Talitha K*m Japan Youth Ambassadors is a youth-led community working toward a world free from human trafficking and exploitation 🌏✨

If you are:
• interested in social issues
• passionate about international activities
• hoping to learn and take action with other young people

—we would love to welcome you!

You do NOT need to be Christian to join.
If you simply have the desire to care for others and make a difference, you are welcome here ◎

Through our training sessions, we learn about human trafficking and explore what actions we can take together as young people.

✏️【出前授業レポート】

2026年3月9日（月）
木更津の暁星国際高校で高校1年生の皆さんへ出前授業を行いました。

今回は「尊厳と平和」に特に焦点を当ててお話ししました。少し難しく感じたところもあったかもしれませんが、人身取引という問題を知る中で、人間一人ひとりの大切さや尊さについて考えるきっかけになっていたら嬉しいです。

呼んでくださった先生方、ご参加いただいた生徒の皆さん、ありがとうございました☺️✨
素敵な時間を一緒に過ごせたことに感謝です！

We had the opportunity to give an outreach class to first-year high school students at Gyosei International High School in Kisarazu.

This time, we focused especially on the themes of “dignity and peace.” Some parts may have felt a bit challenging, but we hope that learning about the issue of human trafficking gave students a chance to reflect on the value and preciousness of every human life.

Thank you so much to the teachers who invited us and to all the students ☺️✨
We are truly grateful to have shared such a meaningful and wonderful time together!

Angelus 📍St. Peter’s Square

We walked from Castel Sant’Angelo to St. Peter’s Square, with messages of hope and peace.
There, we joined Pope Leo XIV in prayer for the Angelus.
Receiving his message on February 8, the Feast of St. Bakhita, was a true grace and a deeply moving gift.

Mass 📍St. Peter’s Basilica

We concluded the week by celebrating Mass together.
To learn, to take action, and to pray—
throughout this week, we were reminded that all three are essential in our journey to stand against human trafficking.
Change begins with ourselves.
I am grateful for this time to return to the very foundation of our commitment and to renew our awareness and hearts 🍀

Finally,
I am deeply thankful for the opportunity to be part of this meaningful week.
With the learnings and courage I gained, and the joy of meeting friends from around the world,
I will continue to take action to end human trafficking 🖐️
This is not a fight we can face alone.
Across borders, united by faith, we will keep raising our voices and taking action to transform awareness—together.
Where dignity is denied, peace cannot exist.

📖Lecture & Workshop
with Professor Silvia Scarpa

Through the lecture and workshop led by Professor Silvia Scarpa, we deepened our understanding of human trafficking—often described as modern-day slavery—from both expert and international perspectives.
It reminded us that learning about this issue, truly understanding it, and gaining knowledge is the very first step that leads to action.

❤️‍🩹Testimonies

We listened to testimonies on human trafficking from different countries, reflected together, shared our thoughts, and prayed.
Hearing survivors’ stories was heartbreaking and painful. At times, anger rose within us, and there were moments when words completely failed.
Yet this experience was deeply meaningful. It reminded us why we must stand against human trafficking and why we must never allow such cruelty that violates human dignity to continue.

Youth Ambassadors’ Presentations

YA from different countries shared about human trafficking in their own contexts —
their activities, their missions, the challenges they face, and the hopes they carry as young people.
While the realities and difficulties differ from country to country, we were reminded that our desire is one:
to end human trafficking, to search for what each of us can do, and to take action.
Knowing that there are companions around the world who share the same commitment gave me courage and a deep sense of reassurance 🕊️

🚶‍♂️ Walk for Humanity in Rome

“Walk for Humanity,” an initiative proposed by Talitha K*m Japan YA, took place at the Colosseum in Rome.
It is a place known worldwide as a tourist destination —
but did you know it was built by enslaved people, and that behind its splendor lies a violent history?
Human trafficking has existed since ancient times, changing its form but continuing even today.
By learning from history, what can we — living in the present — choose to do?
Holding this question in our hearts, we walked together, sharing our thoughts and hopes.

2月8日の聖バキータの祝日に向けて、毎年ローマでは
”The International Day of Prayer and Awareness Against Human Trafficking”が開催されます。
世界各国からタリタクムユースアンバサダーと人身取引の問題に取り組む団体が集まり、祈りと行動を共にしました🤝

今年のテーマは
”Peace Begins with Dignity”
「平和は尊厳からはじまる」です。
暴力や戦争がないだけが平和ではない。
一人一人の尊厳が守られ、大切にされる社会こそが、本当の平和であるということを学び、実感した1週間でした。

ここから数回に分けて、ローマでの様子をシェアしていきたいと思います！

The International Day of Prayer and Awareness Against Human Trafficking takes place every year on February 8th, the day on which we celebrate the liturgical memory of St. Bakhita.

Talitha K*m Youth Ambassadors and organizations committed to addressing human trafficking gathered from around the world, united in prayer and action.

This year’s theme was “Peace Begins with Dignity.”
Peace is not only the absence of violence or war.
True peace begins when the dignity of every person is respected and protected.

It was a week that helped me learn, reflect, and truly feel what peace means.

I’ll be sharing moments from Rome over the next few posts🇮🇹✨

今日、2月8日は、聖バキータの記念日「世界人身取引に反対する祈りと啓発の日」です。

教皇レオ14世は、この日を通して「平和は尊厳から始まる」と述べ、私たち一人ひとりが祈りと気づきをもって人身取引の被害者に寄り添い、すべての人の尊厳を守るよう呼びかけています。

タリタクムユースアンバサダーも、この呼びかけに応え、啓発活動と祈りを通して、人身取引の被害者に寄り添い、尊厳を守る世界の実現に向けて日々活動しています。

聖バキータ、わたしたちのために祈ってください。

Today, February 8, we commemorate Saint Josephine Bakhita on the “International Day of Prayer and Awareness against Human Trafficking.”

Pope Leo XIV reminds us on this day: “Peace begins with dignity,” calling each of us to stand with victims through prayer and awareness and to protect the dignity of every person.

As Talitha K*m Youth Ambassadors, we also respond to this call through outreach programs at schools/advocacy events and prayer. W estand with those affected by human trafficking and help build a world that protects human dignity.
