoes, toys, food, toiletries, and offered furniture, etc. to both families. Everyone is so grateful!

This is our daughter, Dacia & Anderson's home, and his parents' house next to it, Carlos & Dulce (Nagaoka). Please pray for them! Just over 12 hours ago (7 AM) both homes burnt to the ground with everything both families owned. Anderson had left to es**rt guests on the train to another city, but thankfully was able to come home right away
* Dacia awoke to the babies crying, some smoke in their room. She said she could hear the fire beneath them (kitchen). She grabbed the children and went down the stairs to get outside (she could not see the stairs due to smoke), calling for her in-laws next door. Grandpa Carlos estimated she made it out with 2 minutes to spare. No time for shoes or glasses/contacts even.
* The other house caught fire soon, and everything went down in 45 minutes. Below is the English translation of the news video transcript.
* Doctors cleared the babies, but kept Dacia in ICU overnight to be safe (smoke inhalation). The two older houses and land were purchased a few years ago, and everyone had worked hard to remodel and fix up the homes. They had JUST moved into the bedrooms a few days ago, after sleeping in the living room for 2 years. Church families offered places to stay tonight and for awhile. Tonight was buying toothbrushes, underwear, etc. They are starting from zero and will need a lot of prayer and love.
******* "A fire destroyed two houses in Toyokawa City, Aichi Prefecture on the morning of Sunday, and a woman and two children were taken to the hospital due to smoke inhalation. The two children were not injured.
* According to the police and fire department, around 7:20 a.m. on the 23rd, nearby residents called 110 one after another complaining that they could see smoke at a residence in Akasaka-cho, Toyokawa City.
People who witnessed the fire:
"There was a lot of black smoke and it felt like ash was falling."
* Seven fire engines were dispatched, and the fire was extinguished after about three and a half hours, but the two buildings at the origin of the fire, a two-story wooden house and a one-story wooden house, were completely destroyed.
